One of the best Mexican restaurant in town! loved the food and the service .
Really enjoyed the rockfish ceviche and the fajitas.. only onions served where many places serve peppers which is a bit of a negative and the amount of protein is on the small side but good quality meats and very flavorful. The staff were super attentive except we were left minus silverware and had to steal from another table. Drinks good but seemed light on the tequila. Overall a good night and we will most likely return.
Our first experience at Urbano was great! The tables were socially distanced for COVID-19, the menu (besides the small specials menu) was digital, and everyone who worked there were wearing masks. They brought out chips with two different types of salsa to start. We ordered the street corn and nachos (which they made vegetarian for us) as appetizers. For our entrees, we ordered the seafood burrito with black beans and the grilled shrimp entree. It was my mom’s birthday and they brought out churros for her. Will definitely go back!
The decor and mood in the restaurant is beautiful! I ordered the wings and shared a combo fajita order of steak and chorizo. I would say that the food isn't outstanding. All three proteins were bland and tough. However, the side dishes were decent.
I wouldn't recommend it just because there are better places in the area you could go.
Dinner was outstanding! My fiance and I were blown away by the amazing service, food and ambiance. It was an amazing valentine's day experience.
Food was pretty good - prices a bit high for the value
Great salsa. Great service. Love this spot!
We’ve been to the Urbano on old town Alexandria. First time at mosaic and we will be back again! Great food, service and atmosphere!
Bland taste and waited a long time for food. More of a drinks and appetizer place.
Food and service was excellent. The restaurant however was completely packed and operated at 100% capacity which is not good during the pandemic. The tables were somewhat spread out but not all tables.
Birthday. The service was good but the quality of the food was not impressive. I ordered the salmon and asked for it to specifically be well done. It was raw and very pink on the inside. The server was very nice about it and gave me a veggie taco on the house but I was a little disappointed by the chefs attention to a request. The margaritas were great.
Delicious, cooked to order food, good drinks, fun place
This was our second dining experience since they’ve opened. I always anticipate a learning curve and kitchen mishaps for new restaurants but the two times I have been here have been great. The food is great and the service is knowledgeable. Both times we got the fajitas and shrimp ceviche and this last time we tried the new grilled oyster appetizer which is so good! I love this place and will be back time and time again.
We reserved a table for 2 on a Saturday afternoon and tried a number of items to give this restaurant a real chance. The gratis chips and salsas were great. Gave us a lot of hope for the meal ahead.
MEZCAL RIBEYE. 1/5 - No smoky flavor, no char. Arrived at the table grey in color, cooked medium and served warm. The grilled cheese was room temp: not melty or gooey; again, no grill or char. More onions on the plate than steak. Could have used salt and a lot more of the cilantro chimichurri.
CRAB CAKE. 5/5 - This was the best thing that we tried. It was hot, full of flavor, big chunks of crab and delicious!
CRISPY GARLIC CHIPOTLE SHRIMP. 2/5 - Underwhelming. It was certainly crispy and covered in sauce but could have used a little something. A hit of salt, herbs, acid, a smokier chipotle or less mayo? Was hoping for something special and this was just "ok."
URBANO WINGS. 3/5 - Great smokiness and good size drumettes and flats.
CHEESE ENCHILDADA w BLACK BEANS. 3/5 - Well portioned, served hot, flavorful and they made their black beans well.
After a couple beers and spending over $100, we are unlikely to return to dine.
All good at Urbano's for lunch on Saturday. Covid policies in place, although as there were plenty of available tables, I don't understand why customers arriving after us were seated at a table directly adjacent to ours, barely making the '6 foot' guideline.
Pozole and tortilla soup were very good. The entrees were very good as well (typical selections of tacos, enchiladas).
Really good food and decent cocktails. Just wish they would keep serving alcohol past 9:30pm, or at least give a heads up that the bar is closing. A little bit loud.
First time there, probably won’t go back. Food was not great, fajita salad dressing options were so hot I had to down three glasses of water.
The waiting staff was unclear on the menu. They gave us substitution options for items not even available at the restaurant. They couldn't explain what certain dishes came with. The waitress also spilled a drink all over the table, then the entire table was sticky for the remainder of the evening. No manager came to apologize for anything.
Food, drinks and price were AMAZING!
The host is not friendly enough to change our table even though there were plenty available. They gave us a table that’s at the walking pathway where so many guests are passing by. It’s not safe to sit there during these times. I did not like the ambience of this place due to unfriendliness of the host.
Wonderful and flavorful food! The 2 salsas are awesome and have some kick!
Food was delicious!!! Had the seafood chimichanga, shrimp taco, and birria taco. Drinks great as well, not many places do michelada and it was soo yummy.
Great service too! Harvin was awesome! Will def be going back.
Great food!
The food was fantastic. Definitely try this place.
