Wonderful meal, friendly staff, excellent service!
Great view of the ocean from the porch.
Food was very sub par. I cannot fathom the reviews this place has garnered.
We sat on the balcony, which is lovely. But, a table of three men were smoking the whole meal and the restaurant did not address it.
The lobby smells like mold.
The service was polite and attentive.
The salmon dish, creme brûlée, and chocolate ganache were outstanding. Service was extremely personable and professional. She gave good recommendations and did not rush us through dinner.
We really enjoyed our evening.
We eat here once a year (we're locals). I used to feel it was stuffy and snobby, but it was a truly nice meal with great service. A very positive experience.
Fantastic dinner, loved the porch, food was incredible & whiskey ganache superb! We will becoming back again! Thank you
Great place, needs a bit of updating but the food was amazing!
Great service and wonderful food!!
Wonderful 3 course pre-fixe. Food was beautifully presented, prepared perfectly and delicious. Portion size was adequate. Love being able to bring our own wine. Service was excellent. I’ve been to Cape May numerous times but never to Union Park. I will now be a regular customer!
Perfection! Great service and wonderful food. Recommend the salmon or rib eye. We also enjoyed the fresh seafood tower appetizer. Our favorite Cape May restaurant!!
Lovely room and a nice change from the usual trunks and T-shirts vibe of beachfront places. Food is classic French-influenced. Everything was tasty and nicely presented. Two minor deficits: the place is BYOB and that is not prominently displayed on Open Table, so we were stuck with a NJ wine that is not going to win any awards any time soon but is all they could serve under NJ'S bizarre and corrupt liquor laws. Not their fault, of course, but Open Table should highlight this restriction when it exists, and every member of the NJ legislature should be forced to drink nothing but the mediocre (or worse) local wines until they reform the state's laws into something more rational and make licences more available. The second deficit: it seemed to take a long time for the kitchen to deliver the main course.
Cape May fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere.
Food was fabulous. It always is. We were celebrating my husbands birthday. Just wonderful.
We love Union Park ! It is our favorite restaurant! The food is fantastic! The staff are attentive and knowledgeable! The ambiance is fancy but not stuffy! Hope to get to go again soon!
By far one of the best meals we had in a while. We ended up ordering off the menu but they offered several specials for starters and entrees. The tuna tartar was delicious and the pineapple was a refreshing component. The bao buns were unique as well as the papaya slaw that they came with. I had the duck which was cooked perfectly. The farro offered a great balance of sweet and savory and the crispy skin on top was a delicious surprise. My husband had the 8oz filet which was unbelievably soft, tender and flavorful. A side of lump crab meat was added for a great surf and turf meal. We did not have room for dessert but the espresso was quite good.
We sat outside on the porch which was quiet and comfortable. The restaurant is across from the beach but didn't really have a view as there were buildings on the boardwalk. It was still pleasant to be able to sit outside by the ocean.
Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Overall a fantastic meal.
Lovely ambiance that could be enhanced with music. Years ago, there was a musician who played the harp. It was so wonderful! It may have been off season or near Christmas... not sure.
The food at Union Park is average. Overpriced, and average. There are many other places in Cape May to have a lovely dinner. We prefer to sit outside on their porch. However, this time there were smokers on the rockers from the hotel Union Park rents it's space from. We moved and more smokers came on the rockers. All the porch diners were complaining and nothing was done.
Smoking on the porch made outside dining unacceptable we were very disappointing. It was not at all what we hoped to experience when paying the prices.
Great food and exceptional service. It’s BYO so bring your favorite bottle of wine.
I had the lobster dinner and it was well worth the money. Best dinner, and service in Cape May!
Delicious food for vegetarians! The deserts are awesome!
Best restaurant in Cape May. Food was great. Nice selection of apps and entrees. It’s one of the best restaurants in Cape May.
Great place, good food, love the ambiance and views of the ocean
very good food, Shirley was our serveur, she took the time to explain everything to us. We ordered the seafood plateau and it was very fresh and tasty.
Wonderful food and ambiance.Great value eating from the fixed price menu. Enjoyed being able to bring our own wine. Service was paced very well; waitress would not offer cork from wine bottle for one of our companions to examine after he asked. She said she would know right away if it was bad wine...
Union Park is one of the best restaurants because the food and staff are top notch.
Union Park is a Cape May “don’t miss”—from the lovely venue to the wonderful, attentive service (kudos to Shirley) everyone should enjoy a special dinner. Beet salad and buratta appetizers are always great. The short rib and pan-roasted chicken never dissapoint.
Throughout dinner my husband and I repeatedly asked “why have we never dined here before!” We’re locals for goodness sake. We come to Cape May all year round and have been for over 20 years. But for some reason we never dined at Union Park. Starting now Union Park is one of our favorite restaurants in Cape May. We both had the crab cake appetizer, which was phenomenal. I had the salmon entree, which was so delicious and such a generous portion I am looking forward to the remainder for lunch today. I saved room for the semi-Fredo, which were rich chocolate clouds of heaven. My husband had the filet, which he said was one of the best he had ever eaten. He finished with profiteroles, which were a little of a challenge to eat but worth the effort. Dine at Union Park, you won’t be disappointed!
It has been a couple of years since we have dined at Union Park. Never disappointed. The wait staff is always courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. Our waitress suggested that we enjoy our wine on the front porch after dinner and actually made a point of coming out to check on us. It was wonderful just to sit there and enjoy the views and peacefulness of the night. Food was outstanding. We felt the appetizers were little overpriced. I chose the prix fixed dinner because I like the smaller portions. The lobster tail with the risotto was perfectly cooked and seasoned. We could not have wished for a better evening spent with our friends at such a beautiful spot.
My wife and I had a great time. The food was outstanding and the service was fantastic. I recommend this restaurant.
Terrific service, ambiance and delicious meals!!
Menu is not large, but has great choices in meat and fish options. I had the shrimp and scallops, it was topped with a light slaw. My wife had the Salmon with the Quinoa and loved it. Lorie was a great server who was attentive and was super friendly. Added benefit of BYOB. I highly recommend.
This was our first time on Cape May, and for our "Saturday night/date night" dinner, we were looking for something that would be exceptional. We are true foodies - so I generally choose a restaurant by the by the menu, and then by the reviews (on Open Table, primarily). If we're going to spend $200+ on dinner for 2, we want to be surprised and delighted. The chef didn't disappoint. Wonderfully original and beautiful dishes. My appetizer was the foie gras, a generous portion (although I wanted more of it to be in better balance with the other ingredients - there were a lot of them!) over a delicate apple cake, with a spot of fig jam, arugula and finely diced pears was an amazingly complex combination of flavors and just fabulous. I had the duck (breast and confit farro) as an entree; my only complaint (and it's a small one) is that the wait staff should be informed enough about the dishes to advise a customer that the accoutrements of the duck are somewhat similar (arugula and diced pears were served with this as well and was not mentioned in the menu description). That said, this presentation was different from any I've ever had: the chef "deconstructed" the duck breast by removing the skin from the breast and rendering it extra crisp and quite seasoned - the saltiness of the thick, crispy skin was delicious and wonderful contrast to the sweet pears and arugula - the duck meat perfectly cooked (I asked for medium rare, and it was, exactly). It was finished with a a light-as-air foie gras mousse which added a touch of earthiness to the other flavors. Perfectly balanced. My husband had the rack of lamb, also amazing. The dessert menu was equally delightful, we opted to share the whiskey-salted ganache, which was a wonderful "fluff" of deep chocolate mousse over a dense, almost chewy base of the ganache that was so rich, I was glad we were sharing. Would go back in a nano-second.
Excellent food. I ordered from the gluten free menu and had an excellent number of choices and the food was truly amazing! Highly recommend, especially if you have a gluten/wheat allergy!
Very nice service. Food was okay.
Excellent service (Laurie!), food, and ambiance. Highly recommended!
Dining room was very noisy and the wait staff was racing around in all directions. Our waitress was trying to do a good job but they were really frenetic. Food was brought to our table that we didn’t order because they had different people serving. I had to wave it away as it was being placed in front of me. Either they were short staffed or the kitchen was just overwhelmed. Food was better than average but nothing very special - but we all thought the fig appetizer was superb.
We went to Union Park for the first time on July 5. We arrived at 5:30PM for the $39 Pre-Fix menu .
The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional. Union Park is now our favorite restaurant in the Cape May/Wildwood area. The restaurant is best for a romantic dinner for two but we did see larger parties with a few teenagers. The outdoor terrace dining would be best for parties with pre-teens and teenagers.
Excellent all the way around! Will definitely return!
Dinner was excellent
Shirley was delightful
And fireworks when we left what could be better!
