    Another outstanding visit to Upper Shirley. Seated promptly on the porch. The server was prompt and courteous. The wine and food were delicious. The view was outstanding. An enjoyable time.

    Overall experience was very nice, however, the chairs at the high top tables on the patio were not very comfortable. They need a higher back. When making reservation did not know I had a choice of low top or high top. Also, I noticed when walking through the inside seating, the music was very loud. Would not want to try to carry on a conversation. Prefer softer background music. But food and service was very good!!

    The location is lovely but the winery has changed the way wines may be sampled. The current options are a little pricey. The grazing board was excellent and beautifully assembled.

    We stopped here after biking the Capitol trail. So glad we did. Beautiful grounds and restaurant. Sat on the porch overlooking the River. Food was excellent and so was the service:)

    Really enjoyed my visit. Was not treated like I didn’t belong, which I’ve experienced at other wineries….UNFORTUNATELY. It was really a great relaxing day for me. I will be back with friends and family. Thank you!

    We picked the perfect day to visit! The weather was a but humid but we still enjoyed the covered patio with fans and live music. Food and wines were delicious and the service could not have been any better.

    Everything was great except our reservation was at 3:30. When we first sat down and looked at the menu we all thought we would try the lemon ricotta donuts a try. Well only 45 min into our meal we were ready for those donuts but were told the kitchen turned off the fryer. I would think most restaurants would give a table for 4 at least an hour to eat, or at least have the waitress take our full order so we could have put that order for donuts in before the fryer was turned off. Also there were many people sweeping around us. As a business owner I totally get people want to go home. But we ask staff not to vacuum with people still in the office. Makes you feel rushed. Everything else was really great.

    We visited on a beautiful July morning and had brunch out on the very large open back porch. The view was great overlooking the river, and to top it off, we were able to watch a bald eagle cruise up and down the river. Food, Wait Staff, Facility, and Wine was excellent.

    Have been consistently pleased with this venue for over a year now . We visit it at least once a month and it is clearly our top pick . The menu changes every few months and we are always exploring for new items although completely pleased with the reliable selections from past experiences.

    We made reservations a week in advance for wine tasting and lunch. When we got there we were told that you had to make reservations two weeks in advance for wine tasting, which made no sense because there were only a few people there. Also there was nothing on the website that said that. We decided to stay for lunch since we had driven 45 minutes to get there. The Chardonnay was really terrible, with a bite on the front end; I couldn’t even drink it. The food was good but very overpriced. We will not be going back.

    The menu is wonderfully constructed of familiar choices with a unique twist! We loved the very generous shareables and handhelds. The setting is beautiful and of course we brought 2 bottles of wine home!
