First time diner here; beautiful restaurant, great service overall. Was surprised that the food was so bland. The vegetarian sliders, chicken milanese and steak were rather bland, like they were missing something. So had to reach for the salt to kick up the flavor. Will give it another try in the near future. Very nice cocktail and wine list.

There are so-so restaurants and then there are memorable eating experiences. Our dinner (celebrating our 36 wedding anniversary) was clearly in the memorable category. Seated at a cozy window-side table, the hostess was very solicitous, congratulating us on our anniversary and brought over a couple of complimentary flutes of bubbly which was an unexpected nicety! There was plenty of staff bustling about and all were very friendly, but the really great part of the experience was the FOOD! I confess, my wife and I are a little bit "foodie," and this was our first time at Vela so our expectations were modest. Boy were we wrong! From the starters through to the Ricotta Kisses" (aka beignets) and cappuccino at the end, everything was simply outstanding. Our starters were a great introduction, Cauliflower Fritters, Roasted Beet Aioli which my wife is still raving about & my Tuna Tartare, Wonton Crisp, Avocado Mousse, Spicy Soy was fresh, beautifully presented and tasty as all get out! We shared the Heirloom Grape Tomato, Mozzarella, Asparagus, Pickled Onion,
Basil, Balsamic Glaze Salad which was so beautifully presented that I didn't want to disturb it. It was also delicioso! Then for entries we had (& shared back & forth) the Pan-Seared Branzino, Cauliflower Rice, Sautéed Spinach,
Corn Emulsion, Horseradish-Beet Sauce & the Lobster Paella, Saffron Risotto, Mussels, Calamari, Chicken, Spicy Prosciutto, Fresh Herb-Garlic-White Wine. Both were really outstanding and again, beautifully presented and drop-dead yummy! Bottom line is that this "find" is definitely on our repeat list!

The food is always great. The specials are amazing and the service is great also. Lots of fresh, healthy choices.
Dinner at Vela's is always good. The branzino entrée was delicious. The menu has a nice selection of meat and fish, as well as salads. The salad with avocado, corn and Caesar dressing was very good. The one disappointment at Vela's is the bread. It is dry and has no taste. Other than that Vela's is an excellent choice.

My fiancé and I were looking for a place to eat after a long day of driving and they were doing restaurant week. Everyone was so welcoming. The regular menu and the restaurant week menu looked amazing. We tried the truffle Mac and cheese- really creamy and comforting. Cauliflower fritters with beet aioli were delicious. Our meals were a huge portion! I got the fresh pasta with veal beef pork meatballs- everything tasted fresh and the thin bits of garlic were what really made the dish. My fiancé had the salmon with kale and forbidden black rice and coconut mustard sauce- WOW! Cooked perfectly and just next level unique flavor. We both enjoyed the bread pudding which was super tasty and had a surprising sugary crunch to It.

Our go to Pville dinner location; diverse entree selection of seafood, meat, salads & pasta. Another option is to combine two starters: moules frites, tuna tartare, beef or chicken sliders. Good by-the-glass wine list.
Excellent food. We had the short ribs, and tuna entrees along with the tuna and calamari appetizers. The cocktails were quite nice too. Tables are nicely spaced for covid considerations. Staff are friendly and attentive.

Beautiful place and the food was mostly delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful. The manager/owner was kind enough to show me around the place and go through the pictures of Pleasantville from the past.

It was Valentine’s Day. Reviews for Vela were very good, we wanted to try a new place.
Rather nervous about eating out (we haven’t in weeks) we were so pleasantly surprised about how all the tables were spaced apart (we had a cosy table by the window next to the fireplace) and we felt very safe, very socially distant even though there were many other diners in the room.
The food was phenomenal. The cauliflower fritters quite something. All the dishes were carefully prepared, beautifully presented and tasted great. We had the short ribs and lobster spells. Will definitely return soon!

Great atmosphere, selection and staff. Everything was delicious(The short ribs were succulent and tender and the paella was rich and savory) and the whole space was clean. The prices were about what you'd expect for midscale dining. 2 entrées, a salad, 2 drinks and dessert came to about $120 after tax and tip.
We enjoyed a beautiful double date with friends. The food was delicious. We split several appetizers and particularly enjoyed the cauliflower fritters and meatballs. For an entree we loved the short ribs. The room is beautiful and we felt safe. The staff is friendly and very professional. We look forward to returning soon!
