It was absolutely wonderful! The food was exceptional, the setting is lovely and our waitress was perfect.
My sister was in town and I asked some friends to join us for dinner. Va Bene is always very accommodating about seating!
Great menu choices (my 2nd time to eat there that day :))
Everyone enjoyed their meal. We had properly attentive service!
Fabulous dining experience! Their take on Cacio e Pepe is out of this world!
Va Bene is a great restaurant in a perfect location. Food, service...we will be back.
This was not a great experience. We had a reservation at 4:00, so there were few people in the restaurant. The service was terrible, while many employees stood around having a meeting to the side of the restaurant. We had a hard time getting our drinks and our server's attention. Next up, I realized I was chewing on a 1 1/2 inch piece of plastic in my salad, for which no explanation or apology was ever given by the manager. The poor service continued. The pasta was fine but no one at our table of eight will be returning any time soon, except to have drinks at the bar which were good. This restaurant has some fine-tuning to do, most importantly not ignoring the guests.
Went there on a beautiful day but opted to dine inside due to wind. Waitress was excellent especially considering that we kept her waiting on the third person in our party. We had lunch sandwiches but plan to go back to try pizza or pasta. Everyone enjoyed their food and they even offered free dessert to our birthday girl.
We sat outside with our dog on the patio and we were very happy that there was some shade there. It was a post Covid reunion and our server was so patient with us because of course we want to visit more than we wanted to eat. But we ordered appetizers and drinks and main meal and so forth and him he was really very patient with us. We had the pizza as one of the items which I highly recommend — the breakfast pizza. The meatballs were awesome. My salad was the Va Bene salad and it was excellent. So all the way around I would return.
Everyone in our group of 4 was happy with their meals and drinks. I highly recommend the pappardelle with braised beef.
I was there for lunch the 1st time and the Med Salad was beautiful but dressing was blah!
The 2nd time for dinner. Appetizer was foccacia and the topping was tasteless. The eggplant Parm was unimaginative (a bit overfried) and the parm polenta was uninspiring. I asked for the rustic bread that was served the first time I was there but the waitress said they didn't serve it anymore, but I could have sworn the people at the next table had it on their table. The brocollini was undercooked and impossible to cut!!
I will not be returning because the food was very mediocre.
It was also extremely loud and room temp was too chilly. Sorry, but I can't say anything good about your restaurant.
The lobster bisque was very different and good - but needed to be thickened. The pear/-salad was mostly arugula and didn't finish. Coffee was very weak. That being said I will definitely try again.
Our first time here in person (we had gotten take out when they first opened) and love the changes they have made to the interior and exterior of the place. The space looks very welcoming and comfortable. Our server was great and the food was delicious. We ordered an appetizer of ravioli and it was such an ample portion, we could have had it as an entree. The entree portions were large and yummy. AND the dessert, the tiramisu, was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Probably the best I've ever had! Overall, great experience and we will definitely be back. Great addition to our neighborhood!
Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. Our meal was delicious! Will definitely be back for more!
Great place. We sat at the bar outside and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious.
Nice new entry in the Corinth Sq. area. Menu is traditional Italian with a few twists. Food is good and very reasonably priced while the wine is way overpriced. Lots of outdoor seating, weather permitting. Glad to have a new interesting place that is not a chain.
Love the new Va Bene!! Menu is really good, lots of variety and food is delicious- service terrific! The D cup stayed on the menu and is quite yummy. I’ve been there 3 times now and tried different things every time. All full of flavor and plenty to eat!
Fabulous server, great food, wonderful glass of Italian wine. Recommend. Many gf options which I’m told was great. Thanks
Anniversary. Lasagna wasn’t up to par, chef agreed, they comped it but then charged for my replacement meal that didn’t arrive until my family was done eating.
Our service was a bit rocky, our salads came out after our entrees and she wasn't super attentive. Everything else was fantastic. We will definitely be returning.
My wife and I really enjoyed our meal. The food was really good, as good as any Italian restaurant in the Kansas City area. The atmosphere is casual and fun. It's a small space with a high ceiling, so it might be a little louder than some may like, but we like the buzzy atmosphere and had a great time. Our waitress was great and made an excellent recommendation. We will definitely return.
Great food and wonderful service. We made reservations a week in advance and were sat immediately but unfortunately our table was right by the swinging kitchen door which really took away from the ambiance and overall experience.
We were excited to try this new "authentic" Italian dinner for our 1st inside dining experience in months since Covid 19 restrictions. There were several reasons we were disappointed, especially in the food. The wine was very overpriced but we did order a bottle (which we did not finish so took with us when leaving). The Focaccia & Ricotta Starter was actually very good. The caesar salad was OK. However both pastas we ordered were not good, especially the Cacio E Pepe. We had seen it on their website and it was a key reason we decided to try Va Bene. A Cacio E Pepe pizza was on the menu, however the pasta dish we had seen was not on the dinner menu inside the restaurant. We asked the waiter if it was really available, and he said that it was, so we ordered it. Cacio E Pepe is literally translated as "cheese and pepper", a very simple traditional Italian dish. However, what was served was quite different. It was "soupy" with little to no cheese and pepper and included corn, garlic slivers or scallions and perhaps other ingredients (prosciutto or pancetta?), kale or parsley (big pieces of something green), etc. which are not typical for Cacio E Pepe. It seemed like a "pot luck" version which did not taste like any we had ever had in the past. My wife actually had to ask for pepper & salt. The Lasagne that I ordered was actually very "bland". There were mainly multiple layers of the pasta with little meat or cheese in between and the sauce had very little taste to it. The service was good and the waiter was friendly and helpful. However the food did not live up to all of the "hype" we had heard and read about. Decided to go to a differdent favorite Italian restaurant afterward to get our cannoli "fix"....
The food and wine menu was great, the meal was outstanding, but this was one of the noisiest restaurants I’ve ever been in. It’s a shame, but probably won’t be back.
Nice place, good service, food was good too. Margarita Pizza was yum! Nice wine selection.
Food was absolutely delicious! Took a bit for us to get silverware on the table, but the waitress noticed right away after setting our food down.
Was disappointed in the aperol spritz, as their was too much aperol bitters in the drink. The Bellini and Mimosa was also watered down which can happen during a busy Sunday brunch.
Because of location, amazing staff and chefs, food and atmosphere, will be coming back for sure
Certainly enjoyed our lunch. Only concern was the entry door seemed to have an issue. The cold weather and wind certainly added to the problem. The hostess and servers addressed the door problem but could not keep up with it. We recognize and appreciate their attention to the issue.
We'll be back!
Loved the lobster bisque!
Fantastic food, service and value.
Great spot for friends and family gatherings
Service was great! The food and drinks were incredible! The Old Fashioned was awesome, entrees were both delicious and fresh. To top it off the tiramusu was truly stellar.
Loved this place, the food and service were amazing! Kevin was excellent and treated us like family. We’ll be back for certain!
We tried the beet salad, the fig and prosciutto pizza and the four meat pizza. All were very good.
Our first time at Va Bene and was not impressed. Our server was really slow at first but got better. The food was not great for this type of restaurant. The eggplant parmesan would need some salt, if there was some at the table, I'd add it. The margherita pizza was underwhelming. I've had margherita pizzas at other places and they were good, so I thought it would be hard to mess this dish up, but I guess I was wrong. We decided to skip desserts because we thought we would not have liked it.
The food is phenomenal. We can't wait to go back and try more... we especially look forward to warmer weather, when the deck opens, because the only negative is that its VERY loud, even at pandemic capacities.
Our food & service were both good. Food, menu, and atmosphere very similar to North in Leawood. We’ve been a total of three times now and have enjoyed it very much. The only dish I though was average was the ribeye. Italian pot roast, pastas, salads, pizzas, and apps were all very nice, especially for the price.
Food and service were outstanding.
The food, the service, and the entire experience were fantastic. We sat outside and when the outdoor heater ran out of propane, our server went to the store to buy more! That's how incredible everyone is at Va Bene. I'm so grateful they came to the neighborhood, and we will continue to come back.
Meal and wine were expensive for what they were. I was not impressed with the decor. It looks like it was not ready to open.
Dinner was ok, but nothing outstanding. Salmon was overcooked, service was adequate. I am glad to see a restaurant in the space and want to support local, so I will leave it "on the list".
Great food and service was wonderful! Was happy to see when we first got there that tables were socially distant, however, as our meal proceeded two large tables were sat next to us, and very close. That was the only downside. But food was great!
We were there for lunch...salads were wonderful! Service was excellent!
Staff was wonderful, food was great.
