About
It was their last day open and they made it very clear they didn’t care about the experience or food
Definitely my kind of place, had an incredible time. Too bad the restaurant is closing and switching to a corporate event space. Really had a great experience.
Sad to see this restaurant go😩
Glad we made it for one more last meal.
The food was mediocre. The service was terrible. We had to wait to order. Wait to get our drinks. Wait excessively for the meal. Wait to get the check. Wait to get the check paid. In the end I had to walk my check up to the front desk. I rarely write reviews but Union Fare was Union Unfair.
Food was very good. I had the special watermelon, tomato, and feta salad which was delicious as well as the octopus and sausage which was full of flavor. My friend had the fried chicken and said it was great as well. The drinks were okay- nothing special.
Horrific service and bad for accommodating food allergies
was packed - therefore service was slow - but we did not care - we had a resv for 10 - but actually 12 came - and they accomadated us.
I thought the portions were very small for the price.
No effort was made to recognize a birthday. No complimentary items. The food was bland and soggy. The busboys continued to bother us throughout the entire meal by taking our plates that still had food on it and we had to keep telling them that we were still eating. We felt like we were being rushed out of the restaurant even though the restaurant was only half full. Overall a very disappointing experience. Will not return.
Great happy hour until 7pm which I appreciated because the drinks are slightly pricey outside of that. I had the steak frites and wanted to swap the fries for brussel sprouts but wasn’t allowed to which kind of sucked. The service was excellent though and the bartenders and wait staff are pretty friendly. Would definitely go back.
Food is only OK, pretty overpriced, but great ambiance, pretty restaurant
Worst service I’ve had in 2018. And i eat out a lot .
Delicious food and fun space but some unacceptable practices that don’t make guests feel welcome. Arrived early and restaurant was empty. Two of four in our party were present. Asked to be seated so we could order drinks and a starter and was refused until all guests in our party arrived. This is understandable during prime dining hours but restaurant was empty. Started the evening on a low note.
Very good brunch, smashes are delicious way to start the meal.
Came back because the food was so fabulous for brunch the first time. We could't figure out why the the service was so incredibly slow on a Sunday for a 10:45 reservation. The restaurant was far from full. Hopefully it was just a fluke!
I usually went to Union Fare for their amazing brunch, this was the first time for dinner. The dinners are just as amazing as the brunches!
This has become my go-to place for brunch. The food is good, the space is great, service is always good, and I can always get a reservation. I recommend it highly.
It's a nice space with good availability, but it's just not good enough to justify the price. My test dish for brunch, Croque Madame, was a bit soggy. When we asked for some softer bread for salmon carpaccio (for dental reasons) we were told none was available; which wasn't true, since we were allowed to order and pay for a croissant. Again, at the prices here, better service would be appreciated.
Eggs benedict was served cold. Never got refill on coffee. Service was slow and the place was empty. We were the first people there. The entire meal basically was a waste of time and money. Very disappointed. Wont return and will definitely discourage others from going. I cant even remember what I ordered. Yuck
Came here for a friend's surprise birthday party with a group of 9 of us and it couldn't have been more perfect! The server was incredibly accommodating and helped me pull together a last minute surprise birthday cake. The ambiance is amazing with all the lights in the main dining hall and the food is impeccable. Highly recommend.
Overall experience was good. Waiter was not kind and not smooth at all in her approach so service is to be improved
Price is misleading on opentable. Meal was good.
Poor experience. 7 our of 8 people were ready to be seated but we were told we had to wait because of “ policy “.to be seated. After asking to speak to manager about “policy” 3 times because we wanted to sit and have drinks they finally let us as if they were granting us the customer such a great favor when the table was empty and restaurant was not full, nor anyone waiting for a table. The 8th person showed up 5 minutes late for reservation time. Unlikely to go back. Many other friendlier / less attitude places to go.
We came here for brunch and like it so much we came back the next day. Great place, really good menu and friendly service. Good for 2 people or large group.
We arrived early but they were able to accommodate us on a busy day. The table we were given was in a good spot and the service was excellent. The chicken & waffles were outstanding!!!!
We had a horrible waiter.
Food took 40 minutes to come and waiter never came to check on us or tell us where the food was.
We had to find a manager.
why doesn’t an omelet come with toast? Why is bread $4???
And it came and it was hard as a rock. We needed 2 managers for decent bread?
Chicken sandwich and fries were delicious but I don’t think I will go back.
They didn’t handle things correctly and had some lame excuse why the food wasn’t ready in a timely fashion.
The services was extremely slow. The food came out cold.
I think our waitress was new because she didn’t know anything about the menu and also messed up 2 of our meals.
The food was excellent and the atmosphere wonderful. It was a great menu. The quality of food for the price was amazing.
Great food. The croissants are amazing!
I had a party of 11 for a birthday party. They wouldn’t seat us until all 11 people were there and threatened to give our table away if ALL guests didn’t arrive within 10 min of the reservation. Clearly all 11 people didn’t show up on time and this created a lot of stress. Eventually we promised to order for the entire party if they would seat the 7 of us that were there.... I don’t recommend booking for large parties, especially in NYC traffic. On the plus side, food was great and our server was excellent.
Party of five, including a 10 year old child and 75 year old grandfather was not sat at a table for 30 minutes due to one member of party delayed due to traffic. No apology beyond "We won't seat a full party, that's our policy". Once seated, we were instructed that our order must be completed in full at once, we could not order appetizers while reviewing the menu. Food was brought to table cold, and replacements were a long time coming. I will not return, and I will actively dissuade others from frequenting this establishment.
Great food and excellent service. Noise level rises as the dining room fills
The cod is the most overpriced and underflavored piece of fish I have ever had.
Was a great venue for a large group and our waiter was very patient with the table and accompanying children. The food was very good though a little bit pricey for it. I would dine again.
Was a great time highly recommended!!
Brunch was fabulous! Croissants were amazing!!!!!!
Father’s Day Brunch
I wish I remembered our waiters name because he was a big part of our experience. He described the food so accurately and beautifully he should have a show on the Food Network. He was helpful and full of personality! The food was absolutely delicious we liked everything. I enjoyed it so much I'm going back two days later.
The portions were a decent size but the prices are a little high for dinner. I recommend Union Fare for brunch!
