Personally, the food wasn’t worth the hour+ wait after we ordered. Not sure if this is the norm for Urban Putt, but based on my experience I wouldn’t recommend it.
The restaurant upstairs was nice and quiet at the time we went, regular Thursday 7pm. Food was delicious, gnocchi and a salad. Desert was too sweet for my taste. Overall great restaurant. The mini golf downstairs is incredible. Never seen so many cool creative gadgets around the golf course. Highly recommend both the restaurant and the golf.
Fun Birthday celebration
This review is based on the food, drinks and friendly staff. We didn't play golf because the line was too long but overall we were happy because the food is so tasty. I love the bacon, apple, brussels sprouts.
Food much better than expected. Fair prices & good-sized portions. Veggie burger one of the best I’ve ever had!
Only big negative was service. Inconsistent & husband didn’t get beer until almost finished with dinner.
This place is a lot of fun. The food is really good. Would recommend going at a time that’s not super busy for the mini golfing, unless you don’t mind waiting a bit.
Went on Valentine’s Day. Food is great and we especially liked the pork belly tostadas. Played mini golf after dinner, which was understandably crowded so there was a bit of a wait to putt each hole. Drinks help the wait, but you’re only allowed drinks on the course at certain times I think. Definitely will come back sometime.
The restaurant has a fun vibe, but I was not impressed by the food. I would only recommend Urban Putt for the mini golf, but not to eat at the restaurant.
Food at the the restaurant is just average. The miniature golf course is very well designed and it was a lot of fun even though we had to wait in queue for 20 minutes.
I love going to urban putt! It was a great experience. The only feedback about this trip was that the cocktails served in the restaurant were watered down.
The mini golf is not enjoyable because you stand in a permanent line the entire time. If I was a child I might enjoy this but as an adult there is no need to go back more than once, ever.
A very fun evening with the crazy, creative, albeit crowded, putting course. Dinner was reserved as requested, courteous, responsive staff, good bar offerings, tasty, reasonably priced culinary offerings. A bit loud everywhere.
Awesome experience. Service was wonderful
Really fun experience. Restaurant is upstairs and downstairs there’s a mini golf course with really high production value
Had a great meal with nice cocktails then finished off with fun putt putt golf!
Great for big group with kids. Have high chairs. Have alcohol, have games. Great!
Pizza not good, rest was pretty good - Brussels sprouts, salads, etc.
Urban Putt is and has been for some time now my favorite place to take out of towners visiting, family visiting the bay area for the weekend and I always seem to impress my dates when I take them there:}
Hands down, a true gem!
Great place for a large group with kids. They were very accommodating and it allowed us to ease into things before sitting down
Fun birthday spot, good food and decent pricing for SF. Really cool indoor minigolf
Perfect with kids!
This place is amazing! Good food. Great variety of drinks and the indoor mingolf course is a real treat! We loved the entire experience and hope they open up one in Los Angeles
Mini golf was a fun experience and the food was quite tasty!
Amazing service. Great food up. Fantastic time golfing. A must visit for those who haven’t had the chance.
Great food and plenty of space for our group of 6. We had a delicious dinner and drinks then played a round of mini golf!
I was very happy to see they had the beyond burger !
I always recommend Urban Putt as an attraction to people new to the city or people visiting from out of town - this will no longer happen as I was so embarrassed and offended by our visit there on Monday. I brought friends who were visiting from Europe and we made reservations for 8:30pm. Mind you, when I made reservations I had no idea what time they closed, I just saw the availability and knew we could make it. When we get there it was like we arrived to a funeral. Staff was visibly upset over our arrival and man at host desk tells us that we would be the 3rd table all night and they were trying to wrap the night up. I responded with: "should we leave then?" and he said no it was fine. When we sat, waitress told us that kitchen would close in 15 minutes then continued to hound over us to take drink orders and food order while we were trying to translate menu items to our guests who do not know English or American cuisine well - she stopped by 3 times in a matter of 7-10 mins. You don't have to be a genius to understand that we were translating the menu to our guests so obviously we needed more time all three times. This made our guests extremely nervous and really weirded us all out. Food comes out and they didn't even bring us napkins or silverware. I had to ask for napkins then had to go and get silverware from another table. Again, this whole situation was very embarrassing for us as we decided to bring our guests there because we'd always had fun playing there and figured it'd be a great place for eating and entertaining.
It was not our fault it was a slow night, it was not our fault it was a Monday, it was not our fault management or whomever stayed open leaving us time to book a reservation. I've never have felt so unwelcome in my life. I am so sad our guests had to go through such an awkward experience and am beyond embarrassed for bringing them there, we had such limited time together and it was misspent being treated like trash.
Terrific food, very willing and attentive service. My only quibble would be that the noise level is almost overwhelming on the ground, golf, floor. I realize the music, bells and whistles are all part of the ambiance, and important ones at that. But we started at 5p.m. Saturday, and the sound becomes pretty muddy and indistinct quite quickly. I would think any level of sound-deadening insulation would be good for kids who can be really impacted by noise.
But overall, five stars, great staff, terrific Shirley Temples for the girls, excellent, creative food (best Jambalaya ever!)
My husband and I went for a much needed date night out. We had made reservations for 5:30, but ended up getting there right when they opened for dinner at 5. The hostess was very nice and accommodating, as we were the first ones there. We were seated immediately, and our waitress was prompt. We ordered appetizers, which came out before our meal, and everything was delicious! Once we were done, we went downstairs and played a round of mini golf. The course was super creative and we had a lot of fun! Would definitely recommend Urban Putt to our friends!
The special occasion was my daughter's 16th birthday. This is not a romantic venue.
It gets very crowded so if you have young ones come early to putt.
The food was really good. And the service was OK. However, our server made up for the mistake which helps keep the 4 star rating. Definitely recommend. Fun environment and good food.
Dinner was delicious, but we went on a Saturday and it was so busy we didn't even golf. It was a 45 minute wait just to tee it up...
What a fun family night. Highly suggest having dinner, putting then heading back upstairs for desert:)
We've golfed here before but decided to stay for dinner this time around. Great prices, no long waits and lots of fun, small plates to share. The chicken and waffle skewers, smashed potatoes and devils food bundt cake were all big hits with our group. Family or date-friendly. Would definitely go back!
Went with friends visiting from out-of-town. First we golfed and then we ate. We were there for a 5:30 reservation. There was already a table full of a 6 year-old birthday party and a couple other folks in the restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty and plentiful. We shared a bunch of little plates (starters and sides) and a salad and a bowl of Jambalaya. It was a nice way to sample a lot of the dishes. I'm not sure if the menu changes but this was the perfect time to be eating peaches and tomatoes! The chicken and waffles, which was not my choice, was better than I imagined it would be. The Jambalaya had just the right amount of kick.
Incredibly accommodating of food allergies. Great service! And they have skeeball. Need I say more?
Super fun for an evening with my daughter. Also good for small group of friends as a meal with casual fun activity. The mini putt course is REALLY well done.
We had my young son's birthday party was a blast for kids and adults alike. We played putt putt while the kitchen fired up the pizzas before our reservation. We had enough people that they seated us in the party area of the restaurant, which was fantastic. The kids could make noise without bothering other guests, munch on cheese pizza, drink lemonade, and entertain themselves at one long table while the adults sat at an adjacent table with drinks and adult pizzas and appetizers. It was truly fun for all. I can't tell you how many of them said fun it was. And the friendly server, the hostess, manager, and other staff really made everything run smoothly. Kudos to them.
Food and drinks were much better than I expected from the atmosphere of the restaurant. The wait for golf was only about 20 minutes on a Friday night at 8pm. Each of the holes had a stand for your drink and you finished in alittle over an hour, which is just the right amount of time for mini golf. Other customers were in a great mood and friendly, the holes were creatively themed and challenging but fun. You could take a kid here at 4pm, got with friends for dinner first at 6:30 like we did, or go late for some mini golf fun. This place is a service to the community, I'll be back.
My daughter and I took my wife there to celebrate her BDay. We started upstairs for dinner with cocktails (great drinks)! The food was fabulous, I had the chicken & waffles (YUMM) and my wife and daughter shared a deep dish pizza which they loved. A little hint, do not ask for "ranch dressing" ask for their homemade buttermilk dressing. Then we went downstairs to play miniature golf - what a kick! Visualize playing miniature golf on an assembly line. The SF theme was great. Go there with the expectation of great fun and sillyness...
Most items we got to eat were really delicious: scallops, ribs, biscuit, mac and cheese. Empanadas were blend. Service was very good and other customers were a little noisy, but that was ok with us. Our toddler roamed around and enjoyed himself saying hi to other tables.
While the indoor golf was amazing and brilliant, the food and restaurant upstairs were not something we'd repeat or recommend.
