Absolutely amazing meal - fantastic server... the chicken.. the pasta.. the wine...
The service is just as good as ever, same with the food. We were perfectly comfortable outside at night with temps in the low 50's - they've got a covered parklet with heaters. They went above and beyond to get us in and out in time for our Nutcracker showing. I'm so glad this place has weathered COVID! We'll be back!
Fresh ingredients prepped well. Good service despite short staffing. Good adherence to safety protocols.
My wife and I had an excellent meal before heading out on the town in SF...
We were a large group of fourteen and on a tight schedule because we had tickets to the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus concert. The entire experience was exceptional from the service to the food and wine. Well done, thanks for a great evening. And we made it to the concert with plenty of time to spare.
Great dinner as always.
Excellent food and wine choices, professional service and great ambiance with older neighborhood and younger hip crowd. The interior is particularly nice with different seating areas and options.
The food here is so delicious. Fresh and fine ingredients with simple preparation to let them shine. We went early so it was very quiet, which we prefer. Service was lovely, friendly, just the right amount of attention.
Meat and cheese board was great. The rest of the food was not so great.
First night in San Francisco and we were looking for something close by and this place was a great find. Would go back. Everyone was great and the food perfect.
I love this place. Everyone I take here is always very happy. Amazing pizza, pasta, appetizers and entrees. Love the Italian wine and the 8 ounce glass. The crostini's and the kale salad are a must. The pomodoro sauce must have crack in it. The manager treats you like a new friend. Totally underrated. I've been going for years.
i chose the restaurant based on its menu and the assumption that since it is an "enoteca" it would have good wines. Food was very good for its kind but the wine by the glass list was very mediocre and disappointing. Nice spot for outdoor dining, however and up and coming area of Lower Haight.
Loved the formaggi and salumi! Our waiter was also very nice
Had the restaurant week menu. The Margherita pizza was amazing and the desserts were delightful
This is the first restaurant I’ve got back to since COVID started that I thought, “Wow, they’ve gone downhill.” Seated next to dish room when restaurant was largely empty, served moldy bread, and team was understaffed, slow, and seemed confused.
Down home simple, pure Italian with a great vibe.
It was good!
Tasted bread accompanying burrata peach salad was burnt- pasta with broccoli and cream was fine, but nothing special. Meatballs were…dense.
Pizza was soggy.
Always excellent food! Friendly service & great wine list as well.
Ate outside, very comfortable space. Characters on street made some things memorable…. On the whole it was a great experience. Our waiter was busy but kept up with everyone! I’d go again!
Emilio is great--friendly, efficient, professional, knows his food and wine and how to run Uva like a well-oiled machine. The chopped salad is amazingly delicious--so well done, perfectly prepared, clean and lightly dressed, and (you'd be surprised) delicious-- yes, a salad. We ordered pasta (orecchiette, boar lasagne, and the rigatoni pomodoro) were hearty and pretty much divine--and a serving of meatballs (three) that everyone tasted and rated excellent.
Their prosecco has the most refreshing hint of green apple surrounded by lively, crisp bubbles--that makes a really nice complement to dinner, especially during the long days of summer's end and early fall.
LOVED dinner! Amazing as always. Food is amazing and team is incredibly hospitable.
Good service, excellent flavors and presentation, very nice wines.
The dishes ordeeed l
We ate outside and enjoyed it. Service was polite, prompt and not pushy. Meal was good, one had too much oil and fat, but overall we enjoyed it. Outdoor parklet is not plush, but it works
The person that curated the wine list helped us out with our wine decisions and steered us right. Food was amazing.
Food and service were both excellent. Limited table time due to restrictions was adequate, did not feel rushed to leave.
I have been here many times over the years and always returned for the wonderful cheese platters. In the past they had many cheeses (and meats) to choose from and you picked 3 or more, according to the size platter you ordered. The cheese/meat was served with nuts, honey, baguette and beautifully presented. This time there were no options, no nuts, and the presentation was lacking. What we received was one good soft cheese (didn’t catch the name), spreadable cheese in a bowl that was fine but reminiscent of grocery store cream cheese with herbs, and provolone. I’ve gotta say I’ve never seen provolone on a cheese platter. There was good baguette, honey in a small bowl, and unknown sweet jam (not fig). $22. We also ordered the beet starter, which was a bowl of pickled beets with some cheese sprinkled on top. My husband liked his sausage orecchiette. wine by the glass is a good value. I was sorry to see such disappointing change and don’t know if I’ll return. The waiter was curt. I hope it’s a post-pandemic temporary dip in quality.
One of my favorite go to neighborhood places.
I found this restaurant through the Internet having never been there before. When we pulled up outside it looked rather daunting but the food was very good. Little in the way of ambience and with a high noise level they somehow manage to create lovely Italian dishes
Shared a Margherita pizza and stuffed shells - both delicious. Nice outdoor booth setup with dividers between the booths. They turned on the heater close to our table as soon as we sat down, which was essential as it was a typical breezy late afternoon.
They had very night wait staff and delicious food!
I love Uva Enoteca!
We loved the heated parklet setup. The siding kept us out of the wind and the vents in the side ensured we received good air circulation w/o making it too cold. The heaters kept us warm. Food was wonderful and comforting. The neighborhood vibe was an added benefit we would have missed inside. The service was top shelf.
I was pleased to see one of my favorite restaurants have not only survived the pandemic so far, but the food is just as amazing as it ever was.
Always a lovely time at Uva. Best wine
I made a reservation for an outdoor table and requested a booth. Understandably, the host said booths were for parties larger than two. The booth was empty the entire time we were dining though, and as tables seemed to be reservation-only, I'm not sure why we weren't allowed there. Dining for two consists of tables on the sidewalk without ambiance or privacy. Service was great overall- waitstaff was attentive, but I miss pre-Covid when they would tell you about the wines and dishes. Also was told we had 1.5 hours total for our table, so we honored the time. While we were waiting for our credit cards after paying (and we waited 10-15 minutes), the host approached and briskly informed us we had to vacate the table, as if it were our fault that the other waiter hadn't brought us our final receipts and returned our cards. I won't be going back there again anytime soon. It was one of my favorite places before the pandemic - I have been dining there 10+ years. Hopefully, the experience will improve as people adjust to post-Covid interactions.
Had a great meet up with my girlfriends here. Very safe, nice cozy outdoor spaces.
It’s my birthday this week so we reserved a table at Uve and took the trip into San Francisco from Sonoma for dinner to celebrate. It was quite cold and windy but we had reserved a table outside as we’re not fully vaccinated yet. This restaurant had great reviews, and looked like it had a nice covered parklet. I just want to share with other diners that if there’s only two of you, you will not be seated inside the parklet, but at an uncovered table on the sidewalk. So if you have to be outside, you will want to make a reservation with two additional friends to access the premium spots, because sitting out in the cold on the sidewalk is no fun. To be fair, these are the accommodations that restaurants have to make during Covid, and not everybody has access to fabulous outdoor space. But it made for a mighty uncomfortable dinner, and we were disappointed that they didn’t allocate any spots inside the protected area for smaller parties. The vegetable appetizers we had were very good; the roasted cauliflower and the kale salad especially, but both yummy and excellent. The two pizzas we ordered (the mushroom and the burrata) were undercooked, soggy, and bland. The pasta Pomodoro on the other hand was absolutely delicious. We might try again when are able to safely dine indoors, and simply focus on vegetables and pasta. Service was indifferent at best, but these are difficult times for most restaurants and employees. So, a mixed bag.
