Had breakfast 2 times . Atmosphere was pleasant, background music a little loud, ( we were seated next to speaker). Food was very good, portions were good sized. Prices were not inexpensive but fair. Service was very good, attentive but not intrusive. Overall nice place to eat. They did a very good job in every aspect of dining.

All those beautiful plants you see in the photos of the dining room are plastic!!! Hostess never made eye contact. Staff seemed distracted and overworked. Food was ok but my filet was over cooked. Smashed potatoes were tasteless. Best thing we had was the asparagus. I don’t mind paying a lot for good food but this place is way overpriced. A huge disappointment.

As locals, we are always looking for places we can go to on a whim, that has amazing food, good service and where we don't have to wait. Are you laughing yet? Well... we lucked out as we wouldn't normally venture downtown these days early in the morning but we did, and were pleasantly surprised at our adventure! We were greeted enthusiastically at street level by concierge, and ushered up to the 8th floor where we ended up in the surreal atrium cut out in the middle of The Nines hotel. While it's definitely got some hotel vibes to the decor, and I wouldn't call it cozy... but it's funky enough that it doesn't feel too run of the mill. The hostess welcomed us, and the service was accommodating and professional and nice! And to top it all off, the clam chowder, Caesar salad, and Farmhouse breakfast (plus Mimosa) was delicious. They have an array of brunch and breakfast food on the menu and it's easy to build a meal which to me is ideal. We place a high value a good meal and excellent service, so as it wasn't inexpensive it was definitely worth every penny which has been harder to find as of late. We left full and happy (and slightly tipsy) and are excited to have this hidden gem on our go-to list.

Great service and a lot of food. The price is worth it but it’s definitely easy to get a big bill for two people. Drinks, wine and sides were all delicious. The steak sampler is great for two people.

Great service from Nick. Always enjoy getting seated in his section b/c I know service will be amazing. Started with a nice Cava and crab cakes which were both wonderful! Then moved onto a fantastic Bergstrom cumberland reserve paired with the steaks. Nice to be dining out for dinner.

It’s weird times, I get it. But, the food at Urban Farmer (a restaurant in the only 5 star hotel in Portland) has suffered. I don’t mind a simple menu but I do mind mediocre food and poor service.

This was my first time at Urban Farmer. I guess I was expecting something different for how expensive this restaurant is and it is nothing like Departure, I know they are not the same however I was expecting a nice restaurant. If feels a lot like you're on the inside of an embassy suites lobby. The brewed coffee was $4 and we didn't even get a refill, I mean come on coffee beans are not that expensive to a least give some refills especially when charging $4 a cup! Our food was good but little cold when they arrived to our table. Our meal was way overpriced...$18 for JUST an eggs benedict (no potatoes or some other side you typically get with brunch) I think because we didn't get a coffee refill and the entree was lacking for the price it felt like you are paying an overpriced stingy hotel restaurant meal... which I guess that's what it is. My mistake for sure for having too high of expectations. I wouldn't recommend this place over the many other amazing restaurants Portland has to offer. Our waitress was friendly.

My wife and I dined at Urban Farmer Portland for the first time, Saturday 19, 2021. We usually dine at local Bistros like Allora, Gallo Nero, Café Nell, DiCarli, Café Mingo, Nebbiolo, Jakes, and a few other favorites. All have excellent service, and exceptionally good food, wine and cocktails. Also, we have traveled extensively and enjoyed excellent dining experiences all over the world and here in the states. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about our Urban Farmer dining experience.

Simply put the service was pretentious, cocktails were overpriced and nothing special, my Cesar Salad was romaine lettuce with a few drops of bland Cesar Dressing, our 16oz Ribeye (we split it) was cooked to perfection but served medium warm and lacked the flavor of a grilled medium rare steak. Dessert was exceptionally good. Wine selection was a struggle because our waiter was pitching wines as opposed to letting us make a selection from a wine/cocktail menu (we know how to select and order wine). We ended up settling for an inferior Washington Red Blend.

When ordering appetizers and cocktails, we asked to delay our entrée order until after cocktails and appetizers because we preferred our entrées not be served while we are still enjoying conversation, cocktails and appetizers (not uncommon). Our waiter began lecturing us that delaying our order could delay our entrees by and hour or more (a lie), that Urban Farmer was a fine dining establishment, and he would never do that. This poor man actually lectured us like we had never been in a good restaurant!

I think the worst part about this disappointing experience was the $265 tab. Fortunately, were are of means and the tab was of no consequence other than a lesson learned.

Urban Farmer is pretentious, the food is nothing special, and it's over priced like so many tourist trap restaurants. I suggest you spend your dining dollars elsewhere. There are simply too many other great dining choices here in Portland.

Where to begin. We have been big fans of Urban Farmer in the past. It was one of our "go to" steak places in Portland. Unfortunately, I think that has come to an end.

The chopped salad, while good, looked like some poor tired vegetables were lightly steamed and put on a plate. The 14oz ribeye (Carman Ranch) was ok at best. Ordered medium rare, it came out gray. No pink or red to be found. Anywhere. Looked like maybe it had been in the freezer or dry age case since pre-pandemic. It luckily was semi-tender, but wow. More like a $8 steak than a $60 steak. And salty! Like someone just dumped the salt shaker on top of the steak.

The sides. Mac and Cheese were good, but for some reason topped with vinegary tomatoes or peppers (couldn't tell) that didn't match up at all. The potato tart, meh. They did a great job on french fries.

Dessert was fine. The pastry chef at least hits the mark.

Just glad we brought our own bottle of Napa Cab, because that was about the only thing that made the meal memorable.

Service was just OK. It was bizarre that the server seemed to be unaware of the steak selection. We had a 14 oz Ribeye and 8oz Tenderloin. There's only one variety of each on the menu, yet she asked and which one do you want? Uh, there's only one of each type.

The music was loud. And I don't mind louder music. It was hard to hear at our table with the Talking Heads at a high decibel. It's even worse given that at the Nines, the restaurant is located in an atrium, so a little sounds goes a long way.

We won't be back anytime soon. So disappointing from previous visits. Hopefully Sage Hospitality sends in the emergency team from Denver soon to see what the heck has happened here.

The experience was amazing! We had initially reserved for a party of 6 but the other member of our party had to fly out at 6am. They were very accommodating, we were seated in a really nice area it was was very roomy, we have a pretty big family, the waitress was very nice, she told us about the shrimp and grits which wasn’t on the list but worked out beautifully since that’s what the Birthday Girl wanted in the first place, the foos was amazing, I plan on coming back to try the Eggs Benedict but we tried almost everything else on the brunch menu, the restaurant is amazing, spacious and so open, such pretty colors and a lot of seating, overall experience was awesome! Thank you we plan on coming back

This place was my top brunch spot in downtown before COVID shutdowns. Since re-opening the menu is limited and far from where it was. I had the French toast which was three cake like pieces of bread dusted with powdered sugar and some cherry jam smeared on the plate. Very underwhelming and disappointing. I told the server about my disappointment and they didn't do anything about it or offer me anything else.

I went here for brunch on a Saturday, it's on the 8th floor of a hotel. The view going up is beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service was great as well. I have a lot of food modifications and they were happy to help. I got the farmers breakfast and somehow the kitchen messed up and gave me a lot of extra food, and they didn't charge me for it! Overall a great place!
