We love Valley Goat! We came for brunch and practically ordered the entire menu. Faves were the asparagus, the crunchy quinoa with the poke, and pork belly. Marianne from Toronto remembered us and said hello. Best was taking a fan-girl pic with Chef.

We really enjoyed the food, but the service could be improved. Two blemishes: 1. Our mocktails didn't come with straws/stirrers to mix the drinks. We had to use our knives to mix the drink. 2. After we're given a dessert menu, our server didn't come back to our table for a very long time. By then, we're no longer in the mood of having desserts.

Very energetic crowd. Definitely a happening place! There were 2 large events going on a Wednesday evening. The food is very flavorful and tasty. Loved everything that we ordered. There was some mix up about an appetizer, it didn't show up after inquiring about it. Was told the kitchen staff is overwhelmed, they would take it off the bill, then we magically got 2 orders of it! Would love to go back during lunch time to see if its calmer atmosphere.

Food was great! And the ambience is fantastic. Service was fast and efficient. Only comment for improvement is that we wish they have paid attention to what we were celebrating when we booked the table. We may have expected a little more special service, like how other restaurants may have written happy birthday on the plate or a card. Another table somehow got a candle on their ice cream but we got nothing. Hence, it’s an okay dining experience. Kudos to the chef as the flavors of the dishes are really cohesive and well executed.

My first visit at Valley Goat was when they first opened, and it was delicious. This is my second time at Valley Goat and it was a disappointment. I felt every dish was swimming in sauce. I don’t know if I just ordered the wrong combination of dishes? The spicy hand roll dip with nori chips was fine; the shrimp salad, the green beans and the skuna bay salmon were all overwhelmingly overloaded with sooo much sauce. The salmon sauce profile also tasted a little strange. Disappointing. The bar tender had said 2-3 dishes per person and i think there were too many dishes.

The food was unique, delicious, came out quickly and served and explained perfectly. Jose our server was excellent, knew the menu front to back and helped us make excellent choices!! The whole staff from start to finish were wonderful. This is a Gem in Sunnyvale!

We were really looking forward to our Father’s Day brunch at Valley Goat, but the experience ended up being pretty disappointing. It took over 20 minutes for anyone to come by or even offer us water after being seated on the patio. It was really hot out with no shade, so we asked to move tables. The server said okay and told us to move over after he took our order. Someone from the host stand came over after we were seated and said that we couldn’t sit there. After some back and forth, the host eventually let us stay at the new table, but the whole thing was uncomfortable and added to an already rocky start. Service overall was spotty—we were offered more water once, but it took a while, and aside from clearing our plates, no one really checked on us. To be fair, our server and the busser seemed totally overwhelmed, so I don’t think it was their fault. It felt like they were just understaffed. The food, though, was fantastic. The potato pancake and asparagus dishes were standouts, and the cocktail I had was complex and really tasty. Overall, the kitchen nailed it, but the service issues took away from what should’ve been a special day. Hopefully just an off day, because the food was really great.
