Server did not take our drink order for quite some time after being seated, nor did she ask about refills. Utensils that were used for appetizers and salads were not replaced without us having to ask for something.
A wonderful dinner for two! The seafood was exceptional!
Great!!! The only criticism I have was my Manhattan was in a martini glass with no ice. Still tasted good but not typically how I drink a Manhattan
Ambiance and food were exceptional. Love to see an upscale dinning experience available in this locale.
Food was excellent! Service was a bit slow, and confusing. You don’t get a specific server, just whoever is walking by, it took an hour for the food to come. Food makes the wait worth while!
We really enjoyed the food. We had the short ribs and filet which were excellent. The mac and cheese was really awful, it was either bad or made with a cheese I don't like. They were gracious enough to remove it from our bill though. The service was pretty poor though. We were greeted by one person and never saw him again after we ordered. They seemed to have plenty of wait staff who all appeared busy, perhaps they need to work smarter, not harder. We were unclear who are our service person was. Overall it was a good meal though.
Excellent food service very attentive staff. Have been there twice and plan to back again. Well priced for the quality of food and portion size.
Service was very good and food was excellent. The restaurant was not crowded for a Friday night dinner hour crowd, and the staff was very attentive and gracious (would have to compare on a busy night to get an accurate read). The food was prepared exactly to my specifications and the portions were respectable in accordance with price. Decor is tasteful, elegant and the ambiance is similar to what one would find in a big-city restaurant, which is refreshing and somewhat surprising for a smallish, north-central-PA restaurant. I will be back to this little Diamond in the Rough. I hope my future experiences here continue to be this good.
My husband and I went there for Valentine's Day. We were seated in one of the smaller rooms...very romantic! The service was excellent as well as our meals. Would highly recommend The Vault!
My friends and I had a relaxing and enjoyable evening.
Outstanding steaks cooked perfectly. Great wine list. Forget about Ruth Chris or Morton's, this is the place to come for a good steak.
Took a couple minutes for someone to come to our table but once they did the experience was great. The food came out very quickly but the quality was still outstanding. Definitely will be returning.
This is an interesting restaurant. We had the Calamari Calabrese and I had the Barramundi. Both were expertly prepared and the service was top notch. The bar is a little behind the times (no domestic craft whisky), but the wine by the bottle list is quite impressive. However, I felt as if I had stepped back in time into The Saber Room or Allante's. If you're familiar then you know the quality irreproachable, but at the same time there's a reason those places are out business now; they were out of step with the times. The Vault is similar; service is great, food is great, all the staff are in tuxedos, the restaurant is in a well appointed facility, but the prices are really high and the average person doesn't eat like that more than once or twice a year. It's a level of quality that (even in larger cities) people just do regularly any more. I just don't see myself going back.
first time there but won't be the last. great ambiance and service. menu and specials were delicious.
Called a month ahead to reserve a table inside the vault to celebrate mom's bday. Once seated, an employee stopped directly in front of the vault with in our ear shot to scold the host as he claimed that he just PROMISED the table to a party of 4 at the bar. Seemed that he demanded that she moved us from the table, & I heard her sternly say something on the lines of “I’m not doing that, they had reservations.” His reply sounded like, “I DON’T CARE! I just promised it to them.” They continued to argue for a few minutes, making it very uncomfortable. They sat a visibly intoxicated party of 4 at a table behind us in inside the tiny vault area. A man in the party gave us dirty looks as he walked by (not sure what was said to him to warrant that) & the women were loud and obnoxious using filthy language the entire eve. They used the F-word MANY times. They brought drinks several times to this other table but no one ever asked if we wanted another round, nor did anyone ever refill our water glasses! After dinner, I excused myself to use the restroom. When I walked out of the rest room, the host approached me & said, “Did you want a piece a cake for your Mom’s birthday & we can sing?” I said “Oh, yes, that would be absolutely fabulous!” She asked what kind of cake, listed the choices, and I choose a piece of carrot cake. I figured this would surely make up for the extremely uncomfortable start . But, no one ever brought the cake? Instead, the guy who was arguing with the host came & threw the check on the table & walked away. I rarely take the time to point out the negatives in dining experiences, but The Vault has failed horribly! They ruined my mother’s bday dinner with the arrogance of a single employee & they have denied the satisfaction of valuable customers without a fulfillment of a promise THEY offered. Yet they did not respond to a message sent via their website, a pm on FB, or a short FB review. I guess they just DON'T CARE so I had to share! Awful!!
The historic atmosphere of this old bank was very lovely. The service and the food were excellent. This was a nice night out with friends.
Excellent meal. Great ambiance and skillful stAff
This place met and exceeded expectations for downtown Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania . A fine dining experience from the moment my party walked in, through cocktails, dinner and digistives. The staff was lovely, service and quality of food exceptional. Try the veal chops; perfection.
Liked the atmosphere and enjoyed the food The service was very good Nice menu and very nice presentaton We definitely would go back and also recommend this restaurant to friends
This was our 1st visit and we were very impressed. I had the Filet and it was done perfectly, the taste was great and it was extremely tender. My wife had fish and she loved it. Atmosphere is great, and the service was attentive without being over bearing. We will return.
The vault was exceptional. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and trendy. I will be going back very soon! The service was good because they don't rush you through your meal
Fantastic food and staff. Always first rate
Nice place , they need to put a curtain up by the kitchen access and one on the rear exit. If your stuck viewing those areas it’s not a good view . Otherwise very good curb appeal .
Beautiful setting, great menu, food exceptional. Service from everyone but actual waitress was great. She seemed like needed to be trained.
Other staff sort of came to rescue, so all was fine. Food and atmosphere make it definite for return visit.
Overall satisfied. Enjoyable night and solid meal. Just not A+.
Outstanding meal and service. Highest caliber establishment in region
This was my wife and my first time at The Vault. Overall we had a nice experience. However, we felt at times that no one was assigned to wait on us which mean we had to ask someone for something. The food was excellent with nice presentations. I will be going back again.
Enjoyed it very much. They put us in a quiet table alone as we asked with no issues. Very friendly staff. Will go again!
Food was wonderful, wait staff was overly nice, with several folks asking if we needed drinks. I had the Barramundi which was excellent - bones removed with table side service - very nice. Price was what I expected but might be high for locals. Great location with wonderful larger bar (great drink selection) and the old bank vault doors are just great to admire and very unique.
This is an outstanding eatery. Excellent value for the quality of food. Wide variety of dishes to suit most diners. I will be a regular there. Terrific staff, knowledgeable and courteous.
Food was fine. Service was confusing. We were never greeted. The first server walked up to us and said “have you decided on a drink order?” From that point forward, every person working in the restaurant was involved. Although they were nice, it was unclear who was doing what and they were duplicative. I️ asked for a glass of wine from one guy and never saw him again. I️ asked for the glass of wine I️ ordered and was brought a bottle. And it continued like that. Food was fine, not great. Better off going to Kevin’s or Le Manhattan Bistro.
Phenomenal food and the service was top notch! Hottest restaurant in NEPA!
The food and service was excellent from the moment Me and My Husband walked through the door. We will come back on a regular basis for Lunch and Dinner.
I was very pleased with my dining experience at the Vault Grill & Bar. We were seated in the vault section which was very cool. I would recommend you visit the bar or make your reservation soon!
We were in Wilkes-Barre for a family event and decided to try Vault. We weren't disappointed. The service was strong, the food tasty, and the prices reasonable for this type of venue. If we're back in the WB area we'll likely find ourselves trying the Vault again.
Great dining experience very attentive staff
We share porterhouse for 2 great dinner
Good wine selections definitely recommend restaurant
