The food was great, I ordered the gouda and cheddar grilled cheese and the soup of the day. The soup was a red pepper bisque and that was my favorite part of the meal. The interior of the restaurant was inviting and comforting. I really enjoyed the fireplace in the dining room. My server was fine, although a bit too exuberant for my comfort as I am a reserved and introverted person. Also there was a birthday party, which made the noise level very loud, but I could deal with that for the most part. Nonetheless she served us the correct food in a timely manner and that's good enough for me. I definitely will be returning.
This was my first time trying the french toast. It was fine, but nothing to write home about. That said, my mimosa was (as always) stellar, coffee amazing, and service and staff attentive and delightful.
We had a reservation. We were taken back about 10 minutes after. One server handling most of main dining room. Took close to an hour to get out meals. Beer selection poor and their house beer is not good. Not sure I would recommend it or go back.
Great food, service and ambiance.
Saturday Brunch was great. Had the Chiliques which are large enough to share between 2-3. Waffles were a little dry but otherwise our party had a great meal. Cool place and looking forward to coming back in the spring when they start using produce from the rooftop garden.
Service was extremely slow and no acknowledgment of it
Always great food, great drinks. We regularly take friends and family here.
Do not get fooled like we did...the table by the fireplace was a perfect spot to put us on a cold night in Chicago. But after you warm up, you bake for the rest of the evening. My face was on broil throughout the dinner and often times I pulled my chair away from the table to escape the heat. The gas fire could not be turned down. It took some of the enjoyment out of the evening (no other tables to move to..."sucker" was written across our foreheads)
Food is solid, great parking and service was fine. I'll return but NOT sit near the fire.
I have eaten here regularly since opening and ha w
Valentines Day. Would have preferred a table where Enteratinment was / could have been heard. Also not in front hallway with door opening and cold air.
Me and my husband had a great time.Foods are great, clean and I enjoyed seating by fireplace.my only downside is our server it seems to me that she’s not happy what she’s doing but overall it was great experience and we would loved to comeback!
We had a great Sunday Brunch at Uncommon Ground-Edgewater. Our waiter, Issac, was outstanding as was the food. The restaurant has a great vibe and we highly recommend it.
My family and I had a wonderful evening at Uncommon Ground Edgewater. This was our first time here Andy’s sure to be one of many return visits! The ambience, service, and food were wonderful! We had a great time and left with smiles! Uncommon Ground is a Diamond in the Heart of the neighborhood!
Delicious food and rustic atmosphere! Our server, Isaac, was the best!
Everything was great the food the atmosphere the drinks I couldn't ask for a better place good job Uncommon Ground
Staff was friendly, ambiance was lovely for Sunday brunch, food was delicious!
The food was excellent. Unfortunately the noise level was pretty high — very loud!
The food at Uncommon Ground was delicious. The ambiance of the restaurant was laid back and charming. It's a bit pricey and portions were slightly smaller than expected, but I still left feeling full. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Was happy to be able to make a reservation for 9, and the table was actually dining-length! We could have had 12-14 easily, and that’s so hard to find. Our server was delightful and SO accommodating! The food quality is great, though some might find it a little pricey if not used to comparing higher and lower qualities, especially in produce and oil usage.
We have dinner here every New Years Eve and have had anniversary dinners here, too. The ambiance is great - and the cabaret is fabulous!
Outstanding as always. Going to miss this chef; hope they find another soonz
At Loyola to see our daughters first dance performance
Fantastic Sunday Brunch with family. Food was incredible - service was excellent and natural. We'll definitely be back as often as we can.
Super surprised with this place. Highly recommended
Wonderful food and good service.
Great restaurant! Good food, good service, good people!
Very good options for those with dietary needs like gluten and dairy free. I had one of the best egg benedicts I have had in a long time. This place focuses on local ingredients.
My new favorite place to dine. Have been here many times. It’s akways great.
Our waiter was helpful and accommodating in helping us choose a wine. Unfortunately the food experience was not the best. The schnitzel was over cooked and the fish tacos just average. The restaurant itself had a warm and cozy feel to it. They do have live music every night but unfortunately if you want to sit in the area where the artist
Is entertaining and actually hear them you have to pay an additional cover charge.
We asked for a few minor changes which couldn’t / wouldn’t be accommodated. For ex. Put the fried egg on top of the potatoes. Coffee tasted burnt and not hot. Potatoes dry.
The service here is amazing and the food matches everything you read. Closely connected to the food source and delicious. Great for date night or a family meal. Highly recommend!
Food was very good. Not a huge selection but sufficient. Service was very good and helpful. Liked the idea of a "green" restaurant serving home grown vegetables grown on the rooftop.
Nice patio and decent menu but food was mediocre. Very friendly service.
Always happy here, feels very farm to table and I love that some of the food comes from their rooftop :)
We usually Love dining here, hence why we choose to have our celebrations here. Today, however, it was dissapointing all around. We were the first table in the whole restaurant at 9am for my husband birthday. Our table did not have any place settings and we were never given any. We had to get up ourselves and take them from other table. Also our waiter was polite, nice and professional but very distracted because he didn't notice any of these details. I ordered the chilaquiles but I do not like red salsa and he informed not as I was placing my order but when I received it that they cannot make the chilaquiles with the green salsa. So everyone got their food and I just ordered 2 scrambled eggs. Also when I made the reservation I said it was my husband birthday to please put a candle his food, AND it was confirmed by phone previous night. His food came out and no candles. I then pointed it out to the manager/owner and he was very nice and very apologetic so they gave my husband a slice of carrot cake on the house. But the candle blew out before the waiter even made it to the table..... I have NEVER in my 52 years seen that fail. Waiter could have had a lighter handy. We had 2 kids with us and they never received a kids menu which we didn't even know they had until we were done eating and saw them at another table. My husband had to get sugar and sweetner from another table....all this because our waiter Never came back often enough or noticed that all this stuff was not at our table. Overall I was very very dissatisfied.
Liked the rooftop garden and inclusion of veggie options. Food was good, if pricy. Server told us our child would eat free, but after we had ordered and eaten, then told us the manager wouldn’t honor the deal, so we had to pay for our 3 year olds meal.
Beautiful setting and great service with the unique feature of much the food being grown on the roof. The meal was good overall, the burger, salad and tacos were very good, although the risotto could have used more time on the stove. Portions and prices were very reasonable, I would go back.
The food was such a disappointment. Also, though they were not busy, the food took forever and the server was never around when we needed something.
First time at this location. Extremely pleased. Meatloaf incredible....monday martinis special was delicious. Gardens incredible. Anxious to return. Great friendly service too!
