We’ve been to union Cantina a bunch of times and we are never disappointed. This last visit we went out with friends on cinco de mayo. Atmosphere was fun and lively and the food was great. Only complaint: they had a very nice mariachi band but they left the loud music playing through the speakers while the band was playing and I Ghent bad for them. But they were wonderful and we are always happy to go back!
Food has absolutely little to no seasoning. Nachos we ordered came out burnt. Shredded chicken terrible taste.
A little dark...otherwise, the service was attentive, the food was uniformly excellent, and the prices were reasonable. You can easily make a meal from appetizers, but the deconstructed enchiladas are terrific.

Fajitas with grilled shrimp were so yummy that we wanted to keep eating even though we were full. We decided to take the leftovers home for a snack the next day.
We were at Union Cantina twice when they first opened and were a bit disappointed BUT they have their act together . This restaurant will now be in our rotation list of go to places!!!! TOTALLY DELICIOUS!!
Surprisingly wonderful! We frequented the location often when it was Southampton Public House and greatly anticipated it successor. We went to Union Cantina in the first weeks of its opening- it was overcrowded and service was nowhere to be found. Didn’t return until Restaurant Week this year and they were very wise to not only participate, but to offer a full menu. We tried many more dishes than we would have and everything was delicious down to the desserts which I wouldn’t have considered in a Mexican restaurant (we usually go for ice cream on Main St) but will definitely get the churros w/Nutella & fruit next time we go. It was a good bet for the restaurant -the service was excellent (despite RW pricing ) and the second chance that I might not have considered will bring me back again and again like the old days of the brewery when we went weekly.
We went during Restaurant Week and we are glad we did! Excellent food and pre-fixe menu was a bargain and plentiful. Prices very reasonable for the Hampton's. An all around great experience. We will be back!
The food was very good. Not too spicy and it was plentiful. There was a variety of choices so all three of us chose different meals. I will definitely go back. The only complaint is that the busser wasn't very observant and our water glasses would remain empty until you could flag her down.
I thought that the drinks were very overpriced for this type of casual restaurant. $13 wine seems excessive to me.
Went for a business lunch and it was perfect, we had the place to ourselves and service was fantastic! Food was really good as well and for the Hamptons, a great value!
Union Cantina is a great place to go for Tex-Mex style dining in an informal, relaxed atmosphere. The food is served in plentiful portions and is always tasty. The noise level can be energetic, especially during televised sporting events.

Union Cantina is a great place to go for Tex-Mex food in a casual, informal setting. The enchiladas and tacos are especially tasty and the portions are generous. The menu prices are reasonable for the Hamptons.
We went to Union Cantina for brunch. I love their huevos rancheros along with their Cadillac margarita. Service was excellent (thanks, Irma) and the food was delicious.
The soups were fabulous, the burritos tasted frozen, not fresh
The restaurant does not have sufficient heat to maintain a comfortable temperature when cold outside. It was in the low 60s and people were eating with their coats on.
The menu has changed since this summer and the food was not as good. The chicken empanadas were served cold inside (probably because they were frozen before being fried). My skirt steak was tough and chewy.
Service was grumpy and inattentive.
I liked the food a lot. Portions weren't too small. Excellent service. The live music was amazing!
We were eating by ourselves which was fine. Late nite supper. We were told after we were sitting that there was no steak left on the menu, very disappointing. The server said there were only 2 Vodkas, both were premium, $15 bucks a drink. No house/well vodka, impossible.
Meal was good, but not steak, which was what my wife had been looking forward to.
Dessert was good, but did not show up with fruit or cream drizzle. Disappointing.
2nd time at the restaurant and unlikely to go back for a meal.
The food was not appetizing, lacked complementary flavors. The wait for the food was unusually long, the waitress forgot a specialized order and one of the drinks. The turn around in correcting the forgotten drink was again longer than it should have taken. The kids did not enjoy their sliders, they asked for well-done and got charcole burnt sliders. We opted to take our dessert which we ordered with our meal order to go and the wait for that was at least 20 minutes. I would not recommend or visit again.
We had an early dinner on Saturday night before we drove back to NYC. It was just what we wanted, a casual atmosphere and good food. We had the avocado hearts of Palm which was wonderful.
We had fajitas for dinner.

Food and service were great. Booking on open table was a breeze. Live music was a bit loud but we asked to be far from it and we were easily accommodated. We enjoyed what we heard from that table as background music. This was perfect because we were there for a somber occasion. Thank you to all the staff.

Two for one taco and margarita night. The chips and guacamole were delicious. The margaritas were not good at all. The tacos: 2 teeny little tacos and not very good. The first check was completely incorrect. We were charged full price for everything. When this was pointed out the waitress had it recalculated and corrected. This was a very disappointing meal.
Union Cantina is a must! Delicious fare, great service and a lively, beautiful environment.

Great lobster tacos. Outstanding margaritas. Even though our rez was for 7:30, there were a ton of very young children there. So it's a very family-friendly place but if you'd prefer something less frenetic, dine later.
Amazing drinks!!! Service was spotty. Our food was warm not hot and our appetizer dishes were never cleared from the table. We had to eat with dirty plates in front of us. Our server was friendly but left the appetizer plates on the table when he checked on us - until the bus girl removed all the dishes at the end of our meal. Minor changes would make this a great place.
The interior main dining room was incredibly noisy and lacking in decor and ambience. It detracted from the good food and service.
Food quite good. Service a little snotty. They refused request to move tables even though a noisy party was ensconced at the bar and overwhelming our party's conversations. There were open tables when we arrived and also after we finished our meal. Going back again for a second try. Hope the food is as good, the service better and the loud people in another state.

The people who work here are wonderful. Great, positive vibe. The food and drinks are good... a little overpriced, but that's not a surprise given it's Southampton. I tend to assume Mexican (unless super fancy, written up, etc) won't be as pricey as other meals but this was more expensive. Again, the food is good and so is the atmosphere. It's not going to be the top of my list, but I'd return. That said, we had a reservation and we arrived early. They said they'd try to seat us soon but had to seat other reservations before us and to have a seat at the bar... 15 minutes past our actual reservation, we were seated. It felt a little like the Hamptons mentality of trying to make more money while having people wait at the bar. The restaurant was empty! Didn't love that...
terrible food and service. Queso was almost inedible, entrees were cold. We needed to ask several times for our guacamole, and drinks took forever. Would not go back!
We have had several dinners at this restaurant and have been very pleased. The Chef, Scott Kampf, has done a remarkable job bringing delicious choices to the diners with moderate pricing and excellent service. The staff and hostesses are very attentive. I have and will continue to recommend this new restaurant. The outdoor seating is very comfortable. We recently took our 6 year old grand-daughter and the children's menu was very reasonable and she loved the food.
Ordered empanadas to start, which to our surprise were 3 mini items. For the value ($12) would have preferred just one normal size empanada. The chicken quesadilla barely had flavor and the whole fish not only smelled very fishy when it arrived at our table but had no taste at all. The best part of the meal were the yucca fries we ordered on the side.
I do have to say, we were all happy with the actual service. The servers were very attention and always smiling.
It's supposed to be a Mexican place. It would help to use Mexican spices to make it taste authentic.

Better than anticipated (had fairly low expectations). Good margarita, excellent gaucomole and really enjoyed the deconstructed shrimp enchilada (thoughbit was not at all spicy as billed). It was a tuesday and this could account for the relaxed friendly service. I imagine summer weekends are a bit more frenzied.
We had a 4 pm reservation, but about 40 after we sat down, we were told that since it's after lunch and not yet dinner, the chef is not in yet to prepare our main course orders. Granted they gave us a round of drinks on the house, but why take customers in when the chef is not there. And there were they people seated too. Food: guacamole was ok, needing salt. Salsa was way too mild, almost bland. However, fajitas (beef and chicken) were delicious, once they came out. Portions were pretty small though. I feel like if we didn't fill up on guacamole and chips for an hour before, the main course would have left us unsatisfied.
The drinks were good: we had 3 types of margaritas - and all were tasty but very light on alcohol. None of us were even slightly buzzed after drinking 3 rounds of drinks in 1.5 hours.
We chose to sit outside on the patio because it was very cold inside. The patio was beautiful and when it got chilly, they lowered the clear vinyl curtains to make it warmer. The setting was very nice.
The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Overall a nice place but a bit pricey. I think fajitas were $30 each. I don't know if I would go back though.
