Bellarine Peninsula's Van Loon's is a favourite amongst locals, visitors and foodies for its modern and fresh take on Australian cuisine, served in its picturesque restaurant surroundings. Indoor & alfresco seating available for reservations as well as a large garden seating area available for walk-ins. Can't find a table? Contact the cafe directly to assist.
Some of Van Loon's specialty/popular dishes include the fish and chips, VLC Big breakfast, and Buddha Bowl as well as vegetarian, plant based and Gluten free options.
Van Loon's house made scones, served with jam and cream or perhaps Vanilla slice is the perfect dessert with which to finish your meal.

    Great coffee, we shared the breakfast platter for 2, OMG it was delicious, a lot of food, a bit much for me but what I didn't eat my partner almost finished off, will definitely have it again.

    The scones are usually fabulous but on this visit they were crumbly and not very tasty. My scone had a huge lump of raw flour in it which i picked out and when I alerted the staff, I wasn't offered any compensation. She only apologised and said she'd inform the kitchen. It is not cheap to dine here and I expected more. I am dining there again tomorrow with a different friend and I hope its a lot better.

    Tremendous! No complaints. A great variety on the menu and numerous specials. We had a curry, nutritional bowl, smashed avo and bacon and eggs. All meals were delicious. Followed with coffees, carrot cake, orange syrup cake and a blueberry toast. Couldn’t fault anything. What impressed us was the availability of gluten free meals for one guest. So many choices. Next time we will dress for cooler conditions. It was a freezing day outside and very cool inside. Staff did give us blankets which were helpful. The gift shop was ace too!

    On really cold days be prepared that your coffee will go cold very quickly and so will your meal making it not as tasty as it should be.

    This is such an enjoyable outing, when we decide to eat at Van Loon’s Nursery Cafe. Cannot fault it in any way, even the Conservatory on a wet and windy day! So glad this is in my neighbourhood 😁

    The food is always delicious, the service is great and we are always pleased when our waitress is Summer as she is extremely attentive, very friendly and always ensures we enjoy ourselves.

    I live locally and eat at the cafe quite regularly. I brought two friends from Melbourne, who had never been before, and they loved it! They were very impressed with the food, service and location, which all made their day a great one. Thank you.
