Lovely place great food, comfortable and a place I would come back to all the time.
I enjoyed the entire evening from appetizer to dessert. The taste and textures were perfect. I’m fussy so this was a very good place and it was hard to choose from the menu because everything was interesting. Everyone at the table picked different items and each one was tasty.
The French fries the best anywhere.

We love upstairs 2 however were extremely disappointed with the dinner. The choices weren’t great, the food mediocre. The vegan option was plated terrible and tasteless. We usually don’t do dinela due to the mediocrity and this was no difference
Upstairs 2 is wonderful. We went for the dine L.A. event. The portions were plentiful. The price was reasonable. The food and service was great. Wine selection is great. I will look forward to future events.

Not much to tell - we arrived on time for our reservation, were seated right away, had a nice waiter, ordered, food came, and my wife was happier with her meal than was I. Surprisingly, there weren’t any really full bodied reds available on the evening’s wine list so we ordered the Napa cab which was adequate at best. All in all, we had a nice experience, and I was particularly fond of the room or should I say the lighting which was soft and forgiving of the cafeteria like furniture. I will probably give it another try and hope to have a more fulfilling experience.
I had heard this restaurant has gone downhill since the new chef? owner? but didn't want to believe it.
Unfortunately, it has. We had the Dine LA menu -beet and burrata said, filet of beef and pommel frites, pane cotta. Salad was overdressed with wilted greens. Beef was incredibly tough, fries underdone. The people next to us had the salmon which was a microscopic portion, looked very dry. Pane cotta OK. Presentation of all three dishes very amateur. I know that Dine LA menus often do not represent the best that a restaurant has to offer but there should be something about them that entice people to come back.
Apparently they are closing for 3 months for remodeling and expanding the bar. Unless there is a change in the kitchen I won't be back.
The salmon was very good. The lobster or squash soup was good but the lobster was puréed into it so that we’re not chunks of lobster in the soup.
An out of the way charmer. Large open room, but noise level is med to quiet. And lighting is dim, but not dark.
Food exceptional! Portions reasonable--actually just right!
We had dinner there during LA Food Week, thus ate from a pre-fixe menu. But it was absolutely delicious.
Plenty of parking...a real plus these days!

It had been awhile since dining here. Had drink at the bar and bartender was friendly and made a great martini. Dinner was equally good.

Other than the host being a dork, it was a beautiful experience the food was good and we were able to interface with the owners who are absolutely lovely people. Great wine values and terrific selection.
My friends and I went for DineLA. Upstairs2 had a wonderful menu. Our server was very attentive but knew when we needed space. We ordered a bottle of Cava for the table. When it was time to refill our glasses, there was only enough left for 3 of the 4 of us. He went to the bar and got more from a bottle there so that we all could have the second glass.
Upstairs2 is one of my favorite restaurants.
Love this place. Can’t wait for it to reopen on full schedule.
I always enjoy going to Upstairs Two. They did not disappoint. I’m just sorry to hear that the restaurant will be closing.
I've been a fan of Upstairs 2 for years. Dine LA was a terrific value. I had steak frites. Steak cooked perfectly rare & flavorful. Starter was the baby beet & burrata salad was delish as was the creme fraiche panna cotta. Wine was a Calif. Chardonnay which I really liked and I had a french red but don't remember the producer. Liked it a lot.
Limited menu do to future remodeling. 👀
Cocktails high priced
The food was very good, but for the first time we had very slow service. We have been there many times before and never had that problem. The server did apologize at the end.
Went for dineLA dinner and the food was outstanding. Would definitely go again with the regular menu.
Although there are carpeted floor, curtains, uphostered banquets and sound deadening ceiling tiles, when full the restaurant is very noisy. They were very busy and the service was a little distracted, although friendly and competant.
Excellent Dine LA Experience. We have been to U2 several times and have always had a superb dining experience. The Dine LA menu this time is great with many excellent choices. Service was first rate and the food divine. Diners are at fairly close quarters in the room.
Incredible food AND wine. Such a hidden gem. Located on the top floor of the Wine House. I’ve been coming here for the past few years and was sad to hear they were closing down. Surprise! They decided to have a DineLA pop up. I can’t wait to see the renovation and new concept. We enjoyed the ‘16 hermitage.

We had an enjoyable late dinner at Upstairs 2, where there is currently a pop-up restaurant for Dine LA helmed by chef Maiki Le. The 3 course menu that I chose included the ricotta gnudi, which was creamy and rich, and could almost be a meal in itself. For my main course, I ordered the salmon per the recommendation of our very attentive server. Generally, I am wary of ordering salmon because it tends to be overcooked. However, that was not the case with Chef Le's version, which remained slightly translucent on the inside and moist throughout. Lastly, I ordered the Panna Cotta for dessert. The texture was silky, and was complimented well with the tang of the peach preserves and the texture of the crumbles. I had a taste of the sticky toffee pudding, which was sweeter and quite decadent. If you are trying to decide on a Dine LA option, I would hesitate to recommend Upstairs 2.
It was a delicious meal, and our waiter was really nice.
The food was excellent and creative, except that the pears in the mixed salad were hard and under-ripe so disappointing. The servicee was very slow (maybe because this wwas mid-evening on a Friday so crowded - - but our server was courteous and apologetic about the delays). Our main objectin: the noise level was so high we, as a group of 4, could hardly hear one another across the small table. Really annoying!!

We are so sad Upstairs 2 doesn't regularly function as a restaurant at the moment, but really enjoyed our delicious goose diiner-a very special event!

Excellent! Maiki cooks great dishes and the service is friendly and perfect.
The goose and the elk were phenomenal. Our friend thought the lamb was very weird and didn't love it, but the profiteroles made up for that!
We had a wonderful dining experience at Upstairs 2. We went for the annual goose dinner and were not disappointed. The food was terrific, and the wine was excellent and fairly priced.

The pairing of the wines for Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. The zinfandel blend with the main entree was superb. This place is always top notch.
Made the reservations a few weeks in advance. Got to the restaurant and it was closed. No notification and no phone call that would have saved us from driving there. I will NEVER go to that restaurant
This restaurant has always been our favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles but it is now closed. We have been told it may re-open next March with a different concept entirely. To repeat:
THIS RESTAURANT IS NOW CLOSED!!!!!! We had a reservation Saturday night and we reconfirmed it via Open Table Saturday morning, but the restaurant was already closed and no one called us to tell us.
