The house (casa) salad with added grilled chicken was fabulous! We also enjoyed the shishito peppers with fried kale appetizer. The enchilada and red bean bowl dishes were less interesting. It was sadly quiet in a Monday. Nice wine and cocktail options.

Food was overpriced and lacked flavor. They made a mistake with one order. One meal was a bowl of beans with 1 corn tortilla and part of an avocado for over $15! Very unimpressed and underwhelmed. Will not recommend or return.

Very pleasant ambiance, interesting and different menu, good food,(spicy black bean soup was delicious), and service was good. Worth checking it out.

LOVE this place. They do an excellent job with Gluten Free. Every single morsel is delicious!!
We ate at the bar and our server was a great guy. Good wine and drinks too!
The Chocolate Beet Cake was off the rails, we got a little side of ice cream with it. AMAZING!

My favorite place to take guests!

Food was great. Service was average. 1 app was brought out with meals, 2d app was brought out at the end of our meal. That app-queso-was very good though!

A group of us went to celebrate the birthday of our vegan daughter. Our server was very nice--patient, helpful, attentive. The menu was kind of disappointing. A strange mix of vegetarian mexican food and pricey meat/seafood options. The vegetarian dishes were quite spicy--I find often vegan foods are over spiced like this, as chef's seem to think we need more spice to make up for the lack of meat. The salmon was tasty. The desserts good and we appreciated that there were vegan options.

Overall, the restaurant name is deceptive--I expected more creative and a larger variety of vegetable options. I feel like we could have gone to Bliss and gotten the same quality and more selection--though of course not as nice an ambiance.

First time visiting this restaurant. Had the Shishito appetizer and the Casa Salad. Both were good portions and delicious.
The staff was attentive and friendly.
Open concept dining. We ate an early dinner and it was quiet but i can see with a full house how it could be loud.
I will return.

We were a party of 4. They only had 4 tables of customers when we walked in. We ordered appetizers and drinks, the appetizers were delicious. Then we ordered our main meals. 2 out of 4 meals came out together. A while later the 3rd meal came out and then a while after that my meal came out. They did compensate me by making a third taco and apologized for my meal taking so long. But, if my party had eaten their meals instead of waiting they would have finished their meals before mine came out. The food here is good but very expensive.

I guess the main takeaway is don't go on a Monday evening, that must be when they trot out the new waitstaff. We had a normal meal, some restaurant month items (many of which were 86'd according to our "server" ( I use the word here but service is NOT what happened) and it took 2 1/4 hours . with a nearly empty house. Couldn't remember our bar orders. never saw him after the first course--except from a distance. Just hard to recommend, even though the food itself is not bad at all--just don't expect consistent service.

We attended for restaurant month and ate off of the special menu. Quality, well seasoned food expertly prepared and seasoned to really bring out the flavors of each dish. Best to make reservations or eat at the counter/bar. Been here twice, recommended for different dining that is good for everyone.

Kitchen was a little backed up so we waited quite some time for our dinner. 7 people, made reservations ahead of time. They did apologize for the kitchen being behind and brought out some steak skewers to tide us over. The conversation and company really made things okay and when the food did come it was incredible. Totally worth the wait. We'll be back.

There were some really tasty items here. And I think that they are playing to a certain (vegetarian/vegan friendly) mindset with their menu, so for that it is a great option relative to other places in town. But other items were pretty mixed, and may have tasted okay, but were not executed quite as well as might have been. Some triumph of concept over the fundamentals of cooking well in certain cases. There is room to improve, and I hope that they keep making steps in that direction! Their wine/beer list was pretty well-chosen to compliment the foods.

It was Christmas Eve family dinner. When we arrived the restaurant was closed. We should have been notified. I will never go back to the restaurant or have any kind words to say about it

I'm vegan and my husband is vegetarian, so we were thrilled to find a restaurant with inventive options for both of us. The quality of the food was excellent, and our server was very helpful without being a pest.

My wife is a vegan, and is always looking for options on new places and new ideas on cuisine. The Vegetable Butcher had it all. It was a great meal and very delicious. We will be back.

Everything was wonderful. We shared the tempura kale and each had one taco. I had the vegan of the moment and it was all so good. We will be back soon.

A great place! Really liked the personal attention. Even though the food took a little longer to arrive than I would have liked (we had a 9 year-old with us who was really hungry), they made up for it. Can't wait to go again when I'm in town.

We understood that the restaurant had a leaning towards vegetarian. While that was true, the vegetarian dishes we had were fabulous. Try them. We liked it.

I enjoyed the vegan potato taco and would definitely order again. The cauliflower starter was not good-the cauliflower was peppery but lacked other flavors and sat on a bed of black rice which had no flavor at all-would definitely not order again. Cocktails were just ok; my friend had tangerine/thyme/ hibiscus margarita which she thought lacked the personality that should be there with a $12 signature cocktail; my strawberry elixir also pretty bland. I would give this place another chance because the taco was outstanding ...The menu contains many interesting vegetarian and vegan options and I saw some really tasty looking salads being served when we were there. Nice ambiance and is quiet enough to enjoy conversation.

This was our second meal at Vegetable Butcher and it was every bit as good as the first. The food is excellent and out of the ordinary and the service was outstanding. In particular, I recommend the Shishito Frito appetizer and the Mahi Torta.

Sorry to have all negatives, but after recommending this to friends and going in last weekend, was very disappointed. Asked a server who wasn't busy for water but since our table wasn't assigned to her she didn't bring it and we had to wait a long time after menus to get the attention from the very busy, and more senior staff. Took a long time for bar drinks too. One order of a salad dressing not on the menu (distaste for peppers, which leaves not a whole lot of menu choices) was NOT put on the salad even though my friend said "Nothing with peppers" and she didn't get the alternative dressing. Steak strips were overcooked on the end of the skewer and undercooked in the middle.

I was introduced to The Vegetable Butch on a walking food tour my daughters and I went on. For a mom’s night out, I suggested it and my friends were so excited to go. I love the shareable appetizers. Our service was not that great and we waited a long time for our dinner. Our waitress didn’t really check on us or clear our dirty plates. We had to send back and item for it being cold. We would totally go back for appetizers but we are a little apprehensive for main dishes. I love the idea of this restaurant and their atmosphere is amazing.

I am always so excited about date night dinner at Vegetable Butcher and it never disappoints. There are so many things to love about the space, the staff, and the menu. For foodies, this food is unlike anything i’ve had anywhere else. It’s as much art as a delicious and satisfying meal.

This is the third time we have been to the vegetable butcher and it has been consistently good each time. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu selections.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant for their good selection of vegetarian/vegan foods as well as a good beer and wine selection.

The selection is reasonable with some meat dishes available. The server was gracious though the service a bit slow. The food thoughtfully crafted and exquisitely prepared.
