   They said they lost our reservation and sent the chef home. Came all the way from Sonoma to find out they blew it. The wine was good and they comped us a couple bottles but dinner sucked since it didn’t happen. They failed.

   I've visited Valley of the Moon a few times this year and it never fails to impress. This time around we made reservations for lunch and found the selection to be delicious. The pairings and menu worked fab together and our group shared a charcuterie board, cheese board, and multiple bottles of wine. We sat on comfy outdoor patio chairs and were nicely shaded by the sails they've hung over the dining area. The ambience was very fun with James, the tasting room manager, showing up exactly when we needed/wanted. James shares knowledge without making it too fru-fru and has an excellent sense of humor that fit in with our group perfectly. This winery is a hidden gem in Glen Ellen and I can't recommend it enough!

   The food and wine tasting experience here was awesome. We did the 4 course dinner tasting with wine pairing and I don't think there is a better option for a unique wine country experience. The chef, Sam was great. He greeted each guest and shared a little about the food and himself at every course. 100% worth it!

   This review is the for the four course dinner tasting menu with the wine pairing that comes in at a great price value of $55 per head. Listed below are some notes about the experience: You will have your choice of seating inside the tasting room or on tables outside and because it is after the tasting room has closed, it is actually quite spacious and quiet. The staff is very attentive and will happily chat with you about the food or wine if you engage with them. Note that this is a tasting menu and not a buffet, so they are small plates. That being said, I finished the meal happy and satisfied.

   We’ve been wine club members for over a year now, and we always enjoy our time at the winery. The addition of the Window Block kitchen has been welcomed, as it expands our options beyond the traditional charcuterie options. Today we had the new margherita pizza that chef has started to make with the new fire oven that he’s got there. It was quite good! And I see chef’s calm chowder is back on the fall menu (which makes me disappointed I had lunch before heading to the winery, as chef has the best calm chowder I’ve ever had). Overall, the Window Block Kitchen at Valley of the Moon Winery is a great experience to dine among the 120 year old vines.

   This is one of the Best places in the area for amazing service food and wine all in one spot. Every time I get within a couple hours it’s no question I am headed straight to Valley of the Moon. Top notch in every way. I ate twice in the two days while in the area and both meals were perfect and exceeded my expectations. I am a club member and very impressed in the food as well. The staff is the best around.
