Urbano Mexican Kitchen & Bar
Went for Taco Tuesday $2.00, best tacos ever, unique combinations and flavors. Nice ambiance, excellent quality, great price.
Urbano is consistent. Great fresh tasting food and excellent service! We love it here!
Service was horrible... waitress was ambivalent and didn’t give a crap. Had to get our own silverware and napkins after the appetizers were brought and she didn’t show up for awhile. Food was OK. Too many other places nearby that provide better service and quality.
The service was bad. It was the same bad waiter that we had in May. Also, the food used to be great but lately it has slipped.
Went on a Saturday evening and it was full but not packed. Server was inattentive and it took 45 minutes to get drinks and appetizers. One drink was forgotten. Zero prebussing happened, entrees arrived to plates stacked in front of all diners. We had to ask the food runner to take some plates so we could eat entrees. She gave us a funny look and asked what had to be cleared. I handed a stack of 3 plates to her and my wife handed an additional empty plate, with silverware crossed. We asked for the check with entree delivery it was so bad. Never checked back for 2nd round of drinks either. Food was pretty good but service was the worst we've had in 5 years of eating out.
Food was great, but it was so loud we had trouble having a conversation.
Fantastic dinner as usual! Great food and fantastic margaritas 😀
Inside is really noisy. Service was a little slow considering it wasn’t busy.
I had an anomalous experience dining at Urbano: the server was overly solicitous of my elderly and somewhat infirm dining companion, while I was treated as a virtual non-entity. I initially treated this as kindness towards my companion, but became increasingly uncomfortable when my order was neglected for 15 minutes (the server was AWOL although we were the only party in the restaurant at the time) and private conversations were repeatedly interrupted for the server to make small-talk with my companion. The server also bent down so close to the table, that it seemed as though my companion was going to be kissed on the mouth! It was WEIRD. I can only explain this by surmising that the server believed my companion was paying; this seemed to be somewhat confirmed when I payed the bill, since I was ignored and not thanked for my custom. Despite the freaky experience, I will continue to patronize and recommend Palomino-owned establishments, but perhaps will avoid Urbano for the foreseeable future, especially when dining with this elderly individual.
Awesome place; great server and management. Will definitely return again
We've come to Urbano several times and always enjoyed. Imagine our surprise when we attempted to order alcohol, only to find that every item, except the Merlot, was unavailable. There were other items unavailable, explanation being that there had been a fund raiser and they were short on items. State stores are open on Sundays. I'm still hard pressed to believe that all that alcohol disappeared at one event and that no one was able to replenish it. There were also a lot less people that usual; perhaps because of the present situation?
But for table umbrellas flying out of the tables due to the wind...one hitting me in the head...our lunch was quite good. Really nice waitress, great food and the service was good.
The hostess are not friendly. They are not welcoming. It’s not a great way to start your dining experience. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. As the hostess is your first touch point in a restaurant they should be welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious as always and our waitress was good.
The service was absolutely terrible, we ordered chips and guacamole and queso to start, our main meal game out before either appetizer. When I got my tacos they had sat for so long I picked it up and the tortilla just broke because it was a soggy mess. Used to love this place but terrible experience yet again.
The guacamole was good. That's about it. The server was new and quoted wrong prices on what was supposed to be a margarita. She talked to the manager and we were told, sorry I'm new. Tacos were mediocre at best and the steak and rice dish was inedible. No chance of going back.
Read the private note. Trust me you’ll want to.
Food was delicious, service was timely, parking was a challenge!! Drinks good, but a little on the light side, but tasty. Going again.
reasonable prices, awesome margaritas, friendly staff and menu was fabulous/creative/not just typical tacos. will def return and will recommend to others.
This was my third visit and was very unimpressed with the food again . I keep thinking it’s going to get better but it doesn’t. Overpriced for sure. Great service and atmosphere though.
Went for taco Tuesday and was not disappointed. All four diners found our choices delicious. Drinks were very good and the prices were excellent. Will definitely be back and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Best Carnitas Tacos I’ve ever had...well done.
Enjoyed everything, service and food!
I've had the Ahi Tuna tacos 5 or 6 times. This past time is the last time I will try them. The recipe has changed countless times over the past couple of years. Unfortunately, each change is for the worse...
Urbano is a very nice restaurant for Mexican food, but this time, we specifically asked the waitress to make sure our Guac did not have cilantro and knowing it was freshly made we did not think this was a problem. Well once she mixed it up it had cilantro in it. Also, it seemed that the platings were very underwhelming. Urbmno just wasn't s good as our last visit.
We absolutely loved Urbano! The streak rice bowl was amazing! We could not have been more pleased with our server! The only reason I am giving 4 stars was due to a disliked cocktail, it was just to strong. Perfect place for a date night! We will be back!
Love this place! Their mango margaritas are amazing & so is the shrimp guacamole. Also love their chicken bowls!
Go to Urbano a lot for taco Tuesday. Two weeks ago we had an extremely inattentive waitress who quite simply ruined our experience. We had to ask several different waiters/waitresses for simple requests that she should be completing such as getting another drink. Also when it was time to leave, we waited for around 40 minutes just for the check. This week, we had the same waitress and it was the same story. I might have to switch tables next time we are seated at one of her tables.
First time visit . My friend and I were disappointed with the portion of food for the money. We both ordered the chicken tacos. After we were finished eating it seemed like we had appetizers not a meal. We were surprised nothing else was offered with our meal, salsa and chips, or perhaps a side of rice. For our budget, everything was extra.
classic margaritas were too strong - too much salt on the rim
guac had too much lime
disappointed by pollo de limon salad - first bite of "chicken" required me to spit it out in a napkin, barely any meat in the salad, mostly scraps and cartilage, I pulled it all out to the side and only ate the lettuce for fear of making my husband more upset with our anniversary dinner
I really like it there but I do remember the Tuna Bowl having a lot more tuna in it. The waiter was very nice and all but I had to ask several times for more water.
We looked forward to this meal; we’d eaten at Tapas on Main previously and loved it. We anticipated the same experience here. Not so much. The entree the my husband ordered was not available, so he was disappointed. I didn’t care much for mine. The dessert that I wanted was also unavailable. However, our server was great and did her best under the circumstances. And the sangria was fantastic. Kudos to our server and the sangria maker! Oh- and it was LOUD in there. Maybe we’re just too old and grumpy. More sangria, please.
Food was very good and the drinks were awesome.
I got to Urbano all the time, multiple times a week. The food and service has gone down hill and last night was especially bad. I understand it was taco Tuesday and a bit hectic but I waited over an hour for my 4 tacos that were all over salted to an unbearable level. Not only that; but the size of the salsa is now three 1oz small containers when it used to be a bowl. It’s ridiculous to even have to pay for chips and salsa when I can go to Mesa and get them for free. I asked if we could have more since we were waiting so long and I was informed they no longer give free refills on the chips and salsa. I was also charged for sour cream that I never received. I couldn’t find the waiter to tell him to take it off. It was all around a terrible experience and I am extremely disappointed in the direction Urbano is going.
Great food and drinks. Fun location. You can't beat the combination of Taco Tuesday and Happy Hour. Will definitely be back again.
The waiter was extremely unprofessional. He was standing and speaking so relaxed like he was talking to his friends. When he took out order he was tried to memorize it instead of writing it out on a paper. Then he came back like 3 times asking what was the thing that we ordered. And he also did that with the table right next to us. Then the food was really bad. The rice was soggy and tasteless the same with the beens. I was expecting good quality food for the price. The waiter also asked if we wanted chips and salsa but never told us ahead we were gonna get charged for it. When we were done with our food and payed he never came back to pick up our plates. The manager had to do it for him and as we walked out, the waiter was at the door just chatting with the host.
Overall great experience. Food was fantastic. We were seated near a large group so the noise level was a bit high. Had two margaritas. The mango was decent. The original was better. Guacamole was amazing and the cod tacos were very good also. Ambience was very nice with the dim lighting. Will definitely return.
As usual a great night at Urbano! The food is always fresh and delicious - make sure to get the guacamole. Taco Tuesdays are the BEST!
Server was generally inattentive, maybe had too many tables to cover. Entree order took over 35 minutes to arrive, they apologized twice but of course I had to pay full price. Good guacamole, but I thought small amount for the price. My wife’s plate was served 7 mins prior to mine, a huge pet peeve of mine to not be both served at the same time. 1st visit here, won’t be back.
Great food, service and ambiance.
Not the first time there the tacos are great but this time we ordered 2 meals one came out on time the other meal came out AN 1/2HOUR LATER. with nn retribution. Very disappointed
