As you can see by other reviews, this truly is a neighborhood gem. It's located on top of the Wine House, so the wine list is superb. As you can see by the menu, they recommend foods and wines to go with them. You can drink by a small amount, a full glass or bottle. (I liked that I could try a number of dishes with different wines.) The food is outstanding - mostly small amounts that allow you to try a number of dishes. I had, for example, the Warren Pear & Butternut Squash Salad that I enjoyed with a delicious chardonnay. We also had the Fried Chicken Bao - spicy, but unbelievably good. The inside is quiet, small and lovely, so it's a great spot for a small gathering (i.e. two to four people). Highly recommended.

Salmon was delicious and so was the seasonal salad. Slipped in before a movie and had a very nice dinner. We will be back.

It’s Tucked away near the highway which set the bar low, but it WILDY exceeded expectations.

THe sommelier was from Boston and she helped us pick the perfect wine. Also, all of their foods come with a suggested wine pairing which is great.

Dine at Upstairs 2 for the wine and food pairings. The wine selections are fantastic. The food is creative and delicious. The restaurant was lively and our servers were attentive the whole evening. We went with friends who had never been to Upstairs 2 and everyone said they wanted to go back and dine at the restaurant again.

The best way you can describe the location is, " different" I like the place. ELK chop was great. Kale Salad better than I expected and flat bread better than a any other flatbread I have had so far.
Service was good. The host also chatted with me on the way out reminding me that we could park upstairs and the offer free valet. Overall I had a good night.

We chose this place because we were meeting old friends who are wine connoisseurs, yet I needed a full bar - this place not only seemed to have an extensive wine list (doesn't hurt that downstairs is a wine shop!), their cocktail menu seemed decent as well. Also, the menu is uniquely set up by wine pairing, so I thought my friends would like it, & the reviews indicated that the food was good. As other reviews warned, the location is odd & not very aesthetic - it's right next to the fwy onramp & there is not much around the industrial-looking block. But, I think this is adds to the "pleasantly surprised" factor. I apparently hit it out of the park picking this place - my friends (visiting from out of the country) loved it! Everything was great - the wines, the cocktails, & the food! & the staff was so wonderful - they even let us close down the place! Highly, highly recommend.

The elk chop was amazing. Great place for a Friday or Saturday night dinner last-minute reservation. Popular but rarely packed because it’s below the radar. Their duck with spaetzle is another favorite of ours.

All 4 of us really enjoyed our dinner. The food was delicious, and we loved that we could try out different wines, as they have 2.5 ounce tastings. We felt that some of the dishes were a bit pricey for what you got (e.g., the cheeses). The salmon and the mushroom pasta were great. The sticky toffee pudding, although a small portion, was delicious. It was a Friday evening - and surprisingly, there were not many people there (except at the bar) - so it was nice and quiet and great for conversation. The waiter and sommelier were attentive and very friendly. It was a great evening - we'll definitely go back again.

One of the few places on the west side of LA where you can hear yourself think and enjoy conversation with your tablemates. On top of this, the food is delicious, they make a very good martini, and it sits on top of the Wine House, so you can imagine the wines!

The sommelier and the servers are warm and friendly. It's a great place. We frequent frequently!! In fact, see ya tonight :-)

I've been wanting to go here for a long time and it was definitely worth the wait. The food was delicious with options for all types of diets. Shared plates made it easy to enjoy many different flavours. The wine by the glass and the regular wine list are well priced (for a restaurant) and extensive. So many choices!!!
Loved it. The only they need to improve is the decor. What's with all the curtains?

This restaurant is greater than the sum of its parts. Outstanding wines at great value, excellent but compact menu, reasonable prices, a stable waiting staff and a wonderful host make this an exceptional but understated restaurant. Add to that free dedicated parking and windows out onto the blue Southern California sky, and you get a winner. Even the patrons are agreeable!

Atmosphere, service and food are all wonderful. The atmosphere is warm, casual and elegant at the same time. The wait staff is always there when you need something - never there when you don't! Marilyn, the hostess, is a very friendly sommelier, very wiling to suggest wines that fits your food order. We stayed to chat after we had paid the check and never felt pressure to leave.
A very successful evening! Highly recommend..

They have gone from small plates to standard courses. We like the small plates approach better. The quality of the food is also somewhat lower than in the past. (My steak was tiny and overcooked.) This has long been one of our favorite places, so we hope they eventually get it right.

The food and wine pairings were spot on. But, what attracted us to the restaurant in the first place was the array of choices both for meat eaters and for vegetarians. This is a rare place that caters to both.
