The Union Oyster House, located on the Freedom Trail, near Faneuil Hall, enjoys the unique distinction of being America's oldest restaurant. We eat at the UOH every time we come to Boston. With that said, this was our first time back since the pandemic. While the food is still good, and the service was excellent, I felt it wasn’t quite the great experience from the past when we would all rave about what we had.

We had a blast! We haven’t been there for years, but I recently saw The Union Oyster House on Samantha Brown’s travel show so we needed another visit. We sat at the oyster bar and our hosts Matt and Thomas were friendly, fun and accommodating. We had some Sam Adam’s beer they brew specifically for The Union Oyster House. It was quite good. I wish they sold it in stores. The clam chowder was very good and of course the oysters were the highlight of our visit. Very tasty! I had one of the meatiest oysters I’ve ever eaten. Then we met Dan, who was featured on Samantha’s show. The super shucker! He was so sweet. They all were. All of the staff there are so nice and friendly. They also have the biggest, beautiful wooden bar. we will definitely return.

Our experience here was awesome! The food was delicious, especially the sautéed shrimp and scallops. Debbie, our server, was the best! We will definitely be back next time we are in Boston!

5 stars! Hands down the best meal I’ve had in a long time—crab cakes, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and that Boston crème pie…perfection. Union Oyster Bar is a true classic, and it’s no surprise they’re about to hit 200 years. An oldie, but an absolute goodie!

Great experience just to say you've been there. However that comes with tourist prices for food that is kinda lacking.
