Vast Ratings and Reviews
Vast has an excellent choice of various entrees from duck to beef. My wife and I had a delicious meal for two catered to our choice. Our waiter Tio, had recommended a "dinner for two". It was a surf and turf meal. Included the Bone in Rib eye, Lobster Tail, Shrimp and Scallops. It was more than amazing. For our starter we indulged in the Bone Marrow. The portions were perfect, and unfortunately we did not leave room for desert. The atmosphere was great, very romantic as we sat with a window view of the city, we were able to see the Chesapeake Energy Arena along with all the beautiful lights of the city in the evening.
Beautiful view. Two seating levels of dining - next to windows and then an interior upper level. Although it was nice to be elevated if sitting interior, the tables are arranged around a curved banquette so that one person has their back to the view. I would think the biggest draw for the restaurant is the view, so not optimal.
Waiter did everything he could to make this an elevated dining experience. However, the food was ridiculously slow. Twenty to thirty minutes between sitting, ordering, and courses is just too long. We ordered dessert to go because after two and 1/2 hours, we just didn't want to spend anymore of our night waiting for it or the check.
Amuse-bouche was a meatball served cold. I thought this maybe intentional until hot appetizer was served cold as well. After seeing how slow serve was, it became clear. Medium filet was so under done and waiter, although he asked if ok, I just couldn't imagine how long that would take to fix mine while my husband's food got cold too.
Nice concept, but not refined.
The venue was great, food was great, but I would second guess going back due to management allowing a table of jerks get drunk and yell obscene things in the main dining area with children present. It is one thing to allow that behavior in the bar area, but in the main dining room was a shock. It’s a shame that is what my overwhelming memory of the restaurant was. Totally unacceptable environment to pay that kind of money for.
We celebrated a special event by dining at Vast. Tio was our waiter and he was EXCELLENT! The view is terrific and we felt like we were the only ones dining [but we were not]. The food was delicious and the presentation was great. We did save room to share a dessert and were not disappointed.
Highly recommend for special occasions!
Good service. Great views. Mediocre food.
To sum it up, this is like eating at an Outback/Longhorn/Saltgrass Steakhouse with Red Prime/Mahogany/Ranch prices. My $62 ribeye was only about a half inch thick and was waaaay over seasoned. After having to send the first one back for being over cooked, I just gave up and ate the second one and drank lots of water.
Again...Outback Steakhouse with Red Prime prices. When you take price into consideration, you will be disappointed with your meal.
Great night with my husband with a great atmosphere and dining experience. The food was great and service was impeccable. Carol was our server and was very knowledgeable. Everyone was very accommodating to our needs. Even without the sunset the skyline was beautiful.
Wow, what a superb evening...our dinner was really a culinary delight....I had asked for a special short rib preparation that had been on a former menu...it was great...from the No Name ranch bacon-wrapped like a filet...indescribably wonderful. We started with the cheese platter..oh my, just perfect! ...and with a bottle of 2012 Gemstone blend...a pairing beyond a rave. My wife had salmon..perfectly prepared. And then, dessert....brown butter cookies with vanilla ice cream rolled in cookie crumbs. Service was impeccable by Stephanie...and get this from 49 floors above OKC, we watched the sun go down and transition to evening. A normal occurrence at Vast, maybe, but for us...just a bit of heaven. Oh by the way, we were just ending a fairly stringent phase of a focused diet, so this was all the better!
We loved everything. Will be back!! Hated that I was not able ho keep my cap on but some guys with Cowboy’s hat did. Mine was as nice and clean. Maybe even cleaner!!! We were also very nicely dressed. Seemed like a silly rule if You have the $$$ and are nicely
Dressed. Does not seem fair!! But we overlooked it, this time!!!! Thanks....
Feel like the waiter rushed thru our ordering and didn’t give the attention he was giving the other tables. I’m assuming it’s because I’m tattooed, or whatever reason. I also figured that making a reservation a week in advance and requesting a window seat that I’d have gotten that. Nope not the case. $200 well spent plus the $20 tip I left cause I’m not a dick.
Special farewell lunch for a beloved colleague. Very best lunch in OKC, I think. Had a magnificent time, and a magnificent lunch. Always impressed by the attention to detail. Not always easy being a vegetarian in OKC, but super appreciative of the wait staffs’ knowledge about. Thank you, VAST! Chef Kurt is the best!
The first time I dined at Vast a small, special request I made was denied and our server needed a reminder for a drink order three times. This past weekend I dined at Vast, and I very, very much enjoyed myself. First, the service: Eric, our server, in part made our meal. He was attentive but not overbearing, accommodating, and had a great sense of humor to boot. Second, the food: the octopus was incredible, one of the best tasting octopus or squid dishes I've ever had. The "Vast potatoes" was clever and tasty, and the dry-aged steak was excellent. Though I asked for 8 oz. of the 120-day dry aged filet, the chef was nice enough to include a 10 oz steak at no extra cost. "Why cut off and waste 2 oz?" The cocktails and wines by the glass were great from a large selection as well to balance out a nice meal. Third, the show: we were lucky enough to get the table in the NE corner of the restaurant, with the single best views in the house, allowing us to look out over the whole city. By coincidence, the tornado moving past the city made for a spectacular display of lightning across the sky and rain around the area. Finally, the special touch: though it may be a simple request, Vast accommodated the same special request I was denied earlier of a slightly alteration of my mother's menu to depict her favorite animal. Nothing crazy, but it went a long way in her beginning the meal with a very large, surprised smile on her face. 4.5 stars.
First year anniversary and we got sat by the hallway leading the kitchen and lots of noise, asked to be moved and they said other tables are reserved??? The classy appetizer of popcorn (few in a little square bowl) was an absolute JOKE and they said it's chef's special. Walmart bag popcorn much better. Are you kidding me?? Have to valet your car especially on a rainy day have no other options and you pay $10 up front so basically you lost $10 if you want to leave which we almost did when we found out we couldn't move our seat. Food tasted good but portion very little for $40 plate. They are going cheap on the material which would only cost them $5 per plate and priced at $40 or more. I would fire all the crew and hire new nicer crew and a chef who doesn't have a popcorn special appetizer. The nice fancy Black Forest dessert is brownie decorated with whipped cream. Unfortunate for a place like this.
