Vault Grill & Bar
Discovered The Vault through Open Table. Nice experience. Upon arrival professionally and friendly greeting - just right. Escorted to a quiet corner table within sight of the bar, but quiet and private. Efficient, professional and personal level service throughout the evening. Staff allowed time for conversation without interruption and still provided timely, efficient service on my time schedule. Parking can be iffy but had no real problem after learning the block just a bit.
The decor, ambiance and service are wonderful and what you would expect for an upscale restaurant. The food is not up to the quality of an up scale steakhouse. The Clams Casino (at $12 I believe) were served so quickly they must have been pre-made. They were tiny, no peppers as described, bacon was soggy, sauce was not scampi and seemed more like gravy (I did not recognize it) , and they were not hot. I had to return them because of all that. The steak was very good, cooked perfectly and served at correct temperature. The accompanying vegetable and potatoes were cold. My dining partmer's food was also not hot and not the quality of the pricing. More attention needs to be given to food quality and serving temperature.
This was our first time at The Vault and everything was exceptional. The Dover Sole special was by far the best I have had. We will return again.
We went there for a date night, and loved it. The food was delicious, the staff was great.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
Food was fabulous, atmosphere was amazing, service was impeccable. First time there and was absolutely amazing. Waiters were courteous, and especially nice that they knew when to check on your dinner without being overly aggressive. Wonderful to have an upscale restaurant in this area.
Awesome food, great friendly staff and wonderful ambiance
Amazing food!! I had the tuna tartar and salmon - best meal I’ve had in years!
Great atmosphere, cocktails excellently prepared. Entrees well prepared. Service could have been more attentive, had to wait to get wine after meal was served. Prices on high side for NEPA.
One fine dining experience! My pre-Birthday diner was an amazing surprise! Vault is now my number one place to go in the valley! Food was superb atmosphere was romantic & service felt like I was in New York City! BRAVO!
Our experience at Vault Bar & Grill was great! When I made the reservation I stated that it was my husbands birthday. They brought him cake and sang to him. The food was delicious.
Cool atmosphere inside an old bank, nicely redone with full bar and 3 different dining areas. Good service and meals, we had shrimp and steak selections this visit. One caveat is no substitutions on sides, so since I did not care for side items listed on menu, I had to order separate sides, which came at an additional cost.
The Vault was great! we go out with our friends twice a month for dinner and try new places . We will definitely be back at the Vault. the waitstaff was amazing had a great sense of humor and joked around w us, it's always nice to have someone friendly and w a joking attitude to enhance tbe dining experience. The food speaks for it self ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! we each had appetizers to die for I had the sea scallops they were The best tasting scallops I have ever had and the filet mignon was superb done to perfection and mouthwatering!
Thanks Vault staff and chefs for our amazing date nigh💜🥂
The atmosphere is outstanding. Waiter/Waitresses for the most part were very good. Considering it is a high end restaurant and I purchased a bottle of wine, the waiter never once offered to refill my glass. I always had to ask. Besides that, it is a great place to eat would definately recommend.
Absolutely amazing! Perfect for a date night or special occasion. It is dressy so be sure not to wear your everyday street clothes
Such a great restaurant!!! Beautiful atmosphere, huge menu selections from apps, to salads, filet, and burgers! Something for everyone, and every price point. Great for a business meal, or a romantic
dinner for two, or group celebration. Highly recommended!!!
The food was delicious and the service was very good. We had a wonderful time.
An option to sit in the Vault would have been great, truth be told we didn’t ask... but it wasn’t offered either. Food was good, service was excellent, I have already recommended.
Fantastic food, big portions, excellent staff. Great restaurant
Second time here! And the food and service were just as fantastic as the last time! Chicken Mushroom that was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Seafood casserole- I think will be my favorite till the end of time! Wonderful olives and warm bread at the beginning of the meal is such a great touch! And the appetizer Coconut Shrimp Appetizer was such a unique taste sensation! Makes me hungry just thinking about it! The service is second to none, also. Both times we were there it was not all that crowded but there was always someone there(but not TOO much!) to make sure if there were something we needed, they would take care of it! Love, love, love this place!
Have been there several times and always excellent. Will go back in the future.
Atmosphere was very nice and conducive to conversation. The service was good our server was very conscious of fixing the multiple errors of our meal. As far as the food my lobster bisque could have been hotter in temperature, the bread for a high end restaurant could have been fresher, my stuff shrimp was overdone leaving my shrimp dry ,my companions shrimp cocktail was not completely cooked all the way through. We received the wrong beverages not sure where the miscommunication was. Our server was very apologetic. I have eaten at many restaurants before and with these many issues being sent back to the kitchen Etc I would have felt that they would have comped at least one dessert to make us want to feel they were making up for the mistakes of the night. We will try one more time and hopefully it will be a smooth seamless meal. On a positive note the short ribs were excellent and cooked to perfection.
Two of our steaks came out very wrong. My steak was almost inedible because it was so tough. Having sent it back once, wasn’t doing that again. I gave my steak to my girlfriend so she could feed it to her dogs. The other two steaks were very tender
Not going back
Excellent food and drinks
We enjoyed our first meal there so much we wanted to take my parents to this restaurant (they live 1 hour+ away). My parent's so enjoyed that dinner and evening and I might add so did my husband and I. What an absolutely FABULOUS meal, would recommend to everyone (and have).
Our steak dinners were prepared to perfection, juicy & right temperature. Quiet setting, great place for date night or any other occasion. Will defiantly be going back.
I love the decor and the menu selections. Service was top notch. And the olives! The best!
Food and service were excellent. Will definitely go back with family. Price is very good for portions served.
Great from cocktails through dessert. The Mussels Portuguese appetizer was outstanding as were the filet mignon entrees - better than any you could get at Ruth Chris or Morton's. The wait staff was excellent - efficient without being hovering. We will pdefinitely return.
Food was very good. Service was outstanding. Wine list needs to be improved. Loved the old bank vault and the decor.
The restaurant was not busy on the Friday night we visited, which is a shame. Parking was available in the vacant lot across the street. Wines by the glass included mostly brands you never heard of, but were tasty. The lobster bisque had a surprising amount of actual lobster pieces, which was great. The veal chop was large, well seasoned and perfectly cooked. The same was true of the 28 oz bone-in ribeye, which was quite tender. The bacon wrapped shrimp dish included 5 pieces of probably 10-12/lb-sized shrimp. Prices were reasonable for this type of upscale restaurant. The vegetable and potato of the day were included and were also very good. We were too full to get dessert. We hope that this restaurant survives, as we plan to go back, and will definitely consider it for occasions (birthday/anniversary) instead of our usual trip to Ruth's Chris or similar.
It was my birthday, and our family was there for dinner. The staff was very accommodating and helpful throughout the dinner. The drinks were well made with no skimping on the alcohol. The food on the menu showed variety, allowing multiple options. The meals were well prepared and tasty. I had the lobster bisque as an appetizer and thought it could be a bit thicker, but that is a personal preference. Overall it was a very good dining experience and we are looking forward to going again.
Wait staff was not good. Forgot appetizers and brought them out after main course and still charged us.
The restaurant itself was very classy. The food was pretty great too but I can't say it was with the price. I mean maybe if this was Manhattan I'd even pay a little more but this is Market Street in Wilkes-barre. I would probably just hit their other restaurant, Toscana, next time.
Took the family here for Mother’s Day...
Lobster bisque was watery
Lamb chops were awesome
Filet mignon was ok but not worth $34
Clams casino had burnt bacon on them in a watery sauce
Beautiful atmosphere servers were great.... chef needs to go back to school, or back to the line at burger king...he/she sucks...
1& a half thumbs down.... I won’t be back
My husband and I tried this place out for the first time and had an enjoyable meal. We love the way they repurposed the classic downtown band building, and were offered seating in the vault upon our arrival. I had a perfectly cooked strip steak, and my husband enjoyed his dish as well. We plan to return.
Amazing! Food was delicious and service was excellent.
Hostess was pleasant and we had about 4 waitstaff serving us. Bread was late getting to us. Ordered calamari. Calamari is meant to be crispy and this was tossed with a delicious sauce but it made the calamari soggy. Entrees came out and you get an Ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes. If you're paying more than $25 per plate, you really should not serve mashed potatoes that way. I had the veal chop which was good. Husband had pork chop and he said it was too salty. The food was hot. Overall will not be visiting again as we paid over $100 and didn't really enjoy it.
