   We love Union Square Cafe. The service is excellent with out being overbearing and there is a very hospitable feel to the place. The food is seasonal and always good without being fussy. I could eat several orders of calamari --- wonderful. We were happy to hear from our waitperson that they are not closing just moving. What a relief!

   Impeccable, friendly service. Butter lettuce salad and oysters to start set the tone for a perfect dinner. Followed by the sunchoke truffle appetizer which melted in our mouths and then lingered in just the right way. My husband loved his lamb and Tokyo turnips. I had the swordfish meatballs with lemon, anchovy and chili flavors which worked together to divine effect. The wine pairings were excellent. Apple tart with chipotle and brown butter? Yes! We loved that and our waiter gave us a free special wine for another delightful pairing. Our seat was out of the way and even though we were surrounded by other people we never felt crowded. It was a special occasion for us and we felt special and romantic. I wish this restaurant would always be here forever!

   We've eaten at USC several times over the last few years, and have enjoyed it every time. Unlike many restaurants that have been around a while, this one actually seems to be getting better. Our last trip there was for a special occasion, and the three of us agreed it was one of the best dining experiences overall that we've had in a while. There are fancier places, but Union Square Café strikes just the right balance of great food, a cool vibe, and great service. We'll definitely be back!

   We ate here about a year ago during the polar vortex and had such a good meal we booked it again as our first dinner back in the city . It did not disappoint. From the breads and dipping sauce to the calamari appetizer to the Christmas goose and swordfish dinners, the flavors were outstanding and so was the service. Sitting upstairs is a plus for both the view and the noise. We also BYOB and although corkage was $25, still worth it for a good bottle of wine. We will definitely go there again in our next visit to NYC.

   The salade was delicious, the pasta had nothing memorible and were overcooked. Overall, it was an expressive experience.

   This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, the food is so good and I like the friendly service. I've heard it will be closing soon and I'm sad to hear it, hope to be able to come a few more times before that.

   We appreciated the attentive wait-staff, and especially advice from Jamal to accommodate the dietary restrictions for one of our diners. All our plates were attractive, carefully prepared, and delicious. The sommelier was very helpful in paring a new-to-us wine with our entrees. Hope to see the restaurant re-appear in a new location!

   Lunch was everage. Appetizers were just passable, the three skate fish arrived breaded greasy and soggy. Not what you expect of restaurant at this level. In the past we had dinners at The Union Sq cafe and most of the time it was a good experience. Considering it is before Christmas (the place was packed), the service was excellent. The atmosphere was festive and the wine list good. The food was dissapointing.

    Great service! Great food! Excellent light gnocchi! Had never had gnocchi like that! Loved it!
