Fantastic meal at Vaasu, booked fairly last minute and we had an early bird dinner with complimentary drinks. The food was delicious with a very interesting, superb Indian touch, staff were helpful. Highly recommended
Fantastic food and great service. Made our anniversary very special.
Absolutely delicious food. Loved by our party of 5. Staff were very attentive and helpful with one of our group who is lactose intolerant. We all felt very safe in these horrible Covid times. Can’t wait to go back!
Birthday meal with close friends. Fantastic food good and knowledgeable service. Lovely decor but was quite noisy just from the conversations around the room. Maybe a few more soft furnishings needed. Still a very good evening
Lovely welcoming service with delicious high quality food. The lunch menu is excellent value.
The food and service are first class. We were not the easiest of groups to manage but the waiters were very accommodating. The tasting and wine pairing menu was really well designed and the execution of the dishes was of the highest quality.
We had the most amazing meal for our anniversary. The food was outstanding and we can’t wait to go back!
Delicious food, fantastic service, and even met Atul himself who checked that we were having a good time.
We had the lunch menu which was excellent value.
Wonderful food and excellent service. Would highly recommend. We can’t wait to return.
Fantastic! Fantastic fantastic couldn't recommend them enough! Lunch time menu was amazing cant wait to go again. Lovely cocktails and the chicken tandoori main was the best ive had. (ps. i am an Indian)
Great customer service and perfect ambience. Everything was just perfect as expected in a restaurant owned by a Michelin star chef
Liked the little extras in between courses. Staff were friendly and helpful. Menu was limited but with enough choice for me. Starters and desserts really good. Main courses - we had the lamb and the muntjac - were tasty but 9if this can be a negative) too much meat for us - would have preferred less meat, more side.
Food is excellent but menu could be more extensive with a few more maistream Indian favourites. Service was good but a bit intrusive
If you are eating out in Marlow Vaasu would not be on my top 5 list of place to go. Positively the quality of the food is high and the ambiance of the restaurant is enjoyable with decent table service. I enjoyed eating at Vaasu and eating something different to what I would normally choose and I would go back again - simply though there are other restaurants I would go back to several times before choosing Vaasu. The food feels over priced for what it is and the flavours are not as exciting as similarly priced options in Marlow.
First time myself and my husband had visited Vaasu as we not from Marlow. The menu on the window inticed us to make a booking. We were not disappointed. The food was truly amazing, as was the service. My only complaint was that it was a little dark in the restaurant. However this could be Vaasu’s wish to increase the feeling intimacy. Overall a memorable experience
This was a meal for my husband’s birthday. I knew it would be a little pricey but I hoped it would be worth it and it was. We were greeted by friendly service and seated at our table. Atul was in the restaurant so that was a treat! My only criticism was that we were given a menu that didn’t have many vegetarian options, I had looked on the website so I knew there were other menus and had to ask for it. I wonder how many other had to go with one option as didn’t realise there was more choice?
Little touches like extra dishes made this a wonderful eve and I would recommend.
All staff were very attentive, wonderful atmosphere and the fact that the man himself cooked all the outstanding dishes was the perfect cherry on the top.
Absolutely superb food. I had the muntjac, which was a first for me, and thought it to be quite heavenly. Beautifully cooked to exactly the right level and the flavours were perfect for that sort of meat. Mango cheesecake to finish the meal was delicate and tasty.
Only problem, - we had chosen to go to Vaasu on the night of England's semi-final game with Denmark, which was the cause of us sitting totally alone in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and competent so the lack of other patrons was no big deal.
Lovely meal, wonderful food. Really different and so many flavours. The service was attentive and helpful. It was a quiet night as England were playing in the Euros.
The food was extremely expensive, portions too small and food lacking in quality. The service was not at the standard you expect when you're paying prices like this. Decor was totally shabby and dated.
Enjoyed the eclectic fusion created from the best of British and North Indian culinary delights. Service and presentation were both fantastic. Celebration cake was a surprise at the end of our evening.
Served well by a charming chap! Food was on point and as expected of AK!
Great food and service. Accommodating staff. Would recommend.
Outstanding all round
Great service and delicious food!
Great food, excellent service…"…………………………………………………..
From start to finish it was a first class dining experience . The service was impeccable . The food sublime . Definitely coming back
Typical excellent throughout even though it was an afternoon lunch set menu.
Food was excellent and service very good. Nice place to go for a special treat. We booked the table for 18.00 on the Sunday which in hindsight was too early as we were the only diners until near the end so there was no atmosphere. Also the menu was a bit similar to Sindhus where we have dined a number of times and thought the menu at Vaasus was going to be more from Northern India. All things being equal we will recommend the restaurant.
We have been to Sindu by Atul Kocher on a number of occasions and it was always a five star experience.
Sadly Vaasu did not meet our expectations.
We went for lunch but were not given the lunch menu, after asking the tasting menu was pointed out, after a second request it was reluctantly given to us, it was a very embarrassing moment.
Our waiter couldn’t explain the dishes - not his fault but a lack of training. The menus were given out randomly, despite the fact that three of our party are vegetarian, then we spent 15 minutes trying to choose as we weren’t sure which options were vegetarian.
When the food was brought out, two dishes came first and then went cold while waiting for the remainder, even later came the accompanying dishes. By the time the final items were presented the first dishes were cold.
Such a disappointment!
Lovely restaurant and food. Attentive service. Ideal for a special occasion.
As a regular ( pre Covid-19) customer at Atul Kochhar Sindhu restaurant in Marlow we were delighted to finally eat at his new restaurant, literally at the other end of the main high street. It was brilliant. Food was amazing as you would expect, staff could not do enough for us and the place just feels lovely.
Cannot wait to go back.
Tried to book Sindhu but found this restaurant. It’s a beautifully presented small restaurant near the centre of Marlow.
We were made very welcome by the solicitous and thoughtful staff.
The non alcoholic cocktails were very refreshing.
We were given a tasty amuse bouche and poppadons with mango jam which had a pleasant kick.
We shared a starter of scallops which skewer beautifully cooked with a lovely sauce.
For the main I had a chicken makhani with a liver sauce. Chicken was moist, sauce was lovely, not sure I liked the chicken liver.
My partner ordered cod with squid which she really enjoyed. We shared a saag with corn which was delightful and roti and rice which were perfectly cooked.
For dessert I had a pannacotta and my partner a cheesecake flavoured with chai and spice.
A very enjoyable meal with attentive staff and beautifully cooked food in pleasant surroundings.
I would however like to see more choices which were not red meat orientated.
We want as a family of 4 for our daughters 14 th birthday. Lovely meal. The food is outstanding and the staff very attentive. Very few people in the restaurant as we booked for 17.30.
The staff were all very welcoming and professional. The gave my daughter a lovely dish at for desert with a chocolate brownie and happy birthday on the plate.
The meal came to £250 + which I would consider expensive.
One of the leading front of house staff wore a face mask that didn’t cover fos nose or mouth. I do consider this unprofessional given current COVID rules.
Overal a lovely experience and we would come back..
This was our first visit to Vaasu and it was a very enjoyable experience. The food and service were impeccable. It was really good of the Vaasu team to acknowledge a special birthday.
We wholeheartedly enjoyed Father's Day lunch here as a surprise for my husband. We were very impressed - from the moment we arrived, the staff were friendly and attentive yet unobtrusive and the atmosphere was delightful. The food was exceptional and very good value for money. Would highly recommend and visit again.
Food excellent, expensive though, service fussy & pushy. We ordered 3 rounds of drinks & each time there was something incorrect. When food was placed in front of us, waiter came over to check before anyone had tasted the food. A glass of wine was ordered & waiter suggested trying a different wine in a large measure, 250ml as opposed to 175ml requested. Would consider a take out from Vaasu in the future but unlikely to visit for a meal.
The food and service was amazing! Cannot wait to go back!
Tasting menu with paired wines - simply outstanding.
Our first visit so we had the tasting menu which was a great way to discover what the menu had to offer and good value. It was a Wednesday evening so pretty quiet which was ok, just lacking a bit of atmosphere. Extensive wine menu and nice cocktail menu. Would certainly go again and just pick a couple of dishes. Well worth a visit.
