   Lovely restaurant space at this inn often used for special events but open to the public. We had scallops and oysters that were excellent, celery root soup that was sent out of the kitchen stone colds but remedied and very good, and the ploughman's platter which was pretty good but could probably use some more select cheeses. It was our first visit, and we will be back.

   Went for a restaurant week . Service was good, the food was fine but not exceptional, kind of lukewarm, not hot as I would prefer! The decor in the dining room was sparse but the drinks were good!

   The meal at Valley was truly excellent. The wait staff were attentive and very pleasant to interact with. The food was exceptional - flavorful and well prepared. And the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. Bravo!

   Went here for Restaurant Week. Amazing deals and foods we tried. Lovely views and service was great; did not feel rushed at all and able to answer any questions we had about the dishes. Will return again in the future to try out their seasonal menus!

    We adore coming to the Garrison to visit Valley Restaurant. For a weekend brunch or an anniversary dinner or birthday celebration. It’s a home away from home with the staff making you feel like family and the food leaving you full and impressed. James is one of a kind and Daniel is a fabulous server who remembers the importance details of our likes and dislikes. Truly, stop in, you will not be disappointed.

    Valley is our favorite restaurant. We love the beautiful atmosphere, exquisite views, and the amazing food. From the moment you walk in, James and his team make you feel right at home. We’ve had the pleasure of being served by Daniel many of our visits over the years, who is extremely kind and knowledgeable. The food is outstanding, from the bread you receive at the beginning of your meal and all the way through dessert, everything is top notch. I love that the ingredients are locally sourced. We’ve been coming here for about seven years now, and every single experience has been wonderful. I cannot recommend Valley enough for a perfect meal.

    We arrived just in time to catch a beautiful sunset. The staff were all very friendly and professional. Our apps (oysters for me, and lobster fritters for my wife) were outstanding. Dinners were great as well. We enjoyed chatting with James and everyone else. We'll be back many times I'm sure.

    Another great meal at Valley. We did not have tickets for the Shakespeare festival, but took advantage of their price fixed meal since we had not been there in a while. All the dishes we had were excellent, from the wonderful rolls and butter to dessert, and generous portions (clearly the normal size from the menu even though the meal was at a reduced price). Always great to see manager James and server Daniel. I wish the regular prices weren't so high, or we'd be regulars. But I guess quality comes at a cost. We sat outside for the first time (we've always eaten in the dining room), and it was lovely.

    We enjoyed our meals very very much. But the service was to aggressive. Kind of rushed us through the courses. Perhaps you should ask guests whether they will be attending the show to better gage the speed of service.

    Good value for the money with an excellent prix fixe menu at the time we went, which was after the HVSF theater matinee. Excellent choices for a 3 course meal for $55 per person. We had the steak dish which was prepared to perfection.. Service was wonderful and we sat on the outdoor deck since the weather was beautiful. Nice spot for dinner surrounded by nature and views of the Hudson River and Storm King Mountain. Well worth the visit!

    Great place to get dinner before a show at HVSF. My wife and I had the pre-fixe dinner. Good sized portions for $55 but I didn’t feel stuffed, which was ideal for then going to watch a play. We were super casual, jeans and t-shirt and sat on the deck, the view and weather was beautiful in early sept.

    The service was excellent. They offer a 3-course pre-show menu which had a great selection for each course. The food was fresh and delicious. The drinks were great. If you are in the area, it is a nice place for a good meal with a view (or some drinks at the bar) at any time, but I highly recommend it for a relaxing, filling meal before a show at the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. (The theatre is just steps away from the restaurant. It couldn't be more convenient.)

    Wonderful venue for dinner before the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Gorgeous spot -- all very bright, open and airy -- delicious food, and incredibly professional but super friendly staff. Had a great time and then just steps from the theater tent. Plan to go back in the fall to enjoy the spectacular views when the foliage is at full peak.

    This was our first visit to Valley Restaurant. We truly enjoyed the prix fixe menu before a performance of Hudson Valley Shakespeare. The food was wonderful and all of the staff at the restaurant we’re attentive and made sure they had a lovely rapport with us. We will definitely be back!

    Great food, great service, amazing views. Decor and entrance made me feel a little hesitant at first as it felt very meh. But the views service and food totally erased that piece in my mind. Mushroom pasta was excellent, fresh oysters, steak, burrata, shishitos, all excellent. As was dessert. Highly recommend.

    First time dining here and was very impressed with the service. The food was very good. The setting was quaint and inviting. We would have liked to dine outside unfortunately the day was too windy. That being said we will definitely dine here again whenever we are in the area!
