We ordered the lamb. We are the lamb. We ordered another lamb entree. It’s mind-blowing good. Our waiter (Irish) was spectacular. Everything about this restaurant says “we want you to come back often”.

This is the second time that we ate at High-land. The restaurant has great ambience. It has a warm feeling. The food is very good and so is the service. My husband and I shared the Branzino for two and it was very fresh. I asked for the vinagrette that came with it on the side in case it was salty, but it wasn't. My brother had the Lobster pasta and he loved it too! It's hard to find good food in South Beach. High-land rises to the occasion.
The cacio e pepe was wonderful, the crab salad not so much. Way to spicy.

The only complaint is that the kitchen doesn’t debone the fish, which is our favorite dish there. Their brancino is the best dish in Miami in our opinion.
We dined here once before and found that standards haven't lessened at all! This time, we dined here to celebrate our anniversary and our annual visit to the area (from NYC).
We started with something light, and from the sea: Jumbo Lump Crab Salad and Wood Fired Florida Prawns, both of which we recommend highly. The prawns had their heads on, which may frighten some, but certainly add to the presentation (and flavor).
Next, we shared the Ricotta Gnudi, which will suit any cheese lover. The cheese presents as delicate shavings, but add an irresistible salt and nuttiness.
For our main, we shared the Coal Roasted Short Rib (for two), which presents as perfect #foodporn subject matter! We found that it could feed more than just two, but perhaps we owed that to our appetizer and pasta courses prior. For meat-lovers looking for an alternative to a steak will find this choice satisfying, but also impressive where a simple steak falls short.
We shared the Charred Broccoli as a side, which added some much needed 'green' to our dinner. I couldn't have enough!
We finished with the California Dreamsicle, which we found cleaned our palates well enough while adding some dignified sweetness every meal should end with.
With compliments, we also had the Carrot Cake, which presents as a sort of deconstructed take on the traditional dessert. This we'd order again...and again...
Amidst the trendy, touristy, celeb-chef establishments that advertise as if they're fit for foodies, this place really is! There's an unpretentious yet classy, well-executed ambiance about the place. The food we found beyond criticism; truly!

Bucatini cacio e pepe is a simple dish to prepare. Imagine my surprise when our inattentive server brought out our pasta with absolutely no black pepper. Having never checked on us, we had to find the manager who was more concerned with pouring a bottle of rose for another table. After getting his attention, we got a proper bucatini about 15 minutes later.
Service was excellent. Only issue was over-cooked steak, but restaurant comped it.

Yummy, yummy! What a fabulous restaurant. Our waiter explained the menu and answered all of our questions as it was our first time dining at Upland. Everything we ate was incredible. The flavors, uniqueness of the dishes and plating couldn’t have been better. I’m ready to go back for the pistachio pizza and short ribs. Of course the carrots and lobster pasta is a must. The manager came over to check on us and couldn’t have been nicer. Hats off to the entire team at Upland for a beautiful nite out. We will be back soon!

Went to Upland for a dinner date with a guy from out of town who is thinking about moving to Miami. Let’s just say I think Upland helped him make up his mind once and for all. Best dinner I’ve had in a long time!
I like the food and service but the prices are way out of line with the level of the restaurant

This is our second time to dine at Upland - excellent! Exceeded our expectations by far. The ambience is casual yet elegant. The menu interesting and delicious. The sommelier is superb - he knows his wine cellar and is a great source to trying a new wine. The wait staff is exceptional- friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Can’t wait to go back - maybe this weekend!!!
Delicious Italian courses with a wonderful ambiance but a bit loud
We went to Upland for my daughter's 16 birthday it was my husband, myself and my daughter. We ordered a variety of appetizers so we can experience different things - the Prawns, the Tuna tartar, and the duck's wings. The Tuna was excellent and delicate with strong citrus flavor and micro greens. The prawns were fresh and delicious. The duck wings were ok but more ordinary than the other dishes. For the main course, we shared the Branzino which is highly recommended and came out looking amazing and tasting great. The only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because the fish was simply too rich. It was succulent and butter - but we all felt like we ate a whole stick of butter and we all felt a little off that night from eating a heavy meal. So I would have liked the fish to be a little more on the healthy side without overdoing the butter, otherwise, it was a great meal.
Very overpriced poor food. For $33 my salmon was tiny and tasted like it was from Costco. Horrible and too loud atmosphere. Definitely not going back.
The night was very special at Upland, great food, fantastic ambiance, and lively crowd. It was really full, so maybe this is why service could have been a little better, but we loved the whole experience from the start.
Service very bad! This contributes to the overall although my fish was excelente and the dark chocolate mousse
They seated me in front of the host at the next table. So every time I looked up I felt I was at the wrong f table. And the restaurant was empty! If that’s not bad the som served the wrong vintage wine and attempted to justify it for a whooping $5. When I got home I looked up the prices and found that I was served a wine that is approx $10cheaper than the menu price. Unfair! Ridiculous! I will wait to see if u plan to do do something.
Wedding anniversary !
The crudo dish we had was poorly prepared. The lobster pasta was excellent. Server was not the most attentive. Cool atmosphere despite being the slow season in Miami Beach. Overall enjoyable experience.
Kathryn was wonderful. We stopped in for breakfast and she sold us on coming in for diner. Was not disappointed. On our list of top 5 Miami dining

My sister and I came here to celebrate my graduation and fell absolutely in love! We loved the creative take on the veggies (falafel+avocado, the beets and the carrots are MUST orders!) We also tried the two fish courses on the menu and really enjoyed both, the salmon and cod. Most of all, we felt the food was both delicious and healthy. We loved it so much, we came back for dinner the next day! Justin Smillie, you're my new hero!!
