Vast Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere was great, environment quiet, and service was great up to the point of the actual server. The gentleman was by no means rude in any way or form, but his expression as well as his body language and speech made it clear that he did not want to be there. The food was mediocre at best and took about 50min for it to come out after placing the order. Ive had good experiences here in the past, but I cant help to look for other options.
Dined at lunch for a birthday celebration. Excellent buffet, great service and attention to detail. First experience for three of the four of us. The experience was not lacking anything! Everyone was highly complimentary of their experience. Will definitely dine there again.
I have heard the lunch time menu had some hidden gems, and be sure and take advantage of them when they come around. The gem I am speaking of, is fried chicken. Simply the best fried chicken around, no one else is even close. Partnered with the red beans and rice, this meal put me at the dining table at grandma's house. Simple, refined, excellence. Service was outstanding, and recommend for all occasions.
Food was mediocre honestly, even tho $20 is not much these days. Lack of linen and poorly groomed loitering staff are a minus. Such laxity suggests Management was not top tier I think. The restaurant was also a little worn. I have been to vast a few times and always considered it an “event”, even at lunch. This time not so much! Pleasant experience but not a special experience. I suspect dinner is quite similar. This is not an easy restaurant to operate because of widely varied customer expectations and the lower level of discernment by Oklahoma people. In the end of the day, it’s just not SanFrancisco or New York. I feel your pain. It’s impossible to please both discerning clients and millenials so you opt for the lower common denominator. I can’t blame you but I think I will limit my future visits to cocktails with out of town visitors.
Made a reservation for a window side seat. The view is, well, vast. Valet parking seems to be the only option, and was worth the 10.00 if no other reason than the car was nice and warm on a chilly December evening. The walk thru the lobby of the Devon tower to the dedicated elevator was beautiful. When we arrived at the hostess station we were greeted by name, i think the valets give the hostesses a heads up, and seated immediately. The service was impeccible and the preparation of each dish was explained. Whe choseva pinot noir to go with our dinner and our server gave us a reccomendation of which one based on our orders..no it was not a more expensive one than we originally suggested. The portions are large and delicious. It is very pricey. 4 of us with appetizers, a couple of cocktails and a nice bottle of wine was around $$$$. Overall superb experience.
This was my first time at vast, and I was very pleased. I worked in fine dinning for a number of years, so I must say the thing that stood out most to me was the service. Our Waitress was awesome and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The food was great, although I do believe there are better tasting places out there. We got the Duck and the Lamb and they were good, but I have had better. I would go back again, I love the view but I think I would try something other than the duck and lamb.
This is a lovely dining experience with wonderful sunset views and amazing views of the city lights. Each staff member encountered was most gracious and responsive. A group of six ladies, we all ordered something different and all were delicious. We would love to return.
Passing through Oklahoma City on the end of a 3-month road trip, Vast was an unexpected surprise. We booked a table a few weeks in advance. Day of reservation receptionist was kind and gracious when I asked if we could be sated at a table with a view. Upon arrival, we were graciously greeted and led to a corner private table with the best view of the restaurant! Theo arrived immediately to fill our water glasses and greet us again. He was actually quite wonderful knowing in advance we would love a photo taken. Within minutes Eric our server introduced himself and for the rest of the evening, he absolutely 'made' our evening. Chef made our meal the most memorable in a very long time; their signature lamb chops (charred medium rare as requested) were perfection and the 23oz Bone In Rib-Eye made my very picky, foodie husband extremely happy! Celery soup divine! Wine recommendation spot on! Love when you are willing to spend $100plus on a bottle and recommended a $53 bottle of perfectly paired Pinot. Bravo to the staff at Vast! Chef, Eric and Theo thank you again for making our meal and evening perfect!
We enjoyed our visit to Vast in celebration of my husband's birthday. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable. The view over the City is breathtaking. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. He brought an extra little appetizer compliments of the chef and it was an amazing burst of flavors, well-executed. Our food was delicious and delightful. They even brought a birthday dessert out for my husband with an elegant small birthday banner on top.
Our 3 year old wanted to take Daddy to "the tower" for birthday dinner. We had never eaten at Vast before, and while we were certain our 3yo would behave, were still nervous. The staff gave us a corner booth with view of the whole city, provided fabulous service, accommodated my child, and suggested delicious food for us to try. We will return. What a fabulous experience!
The menu was excellent and so was the service. This was a birthday lunch for my wife. We decided to have the buffet. The Mongolian beef was great and the desert selection hit the spot. The spicy seafood soup was not too spicy (I am from southwest Louisiana and like spicy food). When you combine the food and the ambiance with the great view from 50 stories up, this was an excellent birthday celebration.
My wife and I visited OKC for the first time and were searching for some fine dining. Vast was recommended by a friend. We live in Dallas and love dining at fine restaurants. We were blown away at the quality of every aspect of the dining experience there! When I spend that kind of money I prefer a quiet, relaxed, and pleasant evening compared to most of the Dallas steak houses which are loud, busy, and hectic. I must say that Vast was as good a dining experience as we have ever had, and we have experienced some fine dining throughout the United States.
I absolutely love the environment, View, and overall setting. I went out for a bachelorette party and My Girls loved it so much! My friends and I have already recommended this place to anybody that is going into Oklahoma City. I tried my girlfriend's dinners and theirs was wonderful! I would definitely come back with my husband for a date if we ever come back to the city.
I went to Vast on the recommendation of a customer in OKC and had been told the view was incredible. As requested, I got the window table requested as i enjoyed my Botanist gin on the rocks (not a common one to be found in most bars). I had the grilled shrimp appetizer and was very impressed by the flavor and presentation. My waitress, although very nice, didn't exhibit the enthusiasm or in depth knowledge of another waiter at a nearby table. The food was hot, nicely presented, and flavorful. I had the 30 day aged strip which was properly cooked but rather laden with gristle and fat...something I wouldn't have expected with a strip. They were serving a mashed potato in a pot sticker pastry that was very good but the grilled vegetables were nothing at all out of the ordinary. The most disappointing point of the meal was the dessert menu. Something on the level of Vast could certainly benefit from a perfect creme brulee or souffle. Cookies and milk or bananas Foster parfait seemed like afterthoughts considering the rest of the menu options. I'll certainly visit Vast again for the ambience and drinks but will likely pass on dinner next time.
We enjoyed our dinner at Vast, the view of course is the star! We asked for a table by the window and they were happy to accommodate us. Service was very attentive and friendly. Caesar salad was great and hubby loved his octopus. I had the pork chop which I ordered medium, should have ordered medium rare as it was a bit dry, yet tasty. Now here is where it went downhill. All steaks come with a red wine sauce and hubs specifically asked for No Sauce. Naturally it showed up with sauce...yes, he could have sent it back but then my dinner would get cold. this was such an easy request and the waiter should have seen it before he brought our dinners out. Not sure we'd go back for dinner, maybe just a cocktail to see the views again!
