Amanda our servicer took excellent care of us. She made the restaurant experience awesome. For the piece of the food, it was way average and basic. Excellent idea of brunch charcuterie, I must say. First pitcher of mojito was okay. Second was simple syrup water. $200 meal n drinks for 3 should’ve been $100.
the service was great, drinks were bomb, and food was really good. I would highly recommend this place
We had so much fun at this brunch. The drinks were fabulous, the service was amazing, and the decor made us want to do photo shoots all day, lol.
Ate around a fire pit with no real place to put food or drinks. Chairs and tables were backed against a wall making it hard to sit down. Fire was strong so plates and cups were hot and gas smell strong. Food is too expensive for the portions. Food was good just not a lot for the price. Customer service was friendly when talking to you but not welcoming coming in or leaving.
Food was really good, but drinks took FOREVER to arrive. Also it took 30 mins to get my reserved table. The restaurant decor was beautiful
This place is super cute, and well decorated. When I made the reservation I could pick between outside and inside and picked outside with fire. Instead of being outside though we were placed inside in an “outdoor like” area with a small fire. The table was right next to the restroom and in a busy hallway the waiters frequent to bring food to and from the indoor dining area. Service was very slow. They were very kind but I think maybe there is less attention to this area. I would’ve liked the area to be advertised as indoor as it was, especially in a time where outdoor dining means so much more to some people. The food was delicious.
The ambiance is absolutely beautiful which is why I wanted to check this place out. I made our reservations online prior to so that worked out good. Got there, got seated and it took a minute for our server to come. Once she did, it was cool. We chatted for a minute then ordered drinks and a shared plate. Shared plate a.k.a appetizer...not so much before it took forever. The first drinks that came out were wrong (we wanted the shots with the fire B52 but got the Roast) but it was really good and our server replaced them because she rang in the incorrect shot. We ordered another round of drinks (a martini and an Old Fashioned). And of course the Old Fashioned DID NOT come out in the glass case at first. I had To ask him about it and he went back and got it...SMH
So after that we ordered food...lobster salad, chicken pesto empanada and buffalo chicken spread. After a very long wait and finding out the runner dropped our food on the way out and they were remaking it 🙄 we finally got it. The empanada was very good, the salad and spread were just okay.
Would I revisit, probably not but visit at your own risk. It may be better for you than it was for me but it was good to see what the hype from TikTok was all about.
The service was incredibly lacking from being greeted, to seated, to served. It was not busy from the looks so I can't blame that at 1:30p on a Friday afternoon. The decor, food, and cocktails were all great and made up for it but many other downtown options to consider next time. My friend was in from out of town and did not impress her due to service.
The best mac & cheese ive had at a restaurant! So good!
S’mores to die for
Food was okay; we ate outside so it was about as quiet as outdoor DC dining gets. (I did go inside to use the bathroom and it was SO loud inside.) Our waitress was nice and efficient, but the other staff was so disorganized; we had been once before in the evening on a weekday and it was the same. It’s just disorganized. All of our “plates” — aka weird small pizza trays — were cracked.
Took my friend out for a birthday brunch. We bother had a great time. Our server was amazing and the food and drinks were nice.
Great Easter Brunch- very accommodating to large party- great service!
It was a really nice place. Food was great too. My girls and I had a great time.
The reviews mentioned the service was poor, and I’d have to agree. We had a party of 7 with an advanced reservation. We were seated on time and the place is super cute. There are 3 different menus to choose off of, that was a little confusing. It would be helpful if that was revamped a little bit. We had to ask to place drink orders. It took 20 minutes to get our water/drinks. When it came to a refill, we were brought coffee in Moscow mule cups which burned the waitresses hand and fortunately we poured it into an existing cup to not burn us! The prices were slightly elevated for what you received. Our meat board was missing a few items, came with 4 breadsticks, nothing else to use with cheese and meat. The waffle was $9.50 for ONE waffle the size of a DVD. When all was said and done, we were charged a 20% service fee for what reason? I’m not sure. Our waitress was a little flighty, almost like it was her first day on the job. No one helped her, no one cleaned our dirty plates away, managers were walking around like they were Secret Service, no one helped her. Would I go back? No.
I had a birthday brunch here and the service was excellent!! Everybody was so welcoming and the food was amazing!
Brunch boards were delicious and so filling!!! Coffee drinks were amazing! The constant shuffling of tables and chairs by the staff really ruined the ambiance
food was served cold, waitress was very nice and helpful, seated outside and the fire tables had no protection from fire so the wind was blowing the fire very close to us being almost burned a couple times, the metal chairs had no cushion so our bums were freezing, tall outside heaters provided little heat, didn’t have any special birthday desert or song which was weird for such an expensive and “hip” restaurant.
Our overall experience at Urban Roast was good however they appeared to accept more reservations than they could handle, especially for the fire pit tables. They did try to accommodate people but it created a stressful environment overall.
Food was not very good
This place was very overrated! The service was TERRIBLE! We waited for 25 min before someone took a drink order after asking for someone several times. We continued to have bad service throughout, server seemed tired and was unable to give vegan and GF menu and drink options. No music playing and bad ambiance on patio. Overpriced food/drinks. Definitely disappointing!!
Breakfast charcuterie tray was very good and unique. Fresh fruit. The food was 5 star. At one point we lost our waitress??? Staff was friendly and professional.
Came for Sunday brunch! The red Sangria is a must have! Food is very good and reasonably priced. I had the short rib on a croissant, delish! The ambiance is pretty amazing here lots of great photo ops if you’re into that! Our server Amanda was very attentive to us and her other tables.
Amazing staff and chef
I saw Urban Roast on TikTok and felt inspired to go there lol. It was Amazingggg. The weather was pretty good so I wasn't worried about being too cold but they also had a fireplace in the center of the table for smores + a large Heat lamp so it was extra tasty. Upon arrival, we noticed their beautiful decor with all of the roses and cherry blossoms hanging from their ceilings. Definitely picture-worthy!
Their drink menu looked soo good but I decided to go for the "Bottomless mimosas". I also tried the Chicken Teryaki *Satay as an appetizer + Turkey Avacado Croissant. It was delicious and I was stuffed! Next time, I really want to try the lobster mac and cheese. For dessert, we had the Samoa Smores! Another Winner! I also want to mention that the food came out SUPER FAST which is not something you see these days! Everything was hot and fresh.
I don't really write reviews but this place was definitely worth it :-)
The overall vibes of the place were great! The food is definitely nothing to rave about in my honest opinion. My sister and I came here for the first time and were a little disappointed but overall cute place
Everything was great! Loved the Flaming B52’s🤤
This place is perfect for a date, whether it be for brunch or dinner! The food is amazing and the drinks are so tasty! 10/10 will be going back here soon!
Our server acted like she didn’t care about our table. Never gave us more water, basically didn’t want to interact with us much and she hardly had any tables. Kept forgetting to bring us the bar code to look up the full drink menu. The music was so loud I thought I was in a night club, which made it hard to talk over dinner. The food tasted like it was cooked in the microwave, not great. My fiance ordered a turkey bacon avocado sandwich but it came out without avocado. I ordered a burger and the patty was almost a gray color and was super tough. Even our starter Buffalo chicken dip was a let down. There was hardly any dip that was brought out which was disappointing. Would not recommend coming here for food. My stomach was very upset after that meal...It seems like their specialty is overpriced drinks and trying to make the place look cute.
Best meal and the server was amazing- he was so cute from England with curly hair. We sat outside with a fire pit and loved every minute!
Great place! I’ll definitely be back😋. The service, energy, and selection all grade A
I came here with my friends for my birthday and everything was great. Our waitress Emmy was great and she wasnt overwhelmed with us because me and my friends can be a little rowdy when we’re drinking but she got everything we asked for. The food and drinks were really good especially the brisket mac and i will definitely be visiting again.
Very cute. Went for brunch a got two of their brunch boards and the bottomless mimosa. Service was great. Noise level is a little loud, but otherwise, no complaints. Made a last minute reservation (in an hour) and got right in when I arrived.
It was amazing, great staff and food. The ambiance was amazing and definitely will come again.
It was very unique with the fire pits and the s’mores, but the mac n cheese was even better. I got a caramel macchiato after dinner and it was perfect. Definitely worth every penny and we will come again next time we are in town!
The ambiance was nice, customer service was great and drinks were delicious!
The food was good, however, I ordered the lobster/avocado salad and it honestly tasted like shredded imitation crab meat. I also, ordered the mac&cheese brisket, and it was like sliced ham pieces. I also ordered the mac&cheese brisket and I was thinking it would be shredded pieces of beef, but instead it was like sliced pieces of ham. That was a bummer!! However, the garlic butter short rib was tasty.
LOVED! Will be making this place a weekly or biweekly hang out place. Great for a drink and a good times. The host was very helpful when we missed our reservation and the waitresses were very attentive.
Good food, fun atmosphere, but we had a reservation and stood waiting for half an hour - this obviously happened to others as well since the entry way was crowded and people constantly asked for updates on their res. We had a birthday girl and a group of 6 so it was pretty frustrating.
Once seated, ambience and food was good. S'mores were very fun and the fire kept us plenty warm. Service was still super slow, and they asked us to leave after 90 minutes when we didn't get our drinks until 30 minutes in.
Overall, fun but be wary of the time commitment. Our 6:30 reservation kept us there until almost 10
Waited about 45 min after our reservation time. Sat outside with the bonfire and there was not enough table space for drinks and boards. Champagne got hot by the fire. Champagne was overpriced and gross.
Impeccable, friendly service. Our group of three dad dinner and drinks at one of the lovely outdoor fire pit tables. Drinks were high quality, with good ingredients. Food was decent but overpriced.
