Union Sushi + Barbeque Bar Ratings and Reviews
Went with a group of 7 people for my birthday and two others. Had a reservation for 8pm got there at 8:02pm and didn’t get seated until 8:35pm. There isn’t anywhere to wait so we felt like we were pretty much in everyone’s way while standing around. Your entire party also has to be present (which we all were) but to wait 30 mins was un acceptable.
The drink quality was also exceptional...our group got a variety from their cocktail menu and they were made very well. I would recommend the surprise and delight..really refreshing.
We ordered a whole variety of items..soft shell crab sushi, Bristol bay sushi rolls, alligator rib, hamachi Kama, lamb chops, kangaroo, etc. the food comes out at different times depending on where it’s being prepped and cooked at (they have 3 different stations).
The food was spot on ...not one person in our group said differently. Really great quality for everything that we got and extremely tasty. The sushi and sashimi were very very fresh. I’ve been to a lot of different sushi spots all over and it was easily in my top 5 in terms of aesthetic, taste and freshness.
This is a trendy river North Korean bbq/sushi house so if you want to actually eat be prepared to spend more than you are planning.. specifically for the bbq menu since portion size is small.
They were very nice to bring out 3 cups of ice cream for the people who’s birthdays it was..a great touch on their part. The pumpkin mochi cake was amazingly delicious.
This is our favorite restaurant for our reason! Each visit is better than the previous. We came here for a belated Valentine's Day (and first postpartum) date night and had a blast. The food and service were excellent. The host seemed a bit disorganized and distracted when we first walked in but our amazing server more than made up for it. It's perhaps not quite as "fancy" as it used to be but the crowd was lively and polite.
We where there for valentines dinner! Pretty happy about the place and everything except that the food toked a long time! They say it was bcz of what we order.
which it was 4 different rolls, and the calamari need to be Fried,it was a lil upsetting because we were starving and when the food arrive the calamari roll was cold! But we just ate it anyways and it was pretty good even thoughts it was cold! But the server was great! We had a great experience overall. Just if you order the roll be prepared to wait a list 30m!
Best dirty martini I’ve had in a long time! I asked for blue cheese stuffed olives, which the waiter said they didn’t have. He came back with a couple that the bartender had made and the drink couldn’t have been better. The music was awesome, and the food was yummy. Only complaint is that upstairs where they sat us was a bit cramped. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it. Cute place!
We celebrated a birthday at Union recently, it never disappoints. Everything was delicious and we had the best service, we will be back. It’s always hard celebrating a birthday on Valentine’s Day when restaurants are so busy - so thank you for helping to make her day special.
My Wife and I were there for our three year anniversary. We arrived about a half hour early, it was a bit busy but the host was able to accommodate us, and seated us early. The waiter was very attentive and made good recommendations on the menu. My wife being pregnant was limited to the veggie rolls. She ordered a cucumber roll that she didn’t quite like. The waiter took it off of our bill even though we didn’t ask him to. At the end of our meal they surprised us with a complimentary chocolate mousse cake that was very delicious. Overall it was a great experience and would recommend it!
Had a reservation and had to wait 15 mins for the table, which was fine given it was a busy Friday night. Once seated, though, we waited another 15 minutes to order, another 10 to get our drinks, and over an hour to get our actual entrees (sushi, specifically). We got hot food 30 minutes before our sushi, which was cold by the time the sushi hit the table. The server did apologize and she was very nice, but in my opinion they should have comped us a dessert or sushi roll, something, for waiting an entire hour for sushi. The place was very loud and crowded and people next to us were very obnoxious. For $100 I feel like you can get better and much faster service. Food was 7.5/10 but service and ambiance ruined it for us. Won’t be going back.
