Vaasu By Atul Kochhar
COMPLIMENTARY VAASU MARTINI
Multiple dates availableDine with us between 5pm-6pm on a Friday and Saturday to get the weekend started with a delicious Vaasu Martini Cocktail with our compliments !
Not going to forget how good the berry mousse was anytime soon.
The fusion cooking was excellent, everything was packed with wonderful flavours. The service was also fantastic and it was great that Atul had several of the team from his other restaurants.
Not a great experience...made to feel like the "voucher lepers"
A great dinner with lovely staff and service. The flavours were fantastic and we went home fit to burst!
Had lunchtime menu, this limited our choice but was just what we needed at lunchtime. Excellent VFM considering the quality of the meal. Can’t wait to go back & feast from the Al A Carte menu eat first opportunity we get.
One of the best restaurants we have been to. The food was just amazing. We will surely be a regular soon.
Great meal and great evening at Vaasu!
Not the first time we have visited this restaurant and certainly not the last - can't wait to go back!
Great see and amazing food
As non meat eaters it’s really very rare to find a restaurant that offers you something you can call a fine dining experience .
On hearing from a friend we decided to book a table to celebrate our anniversary at a The Wassu Restaurant .
A restaurant that offers an interesting looking tasting menu, with a very varied choice of suitable dishes catering for every dietary preference seemed worth checking out
Front of house and service were excellent . We did choose the vegetarian and the pescatarian tasting menu ....and what a treat it was. Superbly presented Indian food combined with an amazing flavour/ spice combination ..it’s been the best food we have eaten in ages ...it’s just a shame we are moving away from the area now..
Everything about the experience in this restaurant is absolutely outstanding. The food, the services, the flavours, the taste. We absolutely loved it. I will be back
Visited Saturday and had very high hopes with it being an Atul kochhar restaurant. We went for the tasting menu and we were so disappointed! Portion sizes were tiny which we wouldn’t have minded if the food was amazing but it really wasn’t. Just average food you could have had anywhere.
The venues nice but nothing special and no atmosphere. Service wasn’t amazing either and abit awkward.
The restaurant is very over priced for what you get and think it’s all down to Atul putting his name to it!
Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t visit again and if this is the standard of Atuls restaurants I wouldn’t visit any other.
Service was absolutely brilliant. We knew it would be an expensive evening but we have just got married so it was a honeymoon treat. We only managed to get an earlier slot at 6pm and we got a free cocktail which was absolutely lovely. When we arrived there were only two other couples, no background music so was very quiet! We had the taster menu with paired wine too. All the food was lovely. After an hour a group of approx 20 people came in which included 8 kids. Unfortunately the parents weren’t great at keeping them very quiet and this ruined the night a bit. We moved tables and so did another couple which was much better but not ideal. Not really anyone’s fault but considering the bill was £300 the last thing you want to hear are kids being pretty noisy and in such a nice restaurant I think it’s quite rude as they took over the place. (I have kids) Service was great and it was an experience! Think we were there until 10 in the end and we had a great night overall.
I have spent the last 50 years living a lie. This is the best Indian food I have ever eaten.
If you go though the menu expect to pay £100 ph - inc drinks and service, Not cheap but great VFM - expect large portions too
Delicious meal. The staff were friendly and the food was divine. Would definitely return
Had the tasting menu. Beautifully presented and really tasty. Scallop was lovely, dahl with the main was delicious. Attentive but not intrusive service.
Exceptional food in a great atmosphere. We were particularly impressed by the vegetarian dishes. Often in Indian restaurants, vegetarian dishes are an after thought and lack the care afforded to meat dishes. The poppadums were served with a lovely mango and berry chutney which was delicious. The Dahi Puri was lovely and the aubergine steak with peanut Korma was really tasty. The lamb shank was very nice and served with a really tasty dhal. The service was attentive but not over bearing and the staff were really friendly. We will definitely return.
Outstanding food and excellent service. Very convenient as there is a public parkpark directly opposite.
They served the local Rebelion Beer and very good carafes of house wine.
We will certainly go back again and again.
All four of us chose the taster menu- disappointingly, the large prawn course - prawn was dry/overcooked and the lamb of our main course was very fatty- so much so my friend had to have it changed for the fish main course which was lovely.
As a taster menu we were hoping that the restaurant would be showcasing its best dishes. 😔
The food was beautifully presented however, and the staff were very lovely.
We had the tasting menu which was delicious apart from my lamb Chuck which had not been cooked long enough to melt the connective tissue and was inedible. No one else had the same issue. The problem was handled well. Service was attentive and friendly. Our foursome initially sat in the middle of the restaurant which was very noisy. We asked if we could move and were given the table at the front which worked well for us. The move was carried out with the minimum of fuss and dealt with very well. Thank you. I don’t think the other guests were especially noisy just that the ceilings are low and the floor hard. Overall food excellent and service superb. I will definitely return but would ask for a table away from the middle of the room.
First class as usual. ……..
Great food and service made for a great night out.
Our first visit at 6 pm on a Friday
Very quiet until c 7 pm but the service efficient and thoughtful
The food is of a high standard.
Truly delicious food and wonderful service! We had the tasting menu which was a real treat!
Our table was at 7pm so quiet to start but that was our choice.
Definitely be back soon!
Beautiful food, welcoming and friendly staff. The restaurant was fully booked so the noise levels were high with everyone chatting at the same time. Difficult to hold a conversation during some parts of the evening
Overall a wonderful gastro experience though.
That applies to everything, the food, the staff, the restaurant itself!!
Fantastic meal and can’t wait to go back
Wow. What an experience. You feel comforted and welcomed from arrival. The ambience is wonderful and the food delicious. It was sadly quiet but the few tables there clearly enjoyed themselves.
High quality all around and a real treat thank you to the team for making our evening special.
Loved our evening at Vaasu. My lamb was gorgeous and my girlfriend's vegan courses were, well vegan. Enough said. One of the waiters was a little difficult to understand.
Amazing lunchtime meal, great atmosphere and superb food for great value. Would definitely recommend and will be returned
Fantastic restaurant, lovely staff, amazing food.
The only thing that stops me from giving 5* across the board was, it took a good 10/15 mins to actually get any service. Once the service started it was excellent.
Spectacular tasting menu. Thoroughly enjoyable evening. Highly recommend.
It’s lovely to see a restaurant full but the acoustics are terrible and so everyone shouts at everyone else. Very friendly waiting staff and the service was quick. The portions are huge so go hungry! We all have big appetites but couldn’t finish our main courses after the size of the starters... the meat was all well cooked but the sauces seemed confused. Eg one sauce I had on my starter reappeared in a slightly different variation on my husbands plate and vice versa. There were 3 of us eating and our main courses tasted pretty similar to the starters! The creamed spinach was more like a purée of butter and spinach with some sweetcorn kernels and everything was very rich with ghee. Perhaps we had an off day but it wasn’t the best experience for us sadly.
This was the best Indian food we have ever had and the service was second to none. We will definitely be back and we live 50 miles away!
Magnificent Indian food, taking into the gourmet arena.
Wednesday lunchtime was quite quiet with about 7 tables in use. Special lunch menu is great value with 3 courses for £18. Choice is obviously limited with four starters and mains and three sweets. Plaice goujons, Tandori chicken and chocolate mousse were all excellent, especially the mousse which was exceptional. Portion sizes were good (and I am a large eater), and very good value for money. This is not your usual curry establishment - it is good value fine dining. We will be back for many more lunches.
We had a lovely evening family meal at the restaurant celebrating a special birthday. We were not disappointed the staff at the restaurant were very friendly and the food delicious.
Perfect evening for a special occasion. We have been accommodated very last minute with the increased party of five for a friends 21st birthday. The team went beyond possible to make it happened! The table and service was spot on! Even the chef came out to sing with us.
Will be back very soon.
Wonderful service, tasty food as you would expect but a little pricey to be honest. Wine was pushing the very high side for what it was. Made us feel very welcome though.
Very attentive and helpful staff. Most enjoyable evening.
This is a very very good restaurant. This is NOT "going out for a curry", this is top end, fantastic ingredients, fantastically cooked food.
Excellent (and sensibly priced) wine list and great bar choices.
