It was my birthday and a perfect place for the celebration. The ambiance was intimate and the food and service outstanding. The dessert was unusual and creative. Titled cheesecake beignet it was cheesecake batter, dipped in graham cracker crust and deep fried. Just delicious. I highly recommend Union Common to anyone for any occasion.
Family outing w my oldest son & his family. Decided to try a new place w steak/seafood. Service was very
prompt and polite. We are primarily filet and salmon
w hush puppy appetizer. House bread is served warm and is very good. I will recommend this venue. It is deserving of 4 1/2 stars!!!
Disappointing. Despite ordering drinks shortly after arriving, our appetizers arrived before the drinks ever did. After telling a server to cancel the drinks and we would just move on to wine, the drinks arrived anyway. We were repeatedly told that the "bar was very busy." After this, our server virtually vanished, despite fawning all over the tables on either side of us -- he practically chewed their food and fed it to them baby-bird-style. The food was generally good - the mushroom bread pudding is outstanding. There are better places and way better service in Nashville, I'll try the rest of them before coming back here.
My husband and I went on a Friday night around 6pm. The bar was packed. Apparently they have a good happy hour so we will have to go back and try it out. I got the sea scallops and my husband got a steak. Both were very flavorful.
Everything was running on all cylinders that night - food was great, service was great and ambiance was perfect. We were a slightly larger crowd than normal and the kitchen didn’t miss a beat.
Great food, great wine, and phenomenal service
Overpriced for the food. It was really good but at these prices might as well go to a nice steak house.
Gorgeous decor, friendly staff, great mimosas!
Great service and great food!
We had a large group (4 adults and 3 kids) and had an excellent time. The wait staff were the best.
Fantastic brunch with great service & awesome flavors!! We are a hard group to please & they exceeded our expectations!! Plus, they have $3 mimosas!!
We really enjoyed. Great place to really dine. Plenty of staff and servers, never had to ask for anything. Food was really good and cooked perfectly. Looking forward to eating here again.
Union common is one of Nashville’s best restaurants for fine dining. I have been multiple times with multiple servers and each one has been extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. The food is consistently divine. Yes that is the only way to describe the food. There aren’t too many tables so it near feels crowded or loud. Many places in Nashville charge you high prices for aesthetics and the food is just subpar - this place is not one of them. A foodies dream.
Union Common is always a pleasure. the food is high quality and very fresh. The noise level is perfect for quiet conversations. The seating is comfortable and the location is perfect.
Good food, good service.
Great atmosphere and service!
It was outrageous expensive, bad service and ok food.... not a good combination..
Amazing service, atmosphere and food!
We were a party of four for a business dinner. We had a time constraint which I mentioned when I made our reservation. The service was excellent as were our meals. The heirloom tomato salad is worth the trip alone. We appreciated very much the attentiveness of the service; we were back for our evening meeting on time. I look forward to returning soon.
Brunch food was excellent! Love the decor and the service was great!
Everything from the valet parking to hostess to waiter to the meal itself was well done. Impressed with this and will be back
The scallops were the best I've ever had. The lobster risotto was delicious as were the green beans. The service was outstanding. Gluten free choices.
Let me start by saying that Union Common is one of my family's favorite restaurants in Nashville. We have had several great experiences there. So when we had guests from California, who run a Napa winery it was an easy pick to come to UC. In fact, we had Tuesday reservations for dinner, but when their flight got delayed we cancelled our Thursday reservations for City House to bring them here instead. We brought two bottles from their vineyard; one for the table and one for the sommelier to introduce him to their wine. So first glitch that night - no sommelier that evening. We left the bottle with the assistant manager, but obviously had no chance to tell the somm about it. Subsequently our waiter seemed a bit thrown off. Our main meal arrived before the seafood appetizer platter. Before we could make any decisions a second waiter showed up with the seafood that had we had no table room for. She starting telling my group what items to move, and then squeezed it in on the side between two people. A rough start for sure, but then came my real surprise. The quality of the food just wasn't up to the standards we have had there several times before. Overall, it was an embarrassing experience hosting my guests there. I'm comfortable with Union Common's pricing when they are on their game, but this night was not the case. Some of my family joked that the a-team must not work on Thursdays. I will note though that the assistant manager took on the wine service responsibilities excellently. I plan on returning, but will definitely reassess before bringing guests there.
Had the Ultimate Feast for 2 and it was fantastic
Restaurant was Very cold. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and it took a long time to get our food. Some items were wrong and two delivered cold, we sent them back only to have them redelivered slightly warm. The food was good.
Great food and service for brunch.
Great food selection if you like steaks and such. Great service and interesting cocktail collection.
McKensie, Myles and Jessie are THE best! Thank you!!!
All the food was incredible.
I ordered the 50 day aged ribeye and it was under cooked and super tough to cut and eat. I ate only 50% of it. The macaroni and cheese was absolutely tasteless. Just had zero flavor whatsoever. Pork belly was good. Cheese plate was good. Wine was good. Most my friends enjoyed their filets. I also was booted in their parking lot due to some confusing signage. They immediately took care of this for me and were very helpful. Just annoying when you’re ready to leave and oh wait we’ve booted your car on accident and you’ll need to wait while we fix this. Our bad... anyway we probably won’t be back.
Fantastic meal great drinks
We had a wonderful experience. The food was really well prepared and innovative without being pretentious. Service was prompt and professional. WooHoo - $3 mimosas. We will definitely put union Commons on our brunch rotation
Thank you so much for your review! We pride ourselves on offering food that is creative while still approachable, so we really appreciate that input. If there are any items you tried or a particular server that made your experience above and beyond, we'd love to hear about it (beyond the $3 mimosas, of course)! Have a wonderful day!
Excellent food and amazing atmosphere. The waiter disappeared after we got the food and it took a while to get our tickets, but it was still a great experience.
I had friends and family visiting from out of town and wanted a great place for them to enjoy great food. While I was in good company, we caught the restaurant on a bad night. I love the food, especially the cheesecake beignets with French pressed coffee. We ordered the Infamous Feast and were told that the beef short rib that was otherwise sold out was reserved for this meal. We waited 90 minutes for our food and watched everyone around us get served. My girlfriend was on her 3rd martini and my husband took his 3rd bathroom break. My family member had to call her sitter to ask for more time. I was embarrassed since this was my restaurant choice. My problem this night was communication. It literally turned into a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode with “there was a disturbance in the kitchen.” We didn’t get an explanation until my friend asked. When the feast finally came out, we were so disappointed that the short ribs were burnt! Being black, it’s difficult being in these spaces at times, because we all have had so many experiences of not being treated equally. Our server assured us this was not the case and I truly believe the manager and chef were sincere. I will go again, but am disappointed that the night that I wanted to show off one my favorite restaurants it would make such a bad impression. I commend them for replacing the burnt short rib and accommodating our needs. It will be a while before I return.
Great meal and great staff!!
We're so glad you enjoyed your experience with us! If there are any items you tried or a particular server that really wow-ed you, we'd love to hear about it! Hope to see you in again soon!
We visited yesterday and enjoyed their brunch - french toast, biscuits and gravy, potato hash and mimosas. Our server was Aubrey and she was very knowledgeable. 😊
My food was cold the first time I got it. The second time I got it, it was missing a condiment that was supposed to be on it. The manager didn't seem concerned at all about my issue. The waiter paid for my meal. That's not his responsibility. This should have been handled properly by the manager and it wasn't. I won't be going back there again.
The hostesses were not dressed in a way that aligned with the other service employees -- they were dressed in very casual attire unlike the more formal wait and bar staff, and their look didn't align at all with an upscale brand/experience. This is the first impression.
The waiter did not visit the table often enough. We were a few times waiting to order drinks.
Not the same experience I had the first time I went there.
Friday evening date with my wife. Food and service were excellent. Union Common is our go to for a nice Midtown Nashville restaurant.
