I really enjoyed brunch at Union! We took my dad there for Father's Day and he absolutely loved it. The service was great and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
Meal was lovely, service was quick, so got to the show on time. Enjoyed the sangria. Pesto pasta with chicken was very delicious.
The lady who served us was especially kind and thoughtful. Combined with the lighthearted empathy of "Dancing Lesson," Union transformed our evening. Thank you.
Prior to enjoying an evening of theater we dined at Union. The service was excellent allowing us to enjoy a glass of wine before our meal. Our meal of salmon was expertly prepared and quite generous. We had leftovers to take home and our waiter graciously offered to keep them in the kitchen for us. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Everything was superb except for my wife's dinner, which had way too much oil in it.
The burger is the best. Great food and service. And they have plays going on upstairs. Will definitely be back.
UNION is outstanding. Chic yet comfortable, my husband and I stopped by on a Sunday eve for their 4 course tasting menu paired with wine. Every course was delicious and beautifully served. Our waiter explained how each wine was chosen to bring out each dish’s flavors. Run don’t walk to UNION. This is a jewel in downtown Warren. They also have an intimate theatre upstairs which is known for its quality. A lovely evening. We’ll be back.
Food and service were excellent. Ambience lovely. I would recommend this restaurant to all parties large and small.
The personal touch was as good as the food and drinks. Every member of the staff is very knowledgeable and Justin the chef is not only incredibly creative and accommodating but he takes the time to make an effort to meet as many customers as possible. The wine and beer list are fabulous and the sommelier is very friendly and makes the wine list incredibly accessible. Union is an gem that you don't want to miss!
Great brunch. We had two small children & they served them very fast, which allowed us to enjoy ours.
We were disappointed but we would still recommend it and have another date at the Union in two weeks. I think it was just an off night. We are so fond of Max And Charles and Allison and Ed Shea, of course,..that we WANT to like the restaurant. The fish was not as crisp as when we had it first. The fries were excellent but so many and they got cold quickly. The slaw had no flavor. The crab sandwich was difficult to approach. The coffee was excellent and the cookie and gelato was a beautiful presentation but it is hard to eat a cookie with a fork.
The food was excellent, both in presentation and taste!! Menu options were varied so everyone will find something to their taste. Wait staff couldn't do enough for you - they were attentive and professional. The Chef even went around to the diners to check on their food and to see if they had any comments to better any selections - Great Service!!! Big added benefit a Theater !!! But you need not go to a show to enjoy this gem. If you're a foodie at all this place will be your go to for any occasion. Loved it
You will not find a friendlier or more available staff than at Union. The Executive Chef is truly a culinary genius and is readily available to guests to discuss his brilliant culinary mind. With a menu that sources local farm-to-table ingredients carefully and artfully prepared, a visit to Union is like finding a hidden gem. Well worth the trip, Union always lives up to expectations. Be sure to order a signature cocktail or two, especially an espresso martini. Highly enjoyable and masterfully prepared. UNION.. where your meal is prepared with the same passion as the actors on the stage above.
I've been there twice now and the food was excellent both times. There is a theatre upstairs and it's an interesting treat to be waited on by actors, stage managers, etc. It's remarkably quiet and intimate. Can't wait to go back and try something new!!
This is really a hidden gem. Hard to notice because it’s attached to 2nd Story Theatre. You don’t have to be going to the theatre to enjoy it. Food is creative and FABULOUS. Everyone is friendly and attentive and the chef actually comes out to say hello! Ps: cocktails are also great.
Excellent service. The selection was varied. The appetizers were delicious!
My wife and I went here before show at theater located in same building. Overall experience was really good. Nice selection; reasonably- priced; the staff were friendly and attentive.
Great pre-theater place to eat. Excellent food! Nice to be able to just walk upstairs to the play!
Union is must. Tucked inside the 2nd Story theatre building is this restaurant that will soon at the top of everyone’s list. Usually in my experience new restaurants have a number of issues, ie.. lacking ingredients for the dish you ordered, food is cold, special drink menu is subpar. Not Union. Everything was spectacular. Visited for Mother’s Day and could not have been happier. Staff was great and accommodating. Also has plenty of options for the kiddos. We’ll definitely be back.
Overall, the experience was absolutely perfect. Great food, interesting choices, nice staff and very welcoming!
Will return soon.
Great place for Mother’s Day brunch!
This was an OK. The onion soup was to die for but we were disappointed in the appearance of the wait staff. Most wait staff were dressed sloppily in jeans and tee shirts with many wearing ball caps. I realize that this is suppose to be informal but consider having wait staff at least wear aprons. The main course was OK but seemed to lack some flavor. My steak was good but cold. The dessert was highly recommended but was in the end disappointing. My wife was uncomfortable because the host, Ed Shea seemed to hover and stare at the guests. He didn't come over to speak with us as he did at other tables. He just stared. Very uncomfortable feeling. Overall the place has potential with a few modifications to appearances of staff and host.
Staff was extremely attentive without hovering. Food was very well done and the portions were very reasonable. Tables were a little close but not bad. Play afterwards was (as always) fantastic. Menu is diverse enough that you won't get tired of the food.
On my most recent visit to Union on 5/11/18 for dinner, followed by a play upstairs at the Second Story Theatre, I have yet to be disappointed. The attentive to detail for each meal is truly a work of art. Chef Justin pairs all his meals perfectly to create a dish that has no misses. Our party of eight this evening were split between the Salmon, and New York Strip entrees. The four ladies lauded the Salmon beyond compare, as the man-cavers lavished over a most tender, tasty and perfectly grilled steak. All laccompanying sides wowed us as well. Fingerling potatoes, wilted spinach, tomato risotto, et al made each meal a masterpiece. On two of my dining experiences, I previously had the Grilled Pork Chop, cooked to a perfect medium, served with a coffee and coriander crust, served with a ramekin of the damn! best Mac and Cheese this palate has ever come across. Service was alert, friendly and attentive. During each dinner we’ve had there, the aforementioned Chef Justin made a point of visiting our table to see if he had satisfied us. He appeared to have blushed a tad as we extolled our satisfaction on our menu choices. After the well performed show upstairs, we ended the evening with an after dinner drink, and desserts that are house prepared, and make an evening at Union deserving of a “Standing O”. Second Story Theater’s got it all at one venue. Treat yourself to an evening of enlightenment!
A real gem. Pairing our dining experience at Union with the theatrical treat of 2nd Story Theatre was a perfect combination. our party chose a variety of selections and each was a unique discovery. The Buddha bowl and other vegetarian offerings were excellent. Also, the wine selections were well chosen to enhance the menu offerings. There were plenty of other diners at tables near us but conversation was easy to enjoy as the noise levels weren't a problem. Sophisticated, intimate setting, fantastic staff and Ed was there to add a soupçon of levity to the conversation! Union was a wonderful new discovery, we'll be back.
I took my very good friend there for her birthday. It was a Wednesday so we had the place to ourselves. The chef made a point to come out and ask us how we were enjoying the food. It was PHENOMENAL!!! We had hand-crafted cocktails made with unique spirits that were delicious!!! We weren't rushed and enjoyed the beautifully decorated bar area and ambiance. They are building a tap room on the lower level that I think is going to add to the charm of this one of a kind dinner theater. Next time I am in town - I plan to make my reservation for the full experience. Can't say home much I enjoyed the fabulous evening with a good friend, to die for food and great welcoming staff!!!
What a gem!! Everything about this place was wonderful! Definitely would recommend either before a show upstairs OR as a dinner destination. Thank you Ed Shea! You have created another masterpiece!
Excellent food, original cuisine, service good, waiters polite. Only one drawback is noise level is a bit high, due to tin ceilings and wood floor- no buffers to sound- and the bar noise doesn't help. We were sitting right next to the bar so it might have been less noisy further away, or in the other room. But we loved it anyway!
Plenty of delicious gluten free options and they really are gluten free. Our "normal" friend enjoyed her food, too.
Overall the food was excellent! Almost anyone can find something they like.
Union was an unexpected find. The food was very good; that's a given. But I was especially impressed by the attentive staff who helpfully directed me to my new favourite stout. A definite must-try if visiting the area.
food was spectacular, with the chef coming by our table asking about the food - and taking well our minor criticisms about the spices on one dish. perfect ambiance and the pricing was fair for such a wonderful meal.
Yesterday evening was a beer tasting with 4 different food courses accompanying the tasting. The food went from delicate to robust. And every bite was delicious. The dishes were elegant works-of-art. Most important though, was the food and the perfect pairings with the different beers. I also have to say that it’s impossible to not have a good time here. The waitstaff are knowledgeable regarding the food and drinks, and they’re just plain a lot of fun. Huge bonus is having the Chef come and talk to you about the food and checking if you are happy with your dinner. This is a MUST try place. And you will be going back again and again!
If you haven’t been to The Union lately... please do yourself a huge favor and get there! It is tastefully renovated, including a beautiful new bar. We had a most superb birthday dinner for our friend Belle. The menu offers so many delightful options and while none of us are vegetarians or vegans, there are fabulous options for those who are. We feasted on several amazing options that we all shared so we could try everything...it was all positively delicious! The wait staff was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. The most impressive part of the evening was the absolutely fantastic desserts. You must try it yourself to experience a most positive, tasty and engaging dining experience! Hope to see you there!!
Attended the special Ghost Light supper. Very comfortable, friendly atmosphere with good service. Chef Justin’s choices for the fix price menu were outstanding! A creamy corn chowder with subtle flavorings and lots of shrimp, beautiful cheese in pastry only exceeded by the salad with almond cream dressing, steak in a truly divine sauce, and a berry mousse with prosecco whipped cream! With the thoughtful wine pairings, a really majestic meal.
Union will henceforth be the site of our most frequent dining-out experiences. Food and drink are both fine, environment is comfortable, and staff is outstanding.

My friends and I decided to try Union on a Thursday evening for their special wine /meal pairing. We had been to 2nd Story Theatre in the past and completely enjoyed the experience before the new addition Union. My husband and I , since hearing about the new restaurant opening had been wanting to try it. We received an email about a special menu which included a four course meal with each course having a wine pairing for only $ 40.00. You could of course order from their regular menu but the special sounded very intriguing . I have to say it was by far one of the best meals I have ever had and my friends agreed!. Everything was just perfect. The chef, Jason, came to introduce himself and explained all about what we would be experiencing. During each course a glass of wine was served that complimented the particular course. The general manager, Chuck , took time to explain the process of how it was chosen. You could tell so much thought and planning went into the whole experience. Each course was amazing and the wine was fabulous! Our waitress, Nancy , made our whole experience so special. She made sure we had everything we needed and was so helpful and answered all of our questions. She made sure we had just the right time in between courses so not to feel rushed. If I had to rate this experience based on 5 stars I would give it a 5++++!!! The restaurant part of the 2nd story Theatre has just recently opened so not too many people are aware of it just yet. Also, I don't think people realize that you don't have to go to the theatre in order to enjoy the restaurant, you can go to just the restaurant during normal business hours . They told me they would be offering these wine pairing meals again along with beer pairing meals and scotch pairing meals along with their regular menu as well. I know we will definitely going back to try some of the other offerings as well as spreading the word as to the gem of a restaurant we found in Warren R. I.
Great new place in Warren’s downtown. Service and food are both top-notch. Definitely will be coming back.
Recently redone, was pleasantly surprised at how fantastic Union was. Food was very good, service was fantastic. Great opportunity for a date night as the theater is right upstairs! Have dinner, see a show! We will definitely be back!
We like the 2nd Story and the Union.
I do wish the theatre would not be in the round. Harder for older people to hear.
Would also like the theatre to have season's tickets again.
When you had season's tickets, I never saw an empty seat. Also, I attended every play.
I do think your food is a winner! Keep up the good work!
