Vasco & Piero's Pavilion Restaurant
Vasco was born in Umbria and as a result of this many foods are sourced direct from farmers in this region. Particular favourites are truffles, wild mushrooms, seasoned cheeses and cured meats such as lombetto and capocollo.
We only use the best quality extra virgin olive oil mainly from Umbria, Central Italy.
Many of our hams & salames such as Lombetto (a cured loin of pork) are imported from local Umbrian farms.
When in season, we import black & white truffles from hunters around the hills of Umbria.
Our balsamic vinegar is from Modena. We use Maldon sea salt with pure flaky crystals.
Had a great time at V&P. The service was excellent. They had to move our reservation, but in the end it turned out just right. I would definitely recommend and go again when I am in London. Thank you.
This restaurant is always on point. Delicious food and great service.
Excellent authentic food just like my nonna makes! However, slightly over priced and they have a cover charge which was a bit unexpected for a London restaurant.
Lovely and cosy restaurant with excellent simple traditional Umbrian food with fresh ingredients. Great service and excellent value for money. Will come again!
It was great food but cramped environment.
This place is so welcoming and consistently serves outstanding food.
Outstanding service. I’ve been here at Vasco’s several times now and the food is consistently good. Terrific experience
The only restaurant where I feel comfortable eating alone.
Friendly staff trying hard. Food took longer than expected for a simple order but was tasty. Good place away from main bustle but close enough to palladium to be an ideal pre theatre eating place.
A friendly neighborhood Italian Soho restaurant that we loved. This is all about fresh high quality seasonal ingredients done simply and exceptionally well. The menu changes daily and the wine was fantastic. Great inexpensive go to Italian restaurant. Highly recommended!
Very enjoyable but a little pricey, especially for lunch.
Unreal. Amazing staff and the food was exceptional
While it’s located in SOHO, cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The owner is gentle and kind. We enjoyed so much. Will come again. Thank you.
Rich in taste food , cosy atmosphere and good service
Superb food and great atmosphere. Would definitely go back.
Warm Italian hospitality
A really reliable haven of calm, with proper and fresh Italian dishes from a warm and welcoming team.
This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who had used it for years. It lived up to the her rave review in every sense and the liver I ate for lunch was the finest I have ever experienced. I will definitely eat there again and would ( and already have) recommend it to others. Bravo.
Service was kind enough and food was reasonably good. I didn't appreciate the sneaky and cheap 2.50 GBP/person "cover charge" that was tacked on to the bill after dining on a quiet Tuesday night (there were only two other tables occupied- so obviously not a prime evening). We've been in Madrid and London for a month- and have never experienced such a charge before. Secondly, when it came time to get the check and then again to pay, I had to wave over someone- even though we were 10 feet away in clear sight- because the 3 employees were casually talking to each other. Finally, although I didn't ask for it, the woman who ran my credit card did so in USD. When I questioned why she did it- and that I wanted to be charged in GBP- she claimed she did (even though the receipt clearly showed otherwise). So I got hit with another 4% penalty for the exchange rate. We were out for my partner's birthday, so I didn't want to make a fuss in front of her. There are many fine choices for very good Italian food in London- and we wouldn't come back here again.
We go here fairly often and its a great venue for a business lunch, not too loud and the food is very good! the waiters are attentive whilst not rendering themselves intrusive.
We’ve spent two and a half weeks in Italy and London and this is the best food we have eaten. Popular, but minute tables for two unless you grab one of the two round tables. Superb pork roast, great liver and onions. Panettone bread pudding light as a feather. I could give the avocado in the starters a miss but understand where they are coming from. Authentic and definitely worth a detour.
Friday night so it was busy and a bit noisy but only to be expected. Food was good, service friendly but a bit slow though hardly surprising under the circumstances. Very likely to return when next in the area.
Great food and great service in a nice setting in the west end. Good for pre and post theatre meals!
Authentic Italian cooking in a convivial atmoshpere. Beats the big franchises any day of the week!
Top class food and service in a warm family atmosphere. Never fails to impress, time after time .
Always welcoming. Friendly service, great food. Lighting perfect. And no music! Wonderful
Vasco and Piero's is like a dear old friend. I hadn't been to visit for several years and the experience was a delight with friends pre-theatre early on Friday evening. We enjoyed generous starters of burrata, tuna sashimi, orange and fennel salad followed by cod, lemon sole, tagliatelle, lamb chops. All were very good. The service was absolutely charming. I am sure later in the evening there would have been more of a hub bub of conversation. we will definitely return.
Such a gem in the heart of London.
Will definitely come back
Very tasty food!
the experience was as good as it always is. we have been eating at V&P's for a number of years
It's not just that the food is so excellent. Of course that's a big deal. But, this food is all prepared with loving care; served with professional aplomb and was enjoyed by us immensely.
I have visited Vasco & Piero's before for lunch and on both visits the food and service were excellent. This time we went at 6:45 on a Saturday evening and it was a little quiet, but it did mean we got plenty of attention! We had great service from Vasco's son. Vasco himself was in the kitchen - just showing his passion for the place! Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
What a lovey restaurant. It’s deceptively good. Very simple menu and could be a tourist trap, but all the food is exactly as good as you hope a small local place would be but never is.
Wonderful staff and food. We arrived early but were made very welcome . Vasco himself advised of the food choices. Was fantastic
Lovely dinner. We were visiting from the states
We had a wonderful welcome. The service was very good indeed and the food outstanding. A perfect pre-theatre spot if you fancy a bit of a treat.
Very few Pasta dishes.
We have been here once before and were very impressed so we took American friends visiting London there for lunch.
The whole experience was good apart from the size of the main courses which were rather small and we were charged £5 for a salad that we did not have. Shame this was not noticed when we paid the bill!!"
We also thought that the price of the wine was extortionate at £30+ when I could buy it on line for £5.
I understand that a business has to make a profit but not ripping off customers in the process.
Excellent Italian restaurant at the heart of the West End but slightly off he beaten track. Authentic, freshly made and tasty cuisine from Umbria. One of the original founders Vasco, in his 80s now, is still in the kitchen cooking his delicious dishes for the guests. The service is very good. Very good selection of salads, fish & meat dishes, deserts. All the wines are Italian too.
Authentic and uncomplicated food served by people who care. Not infallible - my lemon sole was a very small fillet with a tiny amount of potato and spinach for £21. Worst dish of the table. Most everything else was great however, and this has become a regular for us.
Vasco & Piero is one of our go to restaurant when we go to London to enjoy West End theatre and museums. Authentic and modern interpretations of Puglia cuisine that are always superbly prepared with a moderate price point. Our last visit was equally satisfying.
This restaurant I have been going to for many, many years and the service, excellence of the food continues at a high standard. With the many choices in London this is a well kept secret of extraordinary satisfaction
