Great service, great drinks and delicious food! We had the charcuterie board, pear and goat cheese salad, Thai curry mussels, and beet hummus. Will definitely return.
Can’t tell if it’s a night club or a restaurant
Great food. Great atmosphere.
Some of the food was good some of it was poor. The charcuterie plate was really poor. The muscles in the curry sauce were quite good. We only had appetizers cuz the main meals did not look very appetizing. Drinks were good but nothing special. Our waitress was very unresponsive however as the night went on another waitress noticed and came over to pick up the slack. The ambiance was quite nice.
Cool yet cozy ambience with great cocktails and food!
Everything was amazing, can’t wait to go back!
The tangerine lime sour was super delicious, and the staff were kind and attentive, and the ambiance was classy without being fussy.
Lovely cocktails, great service and great setting! Looking forward to our next visit!
We sat there for 30
Minutes without being acknowledged. We finally left before we found even get a drink.
The sweet potato gnocchi and the coconut Thai mussels were simply amazing!!! The service was great and her recommendations were helpful. Would love to go back and try more dishes.
Made reservations for standard seating & they tried sitting us at a high top, when we asked to be sat at the open standard table they said they couldn’t because of COVID and our party of 4 was too big??? yet a few more minutes later they sat us at the standard table. Drink and service was great. Ordered a salmon and had to send it back because it was under cooked, I wasn’t upset at all & they came back comping the plate. That was appreciated and not expected. Overall great time but wouldn’t highly recommend.
Loved this place. Nice atmosphere, great for a casual get together. We didn't feel packed in and had excellent food
Way way too loud
Great cocktails, food, ambiance and staff. We love this place.
Great place to grab dinner and drinks with friends!
First time here and loved it. Food was really good and the ambiance was perfect for the birthday occasion. Can’t wait to come back.
Cool ambience and tasty drinks. Food is okay. Kitchen is shared with the Ivy so you might wait 40-60 minutes for your meal.
The whole experience was perfect. Really yummy food and amazing cocktails. Very attentive service. Definitely will return.
Friday’s are just great here, a perfect group get together place with a fantastic DJ, great food, nice seating, friendly service! Seems just a bit short staffed sometimes for how many large groups there are but you do get great service albeit sometimes slow.
Party of 4 instead of 5 we each ordered some food after waiting 30 minutes some one came to our table to tell us there was a mix up in the kitchen and the asked us our food order again. When our food did arrive only 2 plates were brought out all of us being polite we did not eat until all of the plates arrived. By the time we all started eating my food was cold Our waiter came by twice and apologized and said that he would talk to the manager to see what he could do to compensate us. That never happened. Don't think that I will go back there
Great vibe, awesome service, we loved the experience we will be back again when we visit salt lake next.
Varley old fashion was delicious. Truffle burger had a great spice to it.
I love the vibe here. It’s very chill and relaxed. The food is good and the drinks are good. The service is also outstanding.
Food was not great, and the service was pretty slow even though it wasn't busy. I'd probably go here for drinks, but not for dinner.
This was our second visit and we enjoyed another awesome evening with friends. Next thing we know 4 hours passed. Never once felt rushed. Service was exceptional and we really enjoy the vibe and feel. Until next time.
Service was terrible and rather uninformed server. They turned the lights down so low we couldn't see our food. Up down, up down, find a setting and stick with it. Then we had three different people ask if we were doing OK....it just seemed like a bunch of rookies were playing restaurant. Good vibe if the lights weren't almost off. Don't get the charcuterie board. Burger rocked though.
My fam and I got stuck in SLC traveling back to NYC! We made the best of it and went out to dinner! Our server was Luke, super nice and tentative. Food was delicious, music was fun! This is def an under 30 crowd as there was a dj and music was flowing. But it was subtle and not too loud. Even though our party was btwn the ages of 27 and 72…. The staff didn’t make us feel like we didn’t belong. They were friendly welcoming and fun!
I thought our drinks were very good (old fashion & whiskey sour). I felt like the burger was just average but had the potential to be more. The gnocchi was too garlicky. The lights would constantly dim which was super annoying. Our server was more interested in keeping this one party full of women serviced than making sure all the other tables had their basic needs met (like silverware, water & simply asking us if our meal was good). Our whole table ate our whole meal without any drinks.
Just a bar. Nothing special. Limited choices.
Great food and intimate location. Really like the bar setup at Varley. Staff was busy but did their best to be helpful and accommodating. Had a fantastic time!
Great place for my clients first date! They loved it!!
Great music, top notch staff, amazing food, interesting drinks
Food was amazing and music was really dope! Overall, the vibe of the place was great!
This was the first meal out that we've had in a very, very long time that impressed us. Cody, our server, was very attentive and helpful. He checked in with us often and also gave us space to just enjoy our drinks, meal and dessert. We had appetizers (olives and beet hummus). The beet hummus was amazing! Olives were spicy but not too much. I had the blistered salmon with pea salad and it was prepared perfectly; the peas were so fresh. My partner had the steak, Brussels and potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and cut like butter. Of course, I have to say something about the drinks! They are remarkable. Don't be fooled by the small size of the glasses -- each glass packs layers of flavor and a punch. Enjoy. You can't go wrong. Also, the seating is intentionally spread out and so you have privacy and distance from others in the restaurant. I look forward to returning.
What a great location! These guys have done a great job creating a warm and inviting space.
The ONLY drawback for me is that while Varley and The Ivy next door share a kitchen (they're owned by the same company), they don't share a menu. So I couldn't order a Chicken Caesars Salad, but they offered to sell me a regular salad with Caesar's dressing and a side of chicken so it was pretty close.
What I ended up with tasted great, so I can't complain about that. But it just seems dumb that while the chef was making my quasi Caesars Salad, they were very likely making a real Caesars Salad right next to it.
Overall, the experience was great and I'll go back. But I'll go knowing that a shared kitchen doesn't mean a shared menu.
We came for a Bday part and the ambiance was amazing!!! Our server was so fun and kind. Also the truffle burger the fries, the Gnocchi all sooooo good!!!!
Loved it! Cody was great and the mussels (which I also get at the Ivy - YUM) we're delicious. The Mandarin Lime Sour was great, too, but I would have loved a whole pitcher ;)
It was great first time experience! Our food was awesome, server was fantastic— he always made sure we were doing okay and his attitude was happy and positive he made us feel very comfortable, we sure did enjoy it. Plan on visiting soon again!
Sexy lighting. Swanky setting. Great service. Very good food. Vegetarian bowl didn’t miss a meat accompanying it. Drinks were reasonably priced but very small. Would visit again.
Exceptional service, Both the bartender & server were great, inviting and funny. The food was amazing everyone in our party loved each dish and I had to try my kids serving’s as well the sweet potato gnocchi is incredible, the truffle burger has the best flavors and those fries yummy, the cashew bowl is delicious... I will be back!!
