We believe that the best experiences are shared with friends and family enjoying great food and drink with warm hospitality.
Very nice change from Bucks county “inns” bright and open, full of energy. Good food too!
We dined at Vela for the first time on Saturday evening. It was a great experience, our server, Jared was wonderful, very helpful and provided excellent service. All of the food was delicious, with unique offerings, especially for our area (polenta with shrimp). The desserts were OUTSTANDING. Would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone. The decor is beautiful. Everyone at the restaurant is very friendly and welcoming.
Vela is a real find.
The food is very good and it is consistently above average.
The ambience is lovely and cheerful.
The staff is very efficient and pleasant.
An all around excellent experience.
This was our first visit to Vela. We visited on a Saturday night and were seated promptly, but that was the only thing that was prompt that night. Our waiter was friendly enough, but was not attentive. We ordered an appetizer and salad to start, but then proceeded to wait 90 minutes for our dinners to arrive. After 45 minutes, our waiter finally showed up to tell us the kitchen was 'a little' backed up. Then we waited another 30 minutes before our meals finally arrived. The wife of the owner came by our table to apologize for the delay and offer a free dessert. However, our long wait spoiled the evening and made the relatively noisy ambiance seem annoying. We may visit the restaurant again someday, but there are many other upscale dining options in Doylestown with better service and value.
Really beautiful space. Service was impeccable and the selection of entrees as well as the craft cocktails were wonderful.
Vela is a very pretty upscale restaurant and the service is great. The menu us very limited and a little pricey for what you get. Nice girl a special occasion though.
Dinner and happy hour with girlfriends... food was delicious, cocktails were tasty ... It will be our new “go to place”
Very nice dinner. Limited Italian menu, but they do a very nice job. Service was outstanding and food was better than expected. Have to try to bakes oysters!
Excellent meal, great service and beautiful restaurant
Second time to Vela and it improved since opening. It was good then and improved on our recent experience.
We dined at VELA for the first time. It is a very pleasant space and the staff was welcoming and the service was quite good. We never felt rushed or had to wait too long to be served. The food was good but maybe a bit pricey. While overall a very nice evening I am not sure what will set VELA apart from other local restaurants for the long term. It is convenient and the parking is easy
We enjoyed a delicious meal at Vela. The mussels (special) appetizer was perfect. The short ribs were very tasty. The wine list could use a bit of expansion but other than that, we enjoyed everything. Our waitress was very friendly and knew her menu! We will return.
With due respect to all the Nonnas... these Meatballs, may just be the best we’ve ever had!
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We had the salmon and the gnocchi and both were excellent. Our waiter, Derek, was very attentive and patient, and he was responsive to my 97 year-old mother needing him to repeat the list of specials - he immediately leaned closer and talked louder. We will definitely be returning there with other family members. I wish they had a sweet white wine on their list though as I do not like dry wines or red wine.
Great food. Very quiet. Looking forward to their patio and fire pits opening.
bright and upbeat setting for some very delicious food, with an Italian vibe. The halibut special was wonderful, as was the roast chicken. We look forward to returning soon.
Great place for a casual dinner with friends
Service was excellent his name was jarred
Prices were high. Place is beautiful!! Some food was amazing some was ok. We’d go again but wait until it’s more established
Polenta, halibut, veal ribs, pappardelle, everything was just perfect. Service good, although our server, while very professional, was at times a little impatient.
A very pleasant evening.
Went with my girlfriend on a date with a reservation at 5:15 PM on a Saturday. Place was almost totally empty. Our server was fantastic - he was kind and chatted with us a bit. The place started to fill up towards the end of our meal. The lighting is good in both sunlight and after dark.
Now the meal: The water isn’t iced, which is fine. They also offer sparkling water. My girlfriend got an Apple-something cocktail which was very tasty but quite strong. The bread comes in a variety, all of which was great (especially the stick), and olive oil. Our server recommended the stuffed peppers and they were awesome - came in almost a soup and the peppers were stuffed with almost a sloppy joe type deal. I ordered the swordfish which was fantastic with a wonderful salsa and beans combo that I never would’ve thought to put with it. My girlfriend ordered the chicken which was a fairly basic roasted chicken, but was still good with nothing to really write home about. For dessert we got a chocolate dish which was very rich and nice, and a blueberry tart dish which was the highlight of the meal. Absolutely get the blueberry tart.
I would absolutely go again, although I hope the small menu gets mixed up every once in awhile. Keep the blueberry tart though.
Service was great, Jared is very attentive and efficient.
As always, food was very tasty, right portions that allowed three of us to share several of our favorite
Our favorite restaurant in Doylestown. Always inviting. Great staff, food and ambiance. We go at least once a week and have introduced several of our friends.
Fred our Waiter was great, very attentive.
Excellent food, filet beef and Swordfish! Service and attention was great. Will be returning with friends soon.
Very good food but small quantities at a moderate price.
Food was very good, the atmosphere was modern and pleasant but the noise level was high when the restaurant became more crowded. The service was ok but they didn’t remove the plates when they should have and the time between courses was way too long to wait almost to the point you wanted to complain.
Limited menu. Slow service. So-so food. We waited several months after they opened to try it, and that didn’t seem to matter. Probably won’t go back.
Slow! 30 minutes to bring bread and an hour for the main course. They offered free desert to make up for the delay, but we declined. Food was good.
Our third visit to Vela. Friendly service. Beautiful space. Excellent mixed drinks. Fabulous and interesting food. It's our new favorite place.
Vela is a modern venue with good food and interesting drinks. I enjoyed my dinner and dining experience. I would recommend it to family and friends for a special occasion as it is a bit pricey.
Great cocktails, great atmosphere and exceptional food.
The food was great, the server was excellent but the service was slow. Not crowded too . Waited a long time for the food
They were able to accommodate my gluten allergy. I wish they had a larger menu . Nice atmosphere!!
excellent in all ways, just serving sizes are too small. Food and service were delicious!!!!
Ordered buttered noodles for my daughter and they brought our spaghetti (sauce and pasta). Ordered my filet medium, it came out medium well (only slight pink middle).
Great food & presentation, but menu choices were limited. Pretty new building with high ceilings. Hostess and severs were warm and attentive to our every need. Looking forward to going back - but will examine menu to see if changed first.
Limited menu. Very loud atmosphere.
Booked anniversary dinner on OpenTable and they didn’t recognize it. Service was slow. Expensive. Noisy. Wouldn’t go back.
Overall great. Good service and food was superb
Expertly crafted, Italian-inspired dishes served in an incredible venue. My favorites are the paccheri pasta and the short ribs, but you really cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Great bar, great service, really no place in Doylestown like it.
