Very accessible--free parking on roof of wine store below, on ugly street but inside very cosy and pleasant and the wine pairings are good. Some of food is too spicy but most very good. A bit overpriced for location and atmosphere.
Excellent waiter and very good food and wine.
Very friendly attention and service, great food and very nice ambiance.
too noisy. billing is higher than quoted price for wine
Great and favorite place food was just a little off that night
The food, the drinks and of course the wine are all quite simply wonderful.
Marilyn your host and wine expert is warm and friendly.
Easy free parking
Great location
Special- only open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday
Great female chef.
Let’s start with the notable positives — a great wine list, very knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly staff will help you pick the perfect pour, and the food was very good. So you have to overlook the lack of atmosphere, and the absence of decor.
Meal and service were awesome. Have been many times before. Always good, often wonderful, but this was amazing!
Upstairs 2 is always a great experience. We’ve never been there when we did t have wonderful food, fantastic wines recommended by the awesome sommelier Marilyn, warm and careful service and a great value. For everyday or a special occasion, it’s our favorite go to restaurant.
Uncomfortable seating hard to find location without a descriptive parking place. If you enjoy tapas like plates great. A lot of mixture of very unusual food options cooked in unique recipes along with having to choose dinner selections from a very challenging menu. Hosting a lively bar crowd in the background along with tv and random falling barstools.
Meal good8/10. Dessert good 7/10. Scotch great 10/10. Parking easy. Table good service outstanding.
Perfect for a catch up with an old friend! Marilyn, as always, was a gem!
Always enjoyable. Four of us had great food. And great drinks.
Upstairs 2 is always reliable and fun. The food by Chef Maiki Li is amazing and always creative and seasonal. The drinks are great and the people are always fun. A good mix of newcomers and regulars at the bar for happy hour
Upstairs2 is a real neighborhood gem. We’ve been dining there for almost 10 years and love it. The food is consistently delicious, the service attentive and friendly, and the wine list is extensive. Highly recommended!
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening
Nice atmosphere, reasonably priced food. Lovely place.
Marilyn, hostess, was great . All in all a very pleasant experience with the food leading the way.
Food was great and the service even better.
The temperanillo was delicious. The squash salad was fantastic.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The gnocchi was absolutely fantastic and the sticky toffee dessert is to die for. Definitely recommend if looking for new place to try.
Amazing amazing amazing! Can’t say enough about this place! Marilyn, the sommelier, is incredibly knowledgeable. The food is delicious with perfect pairings for every course. Sean, our server, provided exceptional service! We will be back!!
Hostess was not very welcoming....server was fine.
Valentine’s day - food was amazing - service warm and they handled the holiday rush with grace. Wine pairing was spectacular.
Valentine’s Day. Cozy spot. Friendly and relaxing. Good parking. We had delicious food and nicely paired wine.
Delicious dinner as always, but it is a tight night and one feels that energy while dining.
Service, dining , wine pairing was superb
Went here for a friend's birthday. First off, the manager was amazing. Friendly, knowledgable. Our actual server? Not so much. This place is located above The Wine House and the restaurant is centered around wine. When we asked the server how different glasses of wine were, his answer was, "I think it's supposed to be good." When I asked what one of the meats under the charcuterie list was, his answer was, "Cured meat." Other than this, the food was solid, came out at a nice pace, and we enjoyed ourselves overall.
Wonderful dishes and excellent wine selection. Comfortable room for date night out before a show. The chef was most generous with her advice (and even a recipe) wow what a great place.
This is a really nice place and the prices are quite reasonable for what you get. The wine listing is outstanding. The food is good. It is overall a 4.5 by OpenTable standards but I cannot give it a rating of 4.5 in the OpenTable system.
My wife and I love this place. Great food reasonably priced. Excellent wine choices.
However, one thing we would like to recommend, is for them to replace their ugly carpet with
hardwood or tile floors. It would make a world of difference for the ambience.
Group of 4 to celebrate. Portions were very small, but not priced accordingly.
In a word, inconsistent. One of us had duck breast, dish was quite good and the accompaniments excellent. The other asked for medium rare salmon; it was delivered well-done and dry. After our complaint, the chef (apparently a humorist) delivered a piece of literally raw salmon. (It was warm, so at least it had not been delivered straight from the cooler.)
They attempted to charge us for the salmon; after an objection to the manager, it was removed from the bill without any apologies.
Between the difficulty of accessing the restaurant at dinner hour (it is next to an entrance to the 405 which backs up for blocks), the inconsistent food, and the management attitude, perhaps it would be best to find another venue. We certainly will.
Lovely food and warm atmosphere with interesting menu
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We were there for DineLA and the menu was excellent. Very good value.
The food was incredible
We did the dineLA. Totally worth it! We had the cauliflower soup, gnocchi appetizer and short ribs main course and Porkchop main course. Didn't care for the bread pudding but I'm not a bread pudding person. Great service.
good food, great wine pairings, good price...a great, relaxing place for husband/wife getaway from the stress of kids at home.
Great place if you love wine! I differently will come back and do the wine paring.
This restaurant is always great - so great that we brave the traffic jam that sometimes occurs due to location. There is ample parking once you get there and inside is serene (especially after the traffic). Recommend going early and allow a little extra travel time.
Upstairs2 never disappoints. The food was delicious, wine exceptional and the service spot on. Thanks for another wonderful evening !
