Great service and ambiance. The food was great as well.
Excellent food and service. Able to have a conversation
We celebrated my friends birthday. We ordered the special and the ahi tuna open sandwich - AMAZING CHOICES! Bother dishes were very flavorful. The service was great! We never needed to ask for more water or more napkins or anything. The waitress was very attentive. We are regulars - can’t get enough of this place!
Zeer lekker eten, mooie inrichting. De airco stond echter zeer hoog, wat het wat minder aangenaam maakte.
My husband and I had an excellent dinner at Valerie! We chose it because of it's ambiance, menu and proximity to the broadway show we were seeing. We were extremely pleased by the service and quality of food and drinks. We were given complimentary champagne as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary (very pleasantly surprised!) and enjoyed gin cocktails thereafter. We sat at a table in the upstairs bar and had excellent service. We have already recommended it to family who live in the city and we shall be back!
Fantastic food and setting. Relaxed atmosphere for NYC but highest quality of food
The staff was excellent. The atmosphere is great. Loved it. Will definitely be back. The Flatbread was delicious. The specialty vodka drink was awesome.
Valerie is located close to the Times Square/Theater District area so it is easy to walk over to catch a show. Street parking is less of a challenge in the evening after 8 pm but still a challenge. When you enter Valerie, you are met by an open area with a bar on the left with shelves reaching the second level. There is table seating toward the back and upstairs; it was the former that we were escorted to for our dinner. The room was small and seating was tight; the wood paneling made it feel cozy. It is an area which would work for small private parties. Our server worked her way around the tight quarters to bring us menus and take our drink orders; my cocktail could not be ordered since they ran out of an ingredient but at least they had a favorite brand of beer. Our appetizer of beef steamed buns were amazing--the right touch of spicy and sweet and warm. My wife's steak entree was prepared to her liking and she relished every forkful; I had a fantastic scallop dish with a black rice risotto which was undeniably tasty and filling.
When we left Valerie we were floored by the size of the after-work crowd enjoying their happy hour. This newish establishment had apparently found its mojo! Nice dining experience!
Would’ve been 5 stars except the food and service. Our server was wonderful— when we saw him. But not his fault, as he was the only server in our room of full tables. He did great but was not setup for success. The food was pretty mediocre. It was cooked properly but nothing that would draw you back, which was disappointing as we were celebrating a special occasion. However, the ambiance of this place is amazing! I’d recommend taking your date elsewhere for dinner coming here for pre-/post-drinks.
The bar area is beautiful but the seating areas inside are not that nice. The food was okay but we didn't find any reason to eat there again, especially that it is pricey for an average quality meal.
The cocktail and baby gem salad were delicious. We also loved the mac and cheese. The prices were very reasonable
Brunch at Valerie was great. Our party was seated right after we arrived. Brunch and cocktails were delicious. We would return.
Amazing brunch. The gin and tonic drinks they offer are amazing especially the the “oaked” version.
The brunch hash is an incredible dish. The ambience is amazing and far superior to places at a similar price point!
We were a party of 6. We all agreed that the food we were served was the best ever. But I'm pretty sure that my French Toast was better than anyone else's choice. Truly delicious food, lovely place and great service.
The food was amazing service was good bar took long was seated prior to getting a drink.
The food and drinks were incredible. The decor was absolutely stunning as well. Ordered the steam buns, cesar salad, sopresetta flatbread and the scallops, all of which are an absolute must. The waiter was great and would highly recommend!
Great drinks! Amazing food & great service! This place never disappoints!
We got oysters, burrata, I had the scallops and the happy hour Prosecco. The scallops were really good. The burrata was good, nothing to write home about. The Prosecco was not the freshest, I'd assume the bottle had been opened. The restaurant is very loud, kinda hard to have a conversation without yelling. But the service is really fast, so if you are trying to catch a show, you'll be fine!
Great ambiance and the brunch was amazing! Highly recommend the salmon Benedict. The Bloody Mary is smokey (and the mix is housemade) - which isn’t my favorite but that’s just my personal taste.
We made a reservation and then we were sat in the bar area and could barely hear one another because of the area. The staff also wasn’t trained on what type of drinks and questioned our basic cocktail request
Had dinner with 2 friends in a Friday evening after work. Very nice seasonal cocktail menu and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the seared scallops over super buttery black risotto studded with diced butternut squash. I tasted the lentils served with my friend’s salmon, also delicious
Very glad we were seated in the back, behind heavy drapes, as it muffled the noise from the very lively bar area.
Exceptional service, water glasses filled promptly. We spent almost 3 hours there and never felt rushed.
This restaurant is well located on 45th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. Our reservation was for 12:30 PM and we were seated promptly. This was a lunch with my young adult daughter. Of course, I was hoping that we would be able to have conversations during the lunch. We were seated in a spacious second floor alcove. About half of the tables in this area were unoccupied, and the tables were well spaced apart. Yet the noise level (from conversations at the other tables) was very high and I could not hear my daughter seated across the table from me. So, the mission was not accomplished. Each of us had a salad. My salad was OK, but nothing special. My daughter had a salad, and consumed all of it. Service was fine. The tab for lunch was $45, and I added a tip of $8. When I saw the charge on my credit card account, the $8 tip had been removed. How odd!
Food was yum, and the people we invited seemed reasonably happy with the choice. But it was far too loud for me. I had booked this for a work dinner and spaces which reverberate sound like this are my pet peev. It makes the ambiance so uncomfortable. I probably should have done more research about the sound before I booked.
Decent but don’t like the auto generated 20pct service fee when the party is over 6 people.
Great spot if you need something close to Times Square but want to get away from the noise and crush of tourists. Staff was great and the food was good. We were able to linger and chat for an hour or two (tip your server, everyone) and it wasn’t too loud and we didn’t get the stink eye.
Service was terrific. We really enjoyed the jazz band during the Sunday brunch. Food was delicious! Great experience. Thank you.
Loved our server, food was good and different. Our only disappointment was that the jazz band never actually set up and got started while we were there!
We went for a late night (post theater) dinner on our walk back to our hotel and were not disappointed. The service was good and the food was terrific! My only real complaint is that it's so dark inside that not only was it impossible to read the menu, but I really couldn't even see what I was eating. Delicious, but not sure what it was. :-)
Food and service was excellent. Drinks were way overpriced though
First time here. Beautiful venue with great food and drinks
Went on Sunday 6 with a friend. Ambiance was good, hostess at the front super nice. Waiter started a bit off, he took a while to bring us our drinks but after that he was really good it could have also been the bartenders fault. Anyways the food was horrible I ordered the pasta and it was somewhat cold. I did not want to be a problem and was starving so I ate it anyways and got sick. My friend said the salmon was cooked properly but the side that came with the salmon was a bit luke warm as well. Food is suppose to be hot and the kitchen needs to work on the temperatures. However Nice ambience, great staff and drinks a strong worth your bucks, food needs a lot of improvements.
Loved the whole brunch experience !!!!
Valerie was actually a last minute reservation for our party, but despite our lack of research into their menu, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The ambience, food, and drinks were very wonderful for the price range, and I would definitely recommend this place.
This was a great find. I was with a group of seven people in need of a post Broadway matinee dinner and this place was perfect. Beautiful bar area, interesting cocktails, and a quiet table upstairs to enjoy an early dinner. Attentive service and pretty decent food.
Very loud atmosphere, service was slow and food was just okay.
Great space; good food.
Valerie is a nice looking restaurant in the theater district.
The food was very good for the area and they were very busy.
The food was mediocre at best. Lovely space, great service; no one having lunch there for a reason! Food is just not that good. Time to upgrade the menu and the chef.
The roasted cauliflower, which can be a great dish, was soggy and way too salty. The burger was beyond over-cooked. A very ho-hum lunch menu.
This has officially become my go-to spot! Amazing, amazing, amazing service and food/drinks are fantabulous!!
