Absolutely GREAT RESTAURANT! Food was amazing, the service was outstanding, the decor was beautiful and the vibe was great! My date and I had a good time; I would seriously recommend Vandal to any and everybody.
I do not like the small portions, I do not like that there are no sides with the main course, I do not like that you can't add anything to your main dish. Overall the place is good for pics and clout. The main course was like an appetizer. I wasn't happy with the food at all. Even the soda was awful. A waste of money on food.
It was a great experience. The staff was amazing. The art was breath taking. It always best to reserve a spot. They made our anniversary special. It was amazing!!!
The decor was novel and fun. The menu was creative and the food was delicious. We really enjoyed both the meal and the ambiance. The avocado toast and the sashimi appetizers were definite winners, but everything we had was great. If I had one negative it is the location. We walked from the Soho area and we were a bit uncomfortable in the block surrounding the restaurant, especially when we were approached by a seemingly crazed individual and and then walked by another man peeing in the open on the wall of the building next door. If I go back I would definitely Uber right to the door.
I’m a picky eater so there wasn’t really anything on the menu i could eat or even wanted to. Not a big variety of stuff. If you like steak then it’s a good find and they have good drinks my friends said. The restaurant is beautiful though
AMAZING Experience. Shane our server was the BEST!
I always love this place.
Everything was yummy... Lots of flavor and very cool vibe. Great NYC fun.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. We are a bit older so we didn’t like being in the middle of 3 different little girl birthday parties. Besides that, the atmosphere, service and food were great! Our waitress treated us special for his birthday. We’ll be back and request to be away from the kiddie table :)
Unbelievably fun experience - from the front door to the dining room, it's a sensory wow! Food options are numerous and all the apps are great to share - best with a big group so you can taste the options and there are many. Kind of Mexican, kind of Asian - very very loud and young.
I cannot think of one thing that I didn't enjoy at Vandal! I had a reservation and had to wait an additional 15 minutes. But the hosts were very hospitable and apologized profusely. The drinks, food, wait staff and ambiance were all A1! I recommend to anyone in or visiting NYC. This will become a regular spot for me
Thank you Erica Pulicicchio(GM) for making my birthday dinner a memorable and pleasant one - your reactive approach definitely makes a difference in hospitality!
Great food, service and ambiance!
The ambiance was amazing! The food was delicious. Will definitely go again!
Food was good, nice and chill place. Good ambience. The service was A's.
Great place for a special occasion or just hanging with the girls. Good drinks and Tapas !
The food was great and the waitress was good too. I was just very disappointed when my family and I were leaving and one of the bouncers in the front didn’t know we spoke Spanish and “jokingly” said that we should leave when we were trying to figure out if we should go to the club or not. This is not the kind of establishment where after spending $500 on food I should deal with this kind of disrespect. I really hope you speak to your staff and teach them how to be a reflection of your establishment.... unless the staff you have already is a reflection. If that’s the case, no need for me to ever return.
Vandal is a "go-to" spot for me to take people who want to experience a "hip" New York scene. The cuisine is inspired by street food from around the world. Vandal serves up a mix of everything from Chicken parm to tacos to hamachi. Everything is delicious, including their drinks. This place never fails to impress!
The only thing that seemed a bit out of place was their servers. They have them dressed in very drab t-shirts like they work in TGI Fridays, not polished at all. Their t-shirts are cut down to make sure they are showing cleavage, but there is no polish to them at all, which I found odd. In contrast, their hostesses are very done up and polished. It's the details. Details. The music is also very loud. I know that is how most places in New York are, but it is so loud that you can't hear the person across the table from you. So don't think you will be having an intimate conversation here.
The bar in the restaurant has a great scene if you are looking to mingle. It's always filled with a trendy crowd, and the drinks are great. The downstairs club is always popular, although I would hope it would have more of the same flare as you have upstairs. In contrast, it feels very posh and elegant with a wrap around bar and velvet couches.
This place is a must try! Definitely check it out! It's one of my top choices in New York!
Great Vibe and Great Food
Very good service, food OK, but too expensive, place too much girly for us.
Thomas is awesome
Love this place, great scene, food, strong drinks, decor, atmosphere, great for birthday parties!!!
Great atmosphere and awesome food. It presents unique and modern American cuisine. Personally, Dumpling soup was the best.
Space was very interesting with large dining rooms and amazing art work. Music being played was great-upbeat but no infringing on the conversation.
Service was poor from the from desk to out waiter.
Felt we were being rushed and their was no warmth from the staff. Signed the 500 tab and was finishing our wine and the manager was over our table talking in his walkie taking our glasses away.
Needs better service and welcoming energy from the staff.
Last time we were in the city we were told to eat here and didn't, so it was on the list this time. We were not disappointed. Our server was spot on and gave us great recommendations off the menu. We came in for an early dinner so it was very quiet. The lobster pasta is to die for and the crispy bao buns were a great starter
Excellent experience, great service backed by great food, I will be back!
For 7pm dinner the room lights were to bright. The artwork for sale in the foyer is to in your face “for sale”. The staff was dressed H&M casual and not inline with the restaurants theme. Last but not at all the least they forgot my spinach and by the time the waitress came back to check on me it was to late to enjoy it with my steak. I have enjoyed Vandal many times during their inaugural year and my return after a several years was disappointing. It is not the same vibe that it once was.
Food was amazing!
Meh...not that impressed by the food. The grape cocktail was worth coming back for but def not the food.
The service was excellent and the place is very nice. The food was pretty good but not good enough for the price. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, salmon and margarita pizza. After we finished our meal we wanted to go to the lounge, the manager was nice enough to take us there without having to exit the restaurant.
Food is beyond terrible. 🤢
I went for my bday dinner. The ambiance is great. Love the artwork. I made a reservation about 30 days in advance. I had a cake ordered. It was a little annoying to order the cake. I called to order per the message on the website. And then the rep
Told me to get the form online. I didn’t see it. Had to call back. Next rep sent it to me via email. I sent it back on a Friday. Called to confirm receipt on the Monday. Had to leave a message. Didn’t hear anything back and the order form said you have to order within 72 hours of your reservation which was coming up. I called again the Wednesday and made the person check the email for receipt. I think that process can be done a little smoother. But other than that the food was great. I had the sweet potato fries and the shredded chicken tacos. My friends had the personal pepperoni pizzas. My drink was great. Can’t remember the name but it had grape in it i believe. The music was good too. Top 40 hits maybe with some dance music. Wanted to try the club but the crowd didn’t seem like it was my type. I would def come again.
Nice, busy, energetic restaurant with great food but a bit slow:uncoordinated service. I will recommend though and it’s great for small groups having a night out.
Loud, hard to have a conversation. Young 20-30 something crowd. Service poor, we complained and manager was responsive but wegot the impression she gets lots of complaints. Waitress was quite rude and clearly overworked. Menu ok not extensive. Tao better food and slightly nicer ambience. Would not return and neither would anyone on our dining party
Best place in the city I recommend Saturday night and hitting the lower level club after your meal
The restaurant is absolutely stunning. The art was so beautiful, I couldn’t take my eyes off the walls! Our food was delicious & our server was so helpful. Looking forward to going back!
The service was awful. The staff acted like they were part of a machine. Repeating the same lines, forgetting what they had already asked us, and pushing us out as quick as possible, all with tons of attitude. It really affected the whole dining experience.
Great vibes and dining experience, but unpardonably long wait times (45-minutes) despite having a reservation
It was amazing!
