It’s a good place to drink a beer and grab one or two sandwiches.Service, well it’s better to go to the bar and buy, instead of waiting.
Food was worse than usual. Waitress Nicole was great, had to wait for table to be set for 15 min in beginning after making reservation and it was empty in there
Went for brunch on a Sunday with my husband and mother in-law. The weather was beautiful so it was a bit more crowded than normal, since the restaurant is right on the water. Another caveat is that we went during Sunday football, which made the bar a bit more crowded than usual. HOWEVER, I still don't think that's any excuse for the long wait for our food. Our first small plates came out right away, but we waited at least 45 minutes from that time until the main plates came out. Also, the entire time we were there, it was almost impossible to hear each other speak. The acoustics in there are just horrible. $24 is a good deal, but not worth the wait or the noise. If you are going with a few college buddies to watch a game and drink, probably fine, but not for a relaxing brunch or with anyone you actually want to have a conversation with...
Reasonably priced, lovely waterfront location and tasty food was offset by horrible service. My date had a couple severe allergies (including a very serious egg allergy), and when he informed the waiter he seemed like he did not care at all. We asked specifically for no sauce on a burger (assuming it was mayo based and contained egg), and asked about the possibility of egg being in the bun for the burger. We kindly asked for the waiter to ensure that was the case, but he didn't write anything down and didn't even seem like he heard what my date said. Not being comfortable with the waiters response and cavalier attitude, I got up to use the restroom and stopped at the bar to ask a gentleman who seemed like a manager about the possibility of egg being in the bun, to which he said there probably was and went to the kitchen to alter my order. There was a slight apology involved with that, but quite honestly, not enough. This is a casual fun place with tasty food and a cute atmosphere, but I wouldn't dine here if you have any worries about allergies or a desire for thorough service.
My wife and I were here on a Friday night for restaurant week. We were very surprised by the value for four course meal plus wine pairing. The dishes were innovative and generally tasty, with our favorites being cauliflower fried rice and burrata. Ambience was similar to that of a food hall and was very energetic. Only disappointing part was the slow service, which may be from the way manager allocated tables from different areas to the same server.
Great location and views, kid friendly! Great service.
Delicious, surprising bites. Perfect for sharing and servers knew exactly how to pace plates going to our group.
Good food and prices, spacious dining area, pleasant staff.
Good food decent prices
Terrific brunch option. Let's you sample many things without gorging yourself.
It is extremely loud in this restaurant, especially around 8pm on a Saturday. They need to put some carpet on the walls or something to catch the sound!!! I came with my parents and luckily they sat us in the back but we still had trouble hearing both ourselves and our server. The food was just ok, nothing special. The best dish we had was the brussels and kale Caesar. The gnocchi with muzz was very disappointing and didn’t taste like anything at all. We also had the meatballs, which were decent, red hot wings which were good, tuna, and two others that I don’t remember. Overall, a bit disappointed with the food and the noise in the restaurant.
Food is good.
Great! Love the big drinks and the free refills!
Great food. Awful service. Waited almost 30 minutes for our drinks and over an hour for food. We stopped in for a quick brunch, and it took us 2 hrs and 15 mins to get through our meal. The waiter was clearly frazzled and very dismissive to our needs. Bummed to have had such a bad experience, especially since the food was good.
Pretty good. Came party of 4 with friends for a birthday.
French onion soup balls
Told the waitress it was a birthday when ordering desserts and ordered 2 - nothing
Hanger steak came with 2 pieces of steak for $15
Meatballs were ice cold
All of the food was great! Loved the hummus and priced well.
Loved it! Food was great and atmosphere was so fun. It was overall a great experience and we will be back!
Got there around 9pm and it was so pounding loud we couldn’t even hear each other at the dinner table
Food was amazing! Service was great and our waiter was really fun and personable. Definitely going back for brunch and other meals soon!
Went for brunch with a big group. Service was not great - it took forever to get our food. The drink special with the big rum punches and mimosas was great and worth it and the food was yummy too, just wish the timing of it all worked out better.
we went with another couple for sunday brunch, the place is nice & comfortable & the food was good, we all got the brunch deal.... BUT the noise level is AWFUL we could barely hear each other talk or hear our waiter, speaking of our waiter....he was friendly & soft spoken which didn't help with the noise level mentioned but was obviously new with NO SERVING EXPERIENCE, we had to explain things to him! it was bad, he didn't even think you could get dressing on the side of the very delicious salad! my friend said he thinks it might have been one of the worst servers ever....
the brunch was yummy, one dish came out cold other than that we enjoyed it, they MUST do something about the noise level in there, get an acoustic professional in to fix it
A fun spot for more casual food. Very close to public transportation. Great views of the Hudson River!
Very nice location along the waterfront. Inside was clean. It is American tapas style food choices. Everything we had was delicious.
The food was very good. So was the location and view...near the Hudson. This is a noisy, energetic place made even more noisy by a loud, vibrating HVAC system. Staff was friendly and caring but occasionally seemed a little confused ... different waiter came for drink and food orders and it did not appear they communicated with each other. That said, it was an enjoyable evening.
Food was good but mimosa was not....the service was a bit slow.
Really excellent modern American food in a cool space. Very gf and vegetarian friendly. We had a blast.
The food is okay and it’s good value for your $$. I highly recommend the cauliflower fried rice!
Excellent restaurant, service was spot on, price was what you would expect for a Hoboken restaurant. Only complaint, very loud. If you are trying to have an intimate conversation, may not be the best location. But we were a large group and all of us enjoyed!
loved the atmosphere! we had a great waitress that explained everything and made recommendations on our choices.
Union Hall is an interesting bar/gastro-pub located on the Hoboken water front. You have phenomenal views of the city.
The menu selection is primarily small bites, but it was difficult to pick out which of the dishes were fully sharable vs some that may not be (e.g. Salad). However, the food was great-definitely on the heavy side even though it's small bites but great! And great embience.
Food was very good! We came for brunch. However their $2 mimosas were all orange juice. You can tell by the color. I’d come back for dinner but probably not brunch. The Brussels sprout Cesar salad is fabulous.
Lots of small plates that are very different. I liked the unique choices a lot! Also a good spot to just sit with a drink at the bar and watch a game. Will be back!
The service was slow to start but they were busy and it turned around quickly. The food was great, my favorites were the banh mi salad and tamale dumplings. I had a gin cocktail that was also great. Highly recommend!
The menu was very limited and the food was a disappointment. I had a lobster slider and the lobster was chewy . I questioned whether it was truly all lobster as it had a slight tuna fish taste. I could be wrong, but regardless the lobster was not good and the texture was chewy. They also offer a cobb salad slider which is basically a turkey burger slider with an over abundance of pepper and a little sauce. It was worse then the lobster slider. Icouldn't finish it and it was the size of a slider! I would not go back nor would I recommend.
Loved this place- the deal drinks were not too strong but loved the small plate options for a group brunch!
Samantha our server was exceptional! She set the mood for an outstanding lunch by catering to our needs! She verified what food my husband could eat, he is gluten sensitive! Had the food prepared gluten free and then when dessert time came she said wait , I am going to see if we can make a special one for him. She can back with a delicious very and ice cream gluten free dessert! She was very resourceful and kept on impressing us! Strongly recommend this restaurant and Samantha!
I have never had worse service in my life! The menu was really strange & all over the place. It took forever to get. We had shot girls come to our table while we were eating like it was a club. This place was not worth the wait! It was super tacky & felt like it didn't know if it wanted to be a club or a restaurant. SO HORRIBLE!! NEVER AGAIN
Great new restaurant with a chef owner creating unique new small plates. Excellent bar. But I still don't understand why blasting lousy music is supposed to add to one's eating pleasure. It is the reason I avoid a lot of restaurants. Food and conversation are supposed to be relaxing experiences. They aren't with weird noises, believed by some to be music, overwhelming the eating experience.
Great updated brunch menu - we are looking forward to going back to try some other dishes!
