I was visiting my daughter at F.S.U. and wanted to try a new place. I read reviews and made a reservation at the Tallahassee location on Monroe street. I even received an email confirmation for that location however when we arrived, there was a notice it wouldn't be opened until March 2020! The majority of the restaurants were still under construction!
We love Urban Market but the whole complex is closed down for repairs. Drove all the way there just to find everything closed down. How can you confirm reservations to a place that’s not even open??
Tried to have a nice birthday dinner for my mom. Menu items unavailable, food cooked improperly, HORRIBLE service. Not sad to hear it’s closing down.
The appetizer was the only thing that I would say was particularly good. The mains lacked flavor. The service was abysmal. The drinks took forever to get to us. Not worth the $100 price tag at all.
Not too many Italian places in town. I got the seafood pasta and it was really good. They really are very generous with the portions. The scallops were huge! The Italian margaritas were to die for! Great spot for dinner and a movie!
Excellent experience! Our celebration place to go!
Second time here. Same dish. Veal Scallopini. Much better first time. This time it was swimming in sauce. Veal was good and veggies were good. Ravioli similar. Sauce overpowered the dish
Nice place. Too bad no one goes there.
Great restaurant! Food was superb! Loved the quiet atmosphere. Easy to have a conversation. Will be back!
We were excited to make a third or fourth visit to +39. Our dinner turned out to be a big disappointment. The server was pleasant, but we shouldn't have had to ask for a fourth roll for a table of four. The Caesar salad had so little dressing that it tasted like nothing more than a bowl of naked romaine lettuce. One member of our party ordered salmon, and it came overcooked and not prepared at all as the menu described it. We'd love to see +39 thrive, because we need that style of restaurant in our part of the city, but we're not sure we want to bother going back.
Watched a movie than walked over for dinner. A pleasant time for all.
What a pleasant surprise. Excellent food and even better service. We will return!
Delicious food choices! Upscale atmosphere but reasonably priced.
Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic!
+39 is our absolute favorite in Tallahassee! Every time we visit, we feel like we are back in Italy. The service is exceptional. The food is authentic and delicious. This isn’t spaghetti and manicotti. This is real Italian cuisine. The fried green olives are amazing. Desserts are always delicious. Favorites are the Capesante (diver scallops wrapped in angel hair pasta, then fried and topped with a lobster cream sauce) and Linguine Cartoccio (a mix of seafood, tomatoes, basil and garlic baked in parchment.) We recommend splitting an entree, as portions are large. This is a fine dining restaurant, so they will divide your entree into individual plates when sharing. This makes for a much nicer experience than slopping over a shared plate. Our favorite thing is to start out at the bar next door for happy hour. Stephanie is the resident barkeep, and an absolute gem of a person. We always save room for a dessert and un café doppio. For the amazing quality of the food and service, it is an incredible deal. This weekend, we had three appetizers, an entree (duck in a horseradish cream sauce,) dessert, and espresso, and our total was $88. We recommend +39 to everyone without hesitation.
I think it was an off night for them as they mentioned that one of the cooks walked out in the middle of the evening. Most of the food was good. We were celebrating my son’s graduation and had a bit of trouble getting the steak cooked to order. However, they did apologize profusely, took the steak off our check and gave us a free desert.
Reservations were easy, said immediately when we arrived. The ambiance was so cute, cozy and just nice. We sat in a beautiful cream color booth. The appetizers were delicious. They had a very nice wine list. My daughter and husband enjoyed the bottle they shared. We were celebrating her graduation and it was a perfect location for that. Service was very good. Food was delectable! I would highly recommend this location for fine dining. In the same location are some other restaurants that are more casual, so there are so many options for foodies.
Nice ambiance and the food was great!
This is the first time that I have gone to this restaurant. We went with a group for a birthday celebration, everyone raved about their food and the price was right in line. Very good choice - will be back.
Sever was attentive. Made a mistake on food and was quick to resolve and resolved well. Quality of food was great. Drinks were spot on.
Urban Market +39 is always good and worth the visit. Great fresh products prepared in interesting ways. Authentic Italian food.
We eat at this restaurant every time we are visiting our daughter at Florida State she loves it and our family loves it the food is excellent service is excellent I have no complaints...
My Red Snapper dinner was overcooked! The fish was dry without moisture.
Nevertheless the appetizer - eggplant as well as the dessert - gelato was outstanding!
Amazing Ambience. Amazing Service. Amazing Mater D'. Amazing Food. Liam is the Best⚡⚡⚡⚡
We went on Trip Advisor and wanted a really nice dinner. It was a bit of a drive since we were staying downtown but the food was fabulous and the service a very good. Would highly recommend!!
+39 has the potential to be a great unique restaurant in Tally. Service was slow and we often felt unattended to. We had to pile up our own dirty dishes and request our table to be cleared. The food was great and prepared well to order. Open Table asked if we were there for an occasion, which we put as birthday, no comment or recognition. Would try again and give chance, maybe just an off Saturday.
This has been our third visit over 3 years (we live out of time). every time we have dined the restaurant is packed. Highly recommend making reservations everything we have ordered has not disappointed. I had the parmesan pork chops on last visit, which were excellent
Doesn't get the traffic it deserves! Perhaps because of the location.
The best Italian in Tallahassee! It is a hidden gem!
Did not realize it was brunch but even as a brunch it was disappointing . 2 egg dishes and 2 pasta. The only chicken was spicy.. truly a disappointing meal.
Sunday brunch was phenomenial. We had struggled for a good place with a great atmosphere and availability during FSU Parent Weekend. This place was great! Food was delicious, atmosphere was trendy, and service was friendly and attentive. Had a great time with a large group and want to help spread the word about this great place.
Our server, Alexis was wonderful! Food was delicious and the private dining area was great!
Disappointed in this restaurant. We were the only people in the restaurant during the entire dinner. Drinks were so poor we sent the first round back. Second round was not much better. stick to beer and wine. While the waiter was nice, he was not knowledgeable of the wine list, and was hesitant on his knowledge of the menu items. Food was subpar to say the least. For the prices we paid for this meal we really expected a top tier dining experience. Thinking back, we should have realized something was amiss with no other customers in the restaurant. On the up side, the restaurant's ambiance is super, very well appointed. We won’t be back. One and done at those prices.
This place has a lot of potential but my steak was cooked very wrong twice — asked for rare and got burnt to a crisp one time and cold and raw the second. The appetizer salad was good as was my wife's pasta and shellfish dish. Little thing but the waitress also used a 1 to 1 mixture on the oil and venegar served with the bread. A bit tart for my taste. If they get their act together on staff training etc would be a lovely place.
Soooo disappointed. Came here for xmas eve 2 years ago and it was amazing ... this time, horrible. Mussels overcooked and ravioli was hard. Their homemade pasta didn't taste like it was made fresh (or in their kitchen at all). Calamari was fine but not very hot - which is weird bc it is fried and should be piping if it is made to order! Caesar was eh. Bread wasn't even very Italian (think dinner roll). Just very, very sad.
All three of us had excellent entrees - duck, salmon and veal. Did not like the Italian chardonnay - too sweet.
We were celebrating a graduation and birthday. We came in from out of town, and selected this restaurant based on the reviews. I really, really wanted to love this restaurant, but it did not live up to expectations. Perhaps it was an off day, with only 4 tables filled in the dining room. One of the menu items we wanted, eggplant parmigiana was not available.
Overall, everyone enjoyed the calamari and the scallop appetizers. The spinaci salad was great. For our meal, the ravioli was very good, as was the spaghettini pomodoro with grilled chicken. Three people in our party ordered the chicken piccata, which was unfortunate. The sauce was a very thick gravy, which was not the consistency or flavor we had hoped for. The potatoes and asparagus were very good. Desserts were great, but unfortunately our coffee never arrived.
Overall quality was good and the staff were nice.
We need fine dining restaurants here in Tallahassee!
Very hard to find, the signage in the pretty much abandoned mall was terrible. I was surprised that the server seemed very unknowledgeable about the beverages and the food. This has been mentioned in previous reviews and you would think that they would make sure that the servers are well educated as to the menu. The food was good, not great.
Main portions are large, adequate for two if preceded by a pasta starter, etc. Reasonable($15) corkage. We shared lobster ravioli as a starter. I had veal shank and my wife veal scallopini. We took home enough for dinner the following night! Perfect preps, excellent ingredients,
It is clear that the Chefs at this restaurant know exactly what they are doing. The tastes and variety and the overall presentation and temperature is fantastic. This restaurant is a gem for Tallahassee, more people need to try this establishment, it is far worth it. My wife found the wine selection as the best in town. Even though this restaurant is tucked into the former Tallahassee Mall, now called the Centre of Tallahassee, I recommend it highly.
