About

This restaurant is permanently closed. Unum is a small, nearly hidden restaurant in the middle of Georgetown. Serving contemporary American food in a sophisticated but unpretentious setting. A favorite among locals, but we welcome visitors from across the globe (e pluribus unum, after all).

We will be serving brunch "Pop-Ups" the last 3 weekends in August and then closing for a little break over Labor Day Weekend.

Unum was fabulous. We were so sorry to hear that it closed the following day.

Unum is delicious and comfortable. And Chef Phil is just the best of the best. Its as if you’re eating at home when home is beautiful and someone else is cooking amazing food!

Great little restaurant. Perfect for all appetite levels as entrees are offered either full or half plate. The beet salad is "un-beetable"; the grilled octupus is exquisite.

Great Chef. Consistently great food. Love that you can order 1/2 portion. Gives everyone a chance to taste more than one great entree. Not just a neighborhood gem; much more than that! Great food.

THIS IS THE VERY BEST RESTAURANT EVER IN GEORGETOWN. PERHAPS DC. MAYBE THE UNITED STATES. PROBABLY THE ENTIRE WESTERN HEMISPHERE.

It was ok. The clientele is on the stuffy side, so if you're looking for a place to get together with your friends and have a good time, this is definitely not it. The staff was nice, service was good. The food was yummy, however we had two vegans with us and they couldn't eat anything because all of their offerings had animal ingredients (even the french fries). Not a big deal tho, just heads up to the vegans out there.

Overall it was good, but I wouldn't go back just because it caters to an older, more quiet crowd.

A great find in Georgetown. Imaginative menu, beautifully prepared seafood, small plates and very reasonable for the quality of the cuisine. A few lower priced wines would be nice.

Unum serves consistently good food. All items come in half or full orders. I love this as I can taste more than one delicious dish. The Chef/owner and his wife are very friendly and often come out and visit with customers. The menu changes each season and has a lot of variety. Don't be offset by the menu, preparations seem "unusual" and sometimes it seems that we don't know what to order, but, whatever we order is always delicious. Wines are very good and reasonably priced as is the food. Great local place with a charming decor and friendly service. It will easily become your favorite neighborhood dining spot.
