Too little food! Miniature food.
Each course was absolutely delicious and extraordinary. The flavors and combinations of spices and ingredients came together to create unusual and delicious dishes. Our visitors from Seattle dined with us were blown away. Each mouthful was exquisite.
This is a lovely neighborhood restaurant, with eclectic, interesting and delicious food. The vibe is relaxed and amiable, and the atmosphere is quiet and intimate.
Exquisite food, very fresh ingredients perfect service romantic atmosphere
Lovely very itimate setting. Love and talent go into every dish.
Fit for foodies, excellent service. Very cute neighborhood restaurant.
Holy cow, it’s this was great! I had high expectations going into dinner based on the reviews, but our meals were truly exceptional. Kudos for I Erin and her staff. Very nicely done - great food - great service. My new favorite place!
I mean my brother fell in love and was kicking himself for not going sooner. Very good if you are a foodie but not snobby. Just a nice intimate place.
There is nothing special about this place. The food is okay, nothing to wow about. it is too expensive for what is it. The restaurant look like a hardware store front, you have to walk into the kitchen to get into the bathroom. The waiter was her first day so she was not able to answer questions. The restaurant gave us someone else bill. At the end, we paid $123 per person for 5 courses sampling menu, just simply too expensive. The portion is very small.
Our new favorite restaurant! Well thought out dishes, creative, perfectly cooked and presented. I'm a vegetarian, my husband a pescatarian, and there were multiple dinner options for both of us. We went with the 5 course tasting menu and it was a true display of fine cuisine. We made future reservations before we even left the restaurant!
Urban Hearth is a delicious experience. It is a small restaurant but the dining experience is big. It is a prix fix menu( 3 or 5 courses) and they let you pick your choices however you want. You can also get wine pairings. We did not do a wine pairing but we had a delicious bottle of wine that was unknown to us and different. The restaurant is cozy and the wait staff is terrific. We met the chef and she was outstanding. It’s definitely a gem worth checking out.
Wonderful small intimate open kitchen atmosphere. Delicious menu
Hands down one of the best restaurants in town
This is the best restaurant that I have been to in a long time. The menu is small but consists of too much deliciousness, I was really tempted to order one of everything and committing to a triple shift in the gym the next day. The wine pairing was also very good. #recommended
The concept is wonderful, the execution was disappointing. The food was over cooked and not too tasty.
It was amazing— from the food to the service. The vegetables were the best I have ever tasted. The way they were prepared was masterful. What a great place!
The relaxed slow-food atmosphere was very enjoyable and the food was delicious and interesting.
Great food and experience in a small and engaging restaurant. For foodies and the rest of us alike. Highly recommended.
Had brunch here with a friend last weekend and the food was so fresh and flavorful. We made a reservation but it surprisingly wasn't too crowded which made it feel like a hidden gem! I had the breakfast sandwich and my friend had the cured salmon plate. We both loved what we got!
Absolutely wonderful dining experience.
Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Dishes were beautifully prepared with creatively designed favor profiles.
The food is delicious and prepared with care and presented aesthetically. The room is very pleasant and attractively decorated, a cozy ambiance overall. The service is personal, attentive and not rushed.
Lovely and delish.
Exceptional food in a very relaxed atmosphere!
I went for brunch so can only speak to some of those dishes. The brunch selections are not ground breaking (which is perfectly fine by me) but extremely satisfying, tasty and well executed. It familiar, but delicious brunch food with local, high quality ingredients and presentation well prepared. I had the breakfast sandwich (on a delicious light as a feather biscuit) and others had the mushroom tartine (like mushroom toast) and the fritatta. We shared a pecan sticky bun. Everyone was very happy. The fritatta slice was huge. Very small and intimate and cozy. Lovely service. The very definition of a neighborhood gem- I wished I lived in the neighborhood. Long may Urban Hearth prosper. If the rent gets too high in Cambridge please come to Burlington!
Total disappointment. I think the usual chef was out the day we went. Burnt pancakes and everything else I just want to forget. I am stunned by the positive reviews.
Small personalized dining experience with attentive staff.
Wonderful, intimate restaurant. With only 26 seats, this is a special restaurant. Lived that we were served a complimentary drink when we arrived. We were seated at the bar until a table opened up. Our friends were from Chile and they loved it. We will return again soon!
The food was simply exquisite. Interesting and thoughtful and synergetic.
Exquisite is a term that should be reserved for the most incredible experiences and it is with honesty and gratitude that my party of 10! bestows this description to Urban Hearth! Their at-once-familiar welcome set the tone and their over-the-top brilliantly curated collection of dishes WOW-ed us all until the end! The chef’s specially created Black Forest birthday cake was more than we could hope for or deserve. Food is memories....and for all of us, the memory of Urban Hearth will ever remain exquisite.
We had the five course meal. We started with some local apple cider cocktails, and some delicious sweet potato and root starter, and then for our first chorus, we selected all four items on the menu, all excellent and made with fresh and local ingredients in creative and attractive presentations. The pork cheek and mushroom dish was sublime. My friend insisted she was going to marry it. The wine pairings were all appropriate and creative. Everything was fantastic. It’s a small place, so make sure you make a reservation. The five course meal is small portions so if you were moderately hungry you should be able to manage it. If there are two of you you should be able to manage to cover the entire menu, by getting two each of the first and second course menu. This will allow you to taste everything that they make. Highly recommended from a foodie.
We brought two certified foodies visiting from Portland, OR, and they left impressed and happy. The food—ingredients, combinations, preparation and presentation—was inventive for every dish, and the constant stream of amuse-bouches from the open kitchen was a delightful touch. This is a small space (be aware that there's no place to wait inside if you arrive early, but Pemberton Farms in the next block is a great place to check out during that period). Because it's so small, the prices are high compared to larger-volume restaurants. But the imaginative food and personal attention that's attentive but entirely unforced are the payoff. This is how you support a small and creative team pursuing a distinctive food vision, and while we can only afford to dine here occasionally, we will certainly return.
I really wanted to love Urban Hearth but I just couldn't do it. I was there on Friday night and the place was pretty empty. They staff were lovely and the welcome cocktail and between plate snacks were fun but the food was a bit meh. Definitely creative and different than your usual eats but just didn't have the great flavor I was expecting. The place is cute and the food wasn't bad, it just didn't wow me. We had a 3 course meal with wine pairing for 2 and the bill came to around $300. I'm fine paying that for a great meal but for what we got at Urban Hearth it just didn't feel like it justified the price.
As an aside, their breakfast/lunch service looks like its fantastic and maybe the place is just better suited for that type of fare.
We booked a table for Friday dinning. The restaurant was quite empty despite the high rating so I learned that why they provide 1000 points. We had three courses with wine pairing. While they offered one additional dish before the course and the other one between the courses, I felt that $70 for thee courses was overpriced. Wine pairing was not so successful either except for one pairing (yellowfin tuna and Gruner Veltliner). Overall, I did not feel the entire course is worth $300 (including tax and tip) for two people. The location and the setting are pretty similar to The Table at Season to Taste. If you like The Table at Season, you would like Urban Hearth too. We may come back a year later or so for checking their improvement.
This is a fabulous restaurant! Erin, the owner, and her staff are thoughtful and passionate about their craft. This restaurant deserves at least a one star from Michelin. The food was delicious and each dish had a distinct flavor that worked with the following plate. We did the wine pairings with our meal and were impressed by Erin’s knowledge and enthusiasm with each pouring.
Coming to Boston from New York for a mini-holiday, we sampled a few restaurants and were impressed with the overall quality of the food but Urban Hearth was special!: It would make any die-hard foodie from NY wish they could visit here once a month to be able to eat in this amazing restaurant.
Amazing creativity that will satisfy anyone and really please a foodie.
Outstanding, as always.
My daughter and I sat at the bar and watched our food being prepared. It was great fun to chat with the chef and the food was wonderful.
We were so pleased with the gloriously creative offerings. It was enjoyable to choose 3 or 5 options for our total meal. Everything was made to order with fresh ingredients. They started us with a complimentary cocktail for those of age, and provided treats on the house between our courses. Would highly recommend!
Our son was in town for a few days and we took him to Urban Hearth. A good time was had by all.
It was delicious! Such a great value for the quality of food!
