Great food. Multiple veggie options, great gnocchi dish.
We had an amazing experience at Vana-everything was great!
The food was good. Our server was nice but we didn’t get our cocktails at all. The restaurant only had one bartender. I wouldn’t mind trying it out again.
Beautiful locAtion, peaceful seating, amazing specials and drinks
Found this little gem before our flight back to California and it was absolutely tremendous
Very enjoyable experience. Great food, pleasant atmosphere. My wife and I are extremely hard to please when it comes to restaurants (She's eats Paleo and went to culinary school) and we had our fare share of bad dining experiences in Maui. Vana was a very pleasant surprise and left us both smiling.
This is my first review of a restaurant ever. The server took her time after we were sat to get to us. Then was hasty with trying to deliver the check. Seemed as though she wanted to rush us out. The wine was over priced. Paid 18 for a 4 ounce pour of Pinot noir. I don’t mind paying for a fine meal and drink, but the tab was a little too proud for what we got.
For us this is the best restaurant on Maui. Not the usual food, the usual plates. Everything is pretty much refined, well paired, well combined and well balanced. If you are hungry your dinner will cost you something but it is worth every bite.
Antonio was a delight! We had the best brunch of my friends trip at Vana. The food is always amazing here, but the service this day was by far the very best I’ve received here on island. Antonio went the extra mile to make sure we were taken care of and had the most wonderful dining experience possible. He was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, warm and so much fun. What a truly fantastic morning spent here at Vana. Thank you Antonio for all the extra care and attention to details! I’ll be back and so will my friend when she returns. Our food was delicious too.... grapefruit mimosas, the crab omelette and we even were able to enjoy the black sesame cheesecake for desserts... no ka oi!!! After dining in the resorts and 5 star restaurants..., This was my friends favorite restaurant experience and even though the food was incredible, this was her favorite one all because of Antonio!! Mahalo Antonio!
Nice atmosphere. Very boutiquey feel. Pricey especially for drinks. Limited menu other than sushi. Friendly though.
Danny, the bartender on Wed., Thurs., Fri., Sun., and every other Saturday, makes the BEST mocktails! Food wonderful, different but the usual Paia or Maui food and everyone is SO nice. Love atmosphere.
It's a little hard to find, situated at the very back of the Paia Inn, a small boutique hotel. But Vana serves some of the very best sushi I've ever eaten.
I do love this restaurant, and I typically order sushi. But last time, I ordered the filet. The filet was delicious and perfectly prepared, but I was left hungry with the vast empty real estate on the rest of the plate. How about some potatoes, parsnips or sauteed veggies? At $42 per plate, adding some accompaniments to this dish certainly would have not killed your margin.
Food was good; service was rushed. Served hot and cold dishes at the same time. Wine prices -OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Absolutely perfect dining under a beautiful tree. Staff was attentive and had great suggestions. Amazing sushi!!
We love everything about Vana for brunch. The food, service and ambiance makes for a perfect meal.
The sushi at Vana is excellent. Feel free to go off menu and have the sushi chef make whatever he wants for you. You will be pleased with the results.
We had never gone to this restaurant and we had been told it was amazing. I don’t think amazing is the correct word. We ordered just about everything on the menu and everything came out like it was on a pallet and that an artist had spent hours doing. This is a Must go to place and is a hidden gem in a little town. I cannot wait to go again. UNBELIEVABLE. And I must say Nobu and all these other restaurants like that are our favorites but this one tops them all.
The food was exceptional. We were blown away by one taste sensation after another. In order to fully experience Vana's unique amazing menu... I recommend ordering many of the dishes and passing them around the table. The filet was unreal. Our server was also very polite and attentive. The setting is lovely outside under a beautiful canopy tree in the tropical breeze. Very small portions and quite pricey but an overall fabulous experience for a special occasion. l like that you can make a reservation online too.
You can double park in the lot next to it and bring your keys to the lobby. Parking is very limited. Or park behind Charleys and walk over.
Soooo amazing! Such an unexpected surprise. We were looking for a place to hang out and have one last Hawaiian meal close to the airport. Vana ended up being our dining experience on the island! Definitely go check it out. The chefs are amazing both for their Hawaiian spirit and Morimoto inspiring cooking
I enjoy the ambiance and the food is delicious, we had a memorable time. Will repeat...
Exceptional Food and Service. Best Restaurant and sushi bar on Maui. Finally Maui has a place to go for ambiance and a special night out. Love the bar and cocktails and delicious food. 10 all around.
First time dining at Vana and we really enjoyed it. Eric, the bartender was great and definitely enhanced our experience. Food was pretty good, could nit pick a few things but overall it was good. There was really only one dish we weren’t stoked on. The only other thing I was bummed on was looking at a menu online before going in, getting excited to try a few things and then getting there and not having those items on the menu, but hey everything’s seasonal and fresh so I get that. We had a really lovely date night all in all. Want to come back and try brunch.
Food was healthy and delicious, service and staff were impeccable.
The ambiance is the best thing at Paia's new restaurant, Vana. We wish the food was a bit better and the service too. The waitress we had was trying most of the time to give good service, but maybe inexperienced? There are some thing that waitresses should just "know" in a fine dining restaurant. Most items on the menu are tasty and fresh, but they're just missing the "wow" factor that makes you want to go back for more. The cocktails are lovely to look at, but again just missing the extra "wow" . If we compare to Nuka in Haiku or Lineage in Wailea then Vana is just very average. If we compare to other restaurants in Paia, then it's probably one of the best at this time.. will we go back? Yes definitely for the ambiance and there aren't any other options in the same category.
Tried a number of brunch spots throughout Maui, but Vana’s was clearly the best. (Had acai bowl and shashouka - don’t miss!). The quality of food is was makes this a 5/5.
Great ambiance, good food. Service was wonderful, waitress was very knowledgeable on food and drink menu. Great wine options. Overall great meal and enjoyable experience. Will be back to try the brunch menu.
We really enjoyed this cozy nook and the creative, tasty food they served for breakfast. The service wasn't the warmest or most attentive but other than that there weren't any issues. I would definitely go back.
Great new find for us. Will be back for sure!!!
Decor and setting is very nice. Location makes it very quite. Went for breakfast and food quality was really good but slightly pricey. Sides are also pricey ($4 for toast ?). Hostess was also our server and busser. She was nice but a little busy at times. Didn’t bother us as we weren’t in a rush; we were enjoying the ambiance. Overall, great experience and can’t wait to try their dinner menu which looks amazing!
I could eat here every day, but usually come in for brunch on weekends. We live on the other side of the island and love everything about this place. We don’t mind the drive! The food is what brings us in, but service is always warm and welcoming.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Definitely recommend and will go back.
The sushi is good, and the service is amazing.
Everything we ordered was amazing except the crab cakes - not good at all but otherwise the food was excellent. We tried just about everything else with 3 teens and 2 adultss - all foodies. Ambience could be better - seating is not comfortable - doesn’t make you want to stay and enjoy the atmosphere - easy to fix and we hope they do!
Food was amazing. Too expensive though
Loved the food delicious.
Our visit to Maui included stays in Napili, Paia, Kihei and Hana. We dined at many, many locations and this was, BY FAR, THE ABSOLUTE BEST VALUE! Everything we tried from the menu was amazing and the prices were incredibly reasonable. I really hope they stay true to their form and don't change like so many great places do.
If you enjoy fresh, local food prepared with a thoughtfulness to complimentary flavors that are new and interesting, this is your place.
Wonderful romantic dinner. Seared ama ebi with caviar. Kauai prawns grilled with a spicy peanut sauce Devine. The som recommended some sake I had never heard of and took the rest of the bottle to go. Love this place. This is the best restaurant for foodies on the island. Bring a romantic date. Reasonable prices given the high quality and fine dining. We sat at the chefs table and watched the talented chefs. The ambiance and setting and food are all a 10.
With all the great places in Paia, sorry I wasted my time here
The food was good but small in portions considering $21 for eggs Benedict’s and part of the dish they ran out of however informed me that it was 86’d. The focaccia bread was a small square and really it took me a minute to realize it was there. Portions need to be a bit bigger not the The Cheesecake Factory type but bigger to make spending $21 on a single entree. I found that $10 for a small bottle of sparkling water was a lot as well but found out it was for two small bottles but wasn’t advertised on menu. The tables are a lot better and more comfortable seating. Signature Cocktails weren’t available for brunch so maybe make a different menu to reflect what you can order. Overall I’d recommend the restaurant to my friends who don’t mind spending $50 per person.
