Vault 244 Bistro | Lounge
Please note that we primarily a 21+ establishment. We do have a small amount of seating to accommodate minors but it is best to give us a call before coming in to make sure that seating for parties with minors is available.
Food and service was excellent! I had a special seating request and every effort was made to provide it.
Chair fabrics were tattered/torn. Not what I expect when ordering a $38 main course plate.
I invited guest out from Eugene who had never dined at Vault 244 and they absolutely loved the atmosphere, ambience, food, wine, etc.
The food is really delicious. Cocktails very nice. Service slow and distracted. Overall a good experience the food is worth the wait, you just may need to check in with the waiter a time or to to make sure it’s coming and that he didn’t forget your drinks at the bar.
Not very good service today. We do go to dinner her often, we have had much better service than today. :(
Based on this past visit we will definitely be back. Ashli was great!
Vault 244 is our favorite restaurant in the Albany, and we try to eat there each time I come to town for the weekend. Typically, we are able to go once or twice every other week. Although a limited menu, the food is outstanding, and we have enjoyed every meal at Vault. We will continue to return!
Our first time here and our waitress Ashley was great! The bacon wrapped dates were very tasty and their meatloaf is worth going back again and again....
Our waitress Ashli was amazing! steaks were great. Although i was a little disappointed when my food came out and my mashpotatoes and Brussels sprouts were sitting in steak blood.. how it’s plated, it’s all kinda stacked on top of eachother .. but other than that, the quality and taste of the food was great and the drinks were outstanding.
We always look forward to dining here, but this last time was unfortunately a bit disappointing. The waiter was pleasant, but not like others we've had who were full of personality and eager to serve. We were givin one choice of starch with our steaks since they were out of the other starches and also, they were out of the Brandy sauce which is my favorite. We come here for the quality of food and don't mind paying for it, so when it can't be delivered it's a bit frustrating. I hope this review acts as constructive criticism and not a rant.
The service was excellent and the food was even better.
Reserved a table but they put us right next to the door. Really wish there was a heater there or something since it was cold. Chairs were comfy, though, and it was secluded. Loved the food as always. The cheesecake could've been a little better, though it was ok. Their cheesecake usually is incredible but this time it was lacking something in ways of flavor, but I can't put my finger on it. The waiter wasn't super attentive and seemed to be struggling to keep up with all his tables. I think he was more focused on the table of 6 which is understandable. He got us everything we wanted but I really had to try to get his attention but that's ok. I think he did adequately.
One of the best meals I've ever had. The Vault Rivals any high-end Portland restaurant. Will be back for sure!
One of my favorite restaurants. As usual, the dining experience was excellent in every regard. The menu boasts enough diversity to satisfy everyone, and the service is attentive without being intrusive. This is a gem in downtown Albany.
We had a lovely dinner here over the weekend. Ashli was our server. Super friendly and accommodating! She gave us great drink and food recommendations. Both the food and drink presentations were enticing. Everything tasted wonderful! It's definitely worth exploring the drink menu! This is definitely a star find in Albany.
Wonderful menu and reasonable prices. Our server was top-notch! Only complaint is that we had a table right next to the front door, and whenever the door opened, we were hit with a very cold, drafty breeze.
We had a very enjoyable evening. Looking forward to a second visit!
Food was DELISH!
We have never had less than a great meal at the Vault, and we’ve been going there since it opened.
What a find! We had a memorable meal (the carbonara was beyond wonderful), the best Scotch Manhattan I've ever had, stuffed mushrooms so delicious. Waitstaff is impeccable, lovely muted and comfortable surroundings, could have stayed there for hours. Our only regret? It's too far away to visit regularly, but we will be back!
Vault has continued to go down in the last year. This used to be one of our favorite go to spots but in the last year has really not been. Food quality is not as good. Service has gone down. The other customers are rude. Tonight another customer seated next to us, yelled at another customer seated next to him because he was on the phone. I couldn’t count how many times he said the f word. The waiter heard him and didn’t say a thing and continued to serve him drinks. Completely out of line. Ruined my time and it didnt even happen to me. Although last time we were in a woman cursed at my husband for still wearing his hat. I don’t pay $200 to be in that type of environment. The menu has been the same for the last four months. Its just not as fresh as it used to be. It’s sister restaurant, brick and mortar, is still one of our favs though.
They need to do a menu overhaul. Same stuff different week. Will give it one more try
Pretty decent food, well prepared. Service is a bit lacking in hospitality, we felt like we were causing an issue when we asked for more water.
You can't go wrong with the Ribeye! It was my birthday, so it is our go to place for special occasions. I don't like the fact that you pretty much have to have a reservation to get in. It was frustrating to see several tables empty for long periods of time while people were being turned away at the door. I would suggest for the benefit of the owners and the patrons to keep the reservations to a minimum so that others can come in and be able to get a table or at least be able to wait for one. I am sure having full tables throughout the night would benefit everyone.
This was truly one of the best meals I've had and I love good food and am willing to pay for it. The price here was good for the quality. Beautiful setting in an odd shaped building but well done, I really liked the foot rail at the bench of the tall tables. Our party of four had the stuffed mushrooms - perfection, the baked bried - delightful and delicious, two pork Wellingtons - masterpieces, the risotto - needed more heat but the kitchen came through, and a burger - nicely done but no common condiments available, the homemade potato chips were great. The wine list was great and the wait staff was knowledgable, one was a bit uppity but they left us to our wonderful conversation and it was a great evening. What more could we ask?
Wonderful food and service. Fun to watch bartender at work!! Was a bit noisy so a little hard to hear fellow diners! But will definitely go back for the food and to try some of the martinis!!
Met a friend for good wine and food. Had the chicken pot pie. Very tasty.
Waiter with an attitude. Started off the evening on wrong tone. Food was good, but hard to overcome the poor start. Had good experience previously. Now no desire to ever give them business
I was very disappointed with this visit to the Vault. My friend and I came here for happy hour. When we chose to only order drinks and not food, the waiter was noticeably put off. Our entire visit we felt very unwelcome and uncomfortable. Because of how we were treated by him, I don’t know if we will return.
Clearly the chef and staff care about food. Great attention to detail, delicious and delectable. Some of the best good we have had in a long time. Service was great. We all started with a half warm bacon salad. My son said it was the best vegetable salad he had in his life.
Xmas eve dinner for the 1st experience here. Food was pretty good but the service was marginal. Had to request drinks from the hostess. Never had salt n pepper on the table. Mixed up my vegetables with my husband’s. They also mixed up my parents steak and my mom had to send it back to cook longer to her preference. The Brussels sprouts were my favorite part of the meal. The Caesar salad was on point also. My oldest loved the warm cast iron cookie for dessert. Lavender Lemon Drops were amazing!!
My wife and youngest daughter and I enjoyed each of our meals. We were able to get our special seating request in the rear where we could converse easily. As usual, the food was excellent and the service was good.
We went to Vault 224 for our anniversary and had an absolutely lovely time. If you're plannign on going for a special occasion, I'd ask to be seated by the fireplace!
The Vault is by far the best place in Albany for great dining. Food, service, and atmosphere are all first rate.
Waiter Ryan was not good. Very slow to clear dishes and fill drinks. Forgot to serve coffee but chrged us. Was not very hsppy.
My husband and I have been coming to the Vault for years. We truly love it the service, food atmosphere. It was my birthday this past Saturday and overall my friends and I had a good time. About the only thing was it took a very long time for me to get my drink and our meals were split all wrong, then they were rung up all wrong. But it was fixed.
Another delicious experience at Vault 244. I ventured and ordered something new and it was wonderful. An excellent server as well. Great food, great service, makes for a great evening.
Overall a good time....there was a confusion with booking and table reservations using this open table so I ended up calling and finding out more information. I would suggest if its a special occasion to call ahead and make sure you get a table reserved. I did this and then the table was given out to someone else but I ended up with one that I was happy with.
There were no tables available for reservation at the time I requested. So I reserved a table for 30 min. later. We went at the original time I wanted and sure enough, we were seated immediately at a very nice table near the fireplace. The cocktails were nice but not overly generous. We ordered two small plates. The food was excellent and adequate for a light evening meal. All the time we enjoyed a quiet conversation. By coincidence, we saw some old acquaintances and exchanged holiday greetings. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Really good food! Our server didn't interact all that much with us but being out for a romantic evening we didn't mind that too much. Super cozy, we were sat right next to the fireplace and it was amazing!
Second trip to this restaurant. First time was wonderful!
