We decided to spend our Thanksgiving here. My husband is from North India and had to work all day, so I wanted to make a reservation somewhere special so he could enjoy food from home without cooking it. The latest reservation was 8pm, we called an hour ahead and asked if they could still seat us if we arrived a little late; they assured us as long as it was before 830. My husband was seated and ordered by 8... I was running a few behind. By the time I was seated (still before 8.30) the server was rude and rushed me. I didn’t even get to look through the menu. He told us the place was closing and it was thanksgiving (in a very condescending way). I was only allowed one drink, and it wasn’t the one I even wanted. We had 2 mins to look at the menu. I felt like a burden for being there. My husband hasn’t been out since we got married. It was not at all the evening I was hoping for. The experience quite frankly ruined my night. The food was nice though, despite only being able to relax and eat it the next day as leftovers.

I enjoyed my East India lamb shank and the drink, amazing! Thank you. Everyone was nice and welcoming.

Found out about this place because of vegan week and so glad it popped up. We sadly had our fav Afghan place in old city Ariana's close down and the food here at Veda's reminds us of it. Not too greasy like most indian restaurants.

Without a doubt the best Indian food I've had in Philly.

By far the best Indian restaurant in Philly. Everything about Veda was spectacular. Our waiter was excellent, they took great Covid precautions, our food was delicious & they had super fun cocktails & our outdoor table was nicely spaced away from others. I can’t wait to go back!

Food was cold and waitress was nice, but not that great with explaining the menu when we had questions.

The food here was absolutely delicious!! Not only was everything well priced, but it also all hit the mark. We sat inside and were very happy with all of the safety measures the restaurant and staff took. I highly recommend coming here for a safe place to eat with amazing food and great service.

Fantastic waitress. Low traffic which was nice outside. No heaters, which kinda sucked. As usual, food was bomb.

Veda is delicious, unique Indian dishes, fresh breads, interesting choices from various regions. There are some solid vegan options, so this made me happy. There are plenty of veg and non-veg options. However, Veda could increase their clientele (and my particular brunch check today) by being even more vegan friendly. For example, had they offered non-dairy milk for chai or coffee (Oat milk is delicious and creamy.), mango lasso with a coconut or almond yogurt, etc. I would have added more things to my brunch experience. The crispy okra salad was so tasty, spinach chaat, and the veg thali made vegan are such good choices. Veda is definitely a must try.

Posh update on Indian dining in America. Good food, great portions (I recommend sharing, as with most Indian food).

This was my first visit and everything was great! The food was some of the best I've had in the city.

Been here before. Drinks are excellent. Food quality has decreased. We ordered Paneer Makhni and it was sweet. The other dishes were ok. Not what we expect from Veda.

Visited for philadelphia center city restaurant week - food was outstanding - service was great!!

I loved it here! If you like spicy foods this is a great place to go! Dress code says business casual but you can get away with wearing jeans. Nice place and great food. Can’t wait to try the whiskey flights!

Overall underwhelming compared to cheaper Indian options, however we did do the restaurant week menu so we were potentially limited.

Absolutely loved it, went in for restaurant week. They worked as a team checking on us and running food so we felt well taken care of without being annoyed. If you want Indian food the way it’s suppose to taste not just curry with added hot sauce like half the places this is the spot to go. I know I am really looking forward to their Indian taco Tuesday.

If you want great Indian food, this is the place to go. The restaurant also offers a nice aesthetic inside. Would come again!

terrible food. Cold chicken, almost raw broccoli, food was ready in 5 minutes after placing order, meaning everything was pre cooked. Our waiter tho was very nice and pleasant. Also the outdoor dining location is outside of a parking lot construction site, do not recommend.

The food was delicious but the service was awful. We had to ask multiple times to have our table wiped down because it was sticky with food. The waiter was rude and kept ignoring us when we tried to flag him down for additional things. They were closing at 9:45 and were kicking us out by 9:15.

Great food, excellent service. The Spinach Chaat is THE BEST! Due to COVID-19 and outdoor dining requirements, the ambiance was not quite what it is inside the restaurant, but the quality of food and service was not compromised at all.

Amazing food!!! Their lamb chops were soooo good!!! Their tamarind mojito was delicious! Naan garlic herb was great! Scallops were just perfection! Service was just exceptional! Will be returning!

Not sure because of this covid we didn’t had the pleasant experience, at first we thought dining is inside the restaurant. Also when we asked the server to click our picture, it was taken so quick like they were in rush to go somewhere. Overall it was good, but yes couldn’t capture the memory of dining in there.

Attentive service. An amazing cauliflower appetizer. Beautiful setting and very clean restrooms.

Holi menu was in effect and was filled enough to cover both meat eater and vegetarian.

We loved it here! The best butter chicken I’ve ever had, the sauce was insane! My fiancé got their version of tikki masala and it was delicious. I got a damini drink and he got a mule, very much enjoyed. And you can’t go wrong with Naan and rice. We will definitely return

The food was good, but a bit overpriced. I think it's definitely worth a try at least once.

Nice vibe/ambiance. Food was well cooked but lacked in flavor/'soul'. The special Valentine's menu seemed to be quite overpriced. Our server left a lot to be desired.

Its an average place in terms of food and service.We had a reservation at 9:30 pm on Valentine day and called during the day to see if they can move us little earlier. They told us it it is fully booked and they cant move it. Anyway, when we reached 9:00 pm and we noticed that there were so many seats empty till we were there around 10:30. In terms food Lahsunia godhi felt like melted plastic around it. I would expect better experience especially when we drove an hour to get there

First visit. Very impressed. Just really really good high quality Indian food, staff that cooperate and coordinate with each other, comfortable chairs and tables, elbow room, and good live music. Basically what every restaurant should have but most miserably fail at. Thank you Veda. I am a fan of Indian and now I’m a fan of Veda. We will return! (Please add Pashawari naan)

Fun night with great food and service!!

It was nice we were confused in ordering as most Indian restaurants we have been to allow you to request food to be “mild” but here it seems the spice level is set. We did enjoy our food and the overall ambiance

Upscale Indian restaurant with decent food. Overpriced in general and less expensive Indian restaurants provide equally good or better cuisine. I don't think the prices are justified overall. The least inexpensive bottle of red wine was $60 which is higher than the cheapest bottle at other more famous and expensive restaurants. Service was spotty. If you are new to Indian food and have an expense account, this is a good choice, but not otherwise.

While it took someone a while to ask us for our drink orders, once they did, the experience was great! Food was excellent!

the food did not live up to our expectations. It was bland and had no flavor. The only saving grace was the goat cheese Nan and the pistachio cheesecake. The service felt very rushed and the server was in a lot of hurry . We expected better food based on some previous customer rating but it ruined a birthday celebration which was disappointing. overall poor food and poor service !
