This isn't your grandfather's minigolf. This is miniature golf reimagined: a cutting-edge jewel box of a course, located in the heart of San Francisco, which combines high artistry with motorized devices, mechanical gizmos, and the latest in high-tech to create an indoor, urban course that will consistently amaze and entertain.
With a Jules Verne meets Art Deco aesthetic (with a heaping helping of steampunk thrown in), we are creating a course full of interactive kinetic sculptures.

Urban Putt Ratings and Reviews
Service was good but the food is TERRIBLE. not oh “how bad could it be it’s Bar food”but actually terrible. Even my kid who eats everything asked if he could spit out some stuff. We ordered 6 things and the only thing anyone marginally liked was the burger.
So, we never got a chance to play golf because the line was super long and it would have taken forever to make it to the front.
We are at the restaurant but I must say I was not impressed. The food was mediocre and way overpriced. The service was slow and they seemed to be understaffed.
The atmosphere was fun, lovely but it wasn't really worth the price by any means.
I would recommend coming to play golf during the daytime, but you'd be happier getting food at your favorite local spot and perhaps grabbing a drink at he bar after golf.
The dining experience did not turn out the way I expected. It was supposed to be a date night for me, my hubby, and our son. The food was just average for the price. My cocktail drink tasted like flavored water. Like no alcohol in it for $12. I'm just really disappointed.
Thank God for the golf experience! It really made our night. My hubby and my son really had a great time. We should've just went there to play golf, instead of wasting $70 just for a simple dinner.
The decor of this place is amazing. Lots of time and attention went into it. Staff was great as well. Took care of you when need be and left you alone when the time was right. They also worked together as a team and communicated to one another really well. You could tell they enjoyed their guests and each other.
We had a family dinner for 6 upstairs at Urban Putt. Empanadas are very good - sauce quite spicy - and salads delicious. Both up and downstairs are SUPER noisy but OK for fun and festive atmosphere. Don't go there for a business chat or deep exchange of ideas. It was mostly populated by 20 somethings and the golf downstairs is a lot of fun - though probably more so if you go on a Monday when they allow cocktails on the golf course. The wait staff are fabulous and management were alert to our needs and responsive. Uber or Lyft to get there - parking is difficult.
It's a fun experience!
There are places attempting this hip-recreation with food and drinks. Most are complete duds (see: Spin in SoMa). Urban Putt absolutely nailed it. The activity in this case is a brilliantly constructed mini-golf course. Chef Dane Boryta's food is so far beyond what you would imagine for this milieu that you could argue that the mini-golf is second banana. The drinks are tasty and also highly creative. And the staff is a pleasure. Go now!
I am really glad we had a reservation through OpenTable. We were sat immediately. She let us pick our spot. The server took a couple minutes to greet us. Given water on the spot. Ordered a few Moscow mules. The dinner took a lot longer than inspected, but was delicious. Overall, would DEFINITELY suggest to go for a date night
Our server was great. Lowered the Stars due to the fact our host/stess was such a downer. Seem so not interested in helping. Practically tossed the wine at us. The pizza , empanadas were ok. I had much higher expectations. Especially for the price . NOW The chicken and waffles AMAZING.
We thought the food would be like bar food, but it was actually really good - I had the most delicious chick tortilla soup and a warm goat cheese salad that was so good! And my kids had the grilled cheese sand and mac and cheese that they loved! Then the mini golf afterward was fun for them - (they are 14.)
It's all about the miniature golf downstairs. The restaurant is just convenient. That's all. Some people like the pizzas. (I'm so-so on them) But, if you do order pizza know two things. First, they take forever. And, they are a load. You're probably not going to want to order anything else.
We had a fantastic experience at Urban Putt! The food was great, service was very friendly, and each of the 14 holes really spectacular! Great for kids (when you're there at the right time) and fun for adults at any time.
Truly a neighborhood gem. Luckily I live close enough to walk there, but it's worth driving over from out of town for the experience.
Food was essentially upscale bar food, somewhat overpriced for what it was. Portions were good. Service was a bit slow, especially for later on a Tuesday night. Also caught some sass from the hostess when she claimed I hadn't said I had an OpenTable reservation and had marked me down as a walk-in. I got a notification from OT that I had no-showed for my reservation and she was rude to me when I questioned her about it.
Urban Putt was AMAZING! By far a neighborhood gem, the food was super good (fired olives and chicken and waffles) best starters ever they could make that an entree and I would be all over it. Pizzas were delicious they serve Chicago deep dish style pizza put your order in first it takes time to cook the thicker pizzas but totally worth the wait. The service was above par, Pun intended! We had the pleasure of meeting Dan, I believe he was the manager of urban putt. He inquired to what brought us in we told them it was my bday and we were visiting some friend in the bay from SD, he was very welcome and hilarious and made the whole group feel very at home and like we had known him for years! So thanks Dan you made the night but if that wasn't enough the putting was awesome they holes are all custom made by artist which we also had the pleasure of meeting one of them. You can drink on the course after sundown I believe which was sweet. I highly recommend this place for a date or get together with friends makes you feel like a kid again!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in SF. Most people only know it for its Putt Putt but there is a restaurant upstairs and it is delicious pub/bar food. Fried olives, buttermilk biscuit with jalapeño butter and chicken and waffle skewers are three of the best!
What a great find! Was looking for something to do as a family for our 13-year-old's birthday. Always enjoyed mini-golf as a kid, but the courses I played on are gone or not well maintained. Searching online for birthday party ideas, I ran across a mention for Urban Putt. I made reservations for dinner with the plan to play afterwards--minors can't be on the course due to alcohol being allowed while you play (yes! but for another time...). Dinner was great--hangtown steak for dad and pizza and salad for mom and kid. Not the Round Table kind, but one appropriate for dinner out in SF. The restaurant was very enjoyable--not too crowded, and though a bar present not too obnoxious (for early dinner--probably gets rowdier as the night progresses). We played 14 holes afterwards and had a blast! My daughter loved it and I found the course very engaging (steam punk), well kept and FUN! The adults (which were the majority on a Friday night), were well-behaved and courteous which made the evening that much more enjoyable (space is a premium, so it can get close--but not too bad). Can't wait to bring my peeps (who can drink) out for dinner and a rousing round of golf!
We went to Urban Putt with a mixed group of adults and kids for my wife's 51st birthday. We had a ball! The golf was creative, fun and just the right length. The really pleasant surprise was how good the food was! The servers were engaging and good natured and the food eclectic and excellent.
Out on a date, arrived 20 minutes early, but it was no problem, we were seated right away. Long line for mini golf, but still tables open upstairs. Service was right there when we needed it, but low-key otherwise. Cocktails were well-balanced. Food was delicious. Had the chicken/waffle skewers, poutine and persimmon salad. Flavors and textures were great - but I always want more gravy :) There were other dates happening there, families with kids, friends with the munchies. Definitely recommend.
