When I arrived the host told me there was no tables available. I advised I had a reservation and he said that doesn’t mean there any tables available. What is the point of making a reservation?
Great pizza and desserts - they had trivia start around 8 pm on Saturday so if you're not into that dont go on saturday night
Decent pizza, but nothing amazing. Nice little place, but could use some interesting twists on the food
Great drinks and pizza! We wanted a different table after we sat down and was
We went for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was great. We asked for a low table in the back and there were able to accommodate that request and we appreciated that!!
We went for an early dinner with our 2 year old. Food was plentiful for the price and pizza is tasty. Service was lackluster and slow. We had to ask server multiple times for things like water, silverware, etc.
Asked for white pizza with half garlic instead of all garlic and was told the pizza comes with garlic all over. I looked at young waitress to see if she was kidding me. Pizza is the one food you can have anyway you want. Don’t think I’ll make it there anytime soon.
Food was simply not good.
Urban coalhouse was unbelievable!!! Kaila, our server was great too! The food was delish!!! I would recommend the Urban egg sandwich, avocado toast, bfast pizza & ricotta pancakes for brunch!!! You also must try the coal fired pizza & penne bolognese for dinner along with a salad!!! Maybe some calamari & meatballs as a starter! Don't forget to have a lemon fizz or shandy to cleanse the pallet!!! Love the location, the ambiance and of course the food...xoxo
Had a group of 7 for a celebration dinner - they were nice enough to set up up outside. Awesome service and the food was great.
Awesome pizzas. Food was delicious. You definitely have to get their wings ! Value for food good but like any place, couple of glasses of wine up the bill.
The staff did an amazing job for my fiancé birthday. The food was amazing, the drinks were excellent, and the staff was friendly and seem to go the extra mile for us. The food was well priced for the amount you got and the quality.
New summer special pizza with prosciutto, goat cheese and peaches is tremendous!
Great pizza and pasta dishes. Big enough to seat groups, but cozy and comfortable.
Fun atmosphere, good food and good service... will go back for sure.
Made 8:30 reservations for 9 pm trivia with friends. We were sat at 9 after waiting because the manager said that open table "kept taking reservations" even after they were booked. Which is odd since I made a reservation more than a week prior, we had friends coming into town. He said the first round was on him, which was nice. We ordered everything as soon as we sat down because we were starving food came out at 9:50. Check came, first round was not taken off so we found him to take it off. The open table reservation email service emailed me that I missed my reservation so I said something to the hostess when the rush died down asking if she could check us in and she said yes, didn't ask for name and never checked us in.
Food was (almost) worth the wait. Everything we had was really good. Trivia was fun. Would come back for trivia maybe not using Open Table service
The pizza here is very good. We also ordered appetizers and really enjoyed them. The wings are very unique. They're cooked in the wood-fired oven with a side of onions. No Buffalo sauce, but nicely seasoned. It's really a good place for a pie.
The reserved table in the back was perfect for our group of friends, as it was quiet, but not too far away from the main part of the restaurant. Trivia was awesome! Thank you for a great time, Urban Coalhouse! :)
Food was below average
No HAM available to customize pizza
Not KID friendly menu or environment
Would NOT return or recommend
Overpriced for what it was
Great friendly service but very run of the mill food - nothing special.
What a great little neighborhood pizza place!! We really enjoyed the coffee too after dinner. We are from South Jersey and we wanted to eat before a Broadway show. We will come back when we go to NYC again!!
buffalo chicken pizza + arugula salad were my faves. definitely want to come back + try some other pizzas.
The salads were good and the service however the pizza was just okay.
Incredible pizza and drink specials
I was very skeptical but the overall experience was good. The cauliflower pizza, Brussels sprout pizza and Don Gregorio pizza was delicious. Our server was very nice and attentive.
Garlic bread (actually the size of a small pizza) was very cheesy and not much garlic.
Need a little more light in the restaurant other everything else was good Ty RB......
I didn't want to like this place because the whole "artisan pizza" thing is irritating to me, but it really is a great place. The food is really good and well-prepared, the staff has not ever messed up an order, they have a good beer selection and reasonable prices. They also have gluten free pizza that is actually not bad, if you're into that.
Another good pizza spot in Hoboken. The shared salads are big and fresh. The pepperoni pizzas use the small pepperoni that get crunchy with the pool of oil in them, yum. It's a bit cramped even for hoboken standards, where the high top tables are very close to each other and close to the bar, but I'd still return.
This was our first time at Urban Coal- the arugula salad and vodka pizza were really great.
The staff was great and very friendly.
Brussel sprouts were really really salty, ruined something that could have been somewhat healthy. Pizza was very hard from tip to crust and very little cheese or sauce. Went because of local flavor deal wouldn't spend full price here. Ambiance with open windows was nice though.
Amazing place and awesome food. The soup was delicious and we loved the pizza.
The waitress was very spacey... when we were waiting for our check, she was off to the side at an empty table with other employees and seemed to be getting her hair brushed by what looked like the manager (she was dressed differently than the rest of staff) and did not get up until our entire party was standing up literally waiting for her to turn around and get her attention. Food was pretty good but service definitely brought this place down. Also, the waitress gave us an empty box when we asked to have our leftovers wrapped up. In the box were not only the food we left over but the pizza scraps and crusts purposely left to the side.
The host altough was very nice when we initially entered
The service at Urban Coal House was great! Excellent sangria and pizza with a fun, casual scene. My new favorite spot in Hoboken!
Pizza was good, but noise level was really high and we were surrounded by bros peacocking to the hilt.
Tried this place after wanting to go for a while. I was unimpressed. There are definitely better places to get pizza in Hoboken. However, the drinks were good and the cocktails are $5 on Tuesdays and they were good.
