Candied Pork Belly
Chef dan's secret dry rub and pineapple habenero candy glaze (wait until you see this one!)
Such great food, drinks and service. Will definitely be back!
On a scale of 1 to 10 the food is an 11. We went for Sunday brunch. The breakfast burrito was filling and flavorful. The chicken and waffles in maple bourbon syrup with apple brown butter chutney is the BEST chicken and waffles I have ever had. ( And I have had it at many places!) We also got the bretzel. A soft pretzel dipped in egg wash and lightly cooked like french toast with salted caramel and cinnamon and sugar. Yum! Will be back and would highly recommend!
Great food and service!
Joe was an excellent server! All the food was delicious as always, my only complaint was the polenta with the special lamb shank. The polenta tasted bland but also dry like it had been made days earlier. The dish would have been better less as a broth but more over a creamier textured polenta.
We came in ahead of the scheduled reservation and were seated immediately. Restaurant space is well appointed - nice bar area. We sat in the back dining space which may open out onto a rear outdoor dining place. Staff was masked. Menu was inviting - winter options seemed hearty. Sadly the server was inattentive - neglected to bring appetizer we ordered until the entrees came out. The appetizer was lukewarm - dumplings -but thankfully tasty. Did not think the tomato soup and grilled cheese array required the banana hanger to suspend the sandwich - detracted from eating it as it hand to be dismantled and removed from the hanger. Just put it on the plate honestly. Sadly the service was where the meal fell down - the waiter was pleasant but distracted. Between the lateness of the appetizer and being presented the wrong bill it just added to the overall just ok feeling for the meal. $80 plus a 15% tip for two. I understand the price but the stumbles in service and food mean we won’t be back.
We sat in the back room where it is much quieter, our waiter was attentive and responsive during our meal experience. The food was delicious and hot. We really enjoyed our meal and experience.
Waitstaff was great. Food was tasty and delicious but portions could be slightly larger.
Such a cute dining area. Food and drinks were great, wish there was a little bit more to choose from but still great options. Waitstaff was very friendly and helpful.
Great new restaurant in Foxboro center. I had many good lunches here, but this was my first dinner. The lamb shank was incredibly good, could easily compete with the best restaurants in Providence or Boston. Definitely coming back soon.
Another visit to a great place.
Very bland food.
Got the chicken pot pie
It was not great no flavor whatsoever
Appetizers were pretty but very tasteless as well.
Got voodoo shrimp and the duck biscut
Would not go back if food was this tasteless again
Food was very good. We will be back.
Food was amazing as always but we were a little disappointed they did not read that our reservation was to celebrate our engagement as they did not ever acknowledge it. I would recommend calling them ahead of time to tell them about a special occasion instead of adding it in to the reservation online.
Service was excellent, food was amazing! They’ve definitely earned a repeat customer
Amazing service and food. Definitely did not disappoint.
great food, location and ambiance. the waffles are incredible. must try.
I really like Union Straw! Always good with a very friendly staff. Great place to meet between Providence and Boston.
Great service & great food. Would absolutely go back again.
The manager (male) that is there is amazing. A few weeks before Christmas we called and as usual, they were busy. The hostess told me that we could attempt to walk in since they do save some tables for "non-reservations"... when we got there the girls at the hostess station told me there was nothing they could really do since they were very busy. The manager came over and said "let me see if I can offer some of the tables that are reserved seats at the bar- we might get lucky"... I said that would be amazing. He went out of his way to get my family a table, and our meal was amazing. I have seen him a few times now since we have been back, and he is just always so hardworking and pleasant. Makes the place so much more enjoyable!
absolutely love union straw!!
The food, drink selection, and service were great!
Great local neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommend the pork belly appetizer!
have dined here many times before and enjoyed every minute of it. Last night was an exception from below par cocktail to overdone and chewy candied pork belly to lukewarm and little flavor pizza. Kitchen help needs retraining and more quality control.
Waitress was amazing, food was delicious and drinks on point! We will be back!
Amy , our waitress was very friendly . The food was also awesome. The entire staff at Union Straw are really welcoming
Excellent top-notch service and ambience! Chicken pot pie was pretty disappointing and our food overall wasn’t as good as the last time, but drinks were delicious and we will still return.
Great food but small portions and slow service for sunday-brunch
We enjoyed our dinner with friends at Union Straw. The food was excellent and service could not have been better. Our only regret was ordering the “Bonuts” for dessert. The other portions were probably more to our liking. All-in-all, this was a great experience and we will be back!
First time at Union Straw was great. The food was fantastic. The menu was very straightforward and had plenty of choices without being overwhelming. The service was great as well. Everything came out very fast and the drinks (martini and orange/cran mule) were awesome. 10/10 recommended. Perfect for a date night or a night out with the boys. 👍🏻
Our first time at Union Straw was great! We came for my boyfriend's birthday. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were sat immediately upon arrival (though we did have a reservation). The ambiance and aesthetic of the place is awesome; it gives off a modern country feel. I ordered the chicken pot pie, which was amazing with shredded chicken and two puff pastries on top! My boyfriend ordered the smash burger which he also loved. He also ordered the apple pie old fashioned which was amazing as well! We will definitely be back!
Our server Parker was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, helpful and attentive..
I hate leaving a negative review. As a business owner … I don’t like the negative reviews .. But - always appreciative to know - if the user experience isn’t great. That way changes can be made.
This was our 3rd visit. The other 2 visits were very good.
1. The food was sub par. Bad actually.
Hamburger for my kid was burnt.
Steak on a salad impossible to cut -
Homemade carrot cake was a stale muffin…
I could go on …
2. Wait service - nice - but seemed very distracted - but not very happy not sure about the dishes…
I tipped more than 20% - but I normally I tip much higher because I know it’s a hard business and hard to service clients.
We won’t be going back - if I’m going to spend $175 I’ll do it elsewhere.
Great place! Was so excited to try this place. Everything was delicious.
Birthday dinner, very nice place with great atmosphere. Better attention to food requests, two meals undercooked… but our server was great! Will be back to give it another go.
I frequent Union Straw, and find the food to be consistently top tier. Service is always great and the ambiance is as well. My only suggestion (and it isn’t a major one) is to perhaps revamp the cocktail menu.
A unique hidden jem. One to try. Foxborough's one true cool restaurant
Amazing place, great staff and top notch food. Great place for a nice date night. We will be back again.
Great service and great food! I would highly recommend
and will visit again.
Went last night for our anniversary and it was so good! The pork chop was great and my wife really enjoyed the pumpkin risotto. We had the waffle ice cream sandwich for dessert and it was amazing! Will definitely be back!
We went at 1 on a Sunday not knowing it was brunch. Ordered the chicken and waffles and the biscuits and gravy. The chicken is basically chicken fingers. I sent the biscuits and gravy back since the gravy was like thin chicken soup and the home fries were cold. Also ordered hash browns on the side to find out they brought me home fries. They did eventually make me hash browns (which were in the menu) and I ordered a cinnamon roll. I will go back but not for Sunday brunch.
