Every dish we ordered tasted so delicious.Same thing goes for the drinks/ cocktails. Service was excellent, very accommodating
Will definitely come back
It was raining when we were there, but they were prepared for the weather and outside seating with canopies and heaters.
Okay, yeah... it's a little pricey for Chinese food, but it was SOOOO good! Go, split some dishes with friends. It's worth it.
We ate outside and unfortunately it was very cold even with the heaters. Our service was really good, however and the food was delicious as always. We tried a new ppetizer, salmon spring rolls. They were great.
I ordered appetizers and 2 entree. Everything was very tasty and was served warm. The service there was first rate and I appreciated it. I have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the food and ate every last bite. I would definitely return here.
So outside on a chilly night. Did their best to move heaters. Still freezing. But amazing service and delish food. No complaints. Thanks for trying to work within the restrictions. We had a great time.
It was chilly on Friday. They had several tables that were "reserved" that they would not seat us at even though we had a reservation. Instead, they put it at a table without a heat lamp. Several tables had more than one heat lamp. We ended up leaving before they took our order as we did not feel welcome.
Delicious food great service beautiful restaurant. We sat outside it was lovely. Thanks very much. We visit often and are so glad you are open!
Food prices have gone up and quality has gone down.
With the weather changing, please consider more heaters for outside dining. Very cold as heaters had to be shared.
Food was pretty good. Not as good as we remembered. The prices have been raised ALOT and now you have to pay extra for the rice that used to come with the meal. No soup/salad anymore either. So the value has gone way down! Would I return? Not for a casual meal. We could go somewhere "fancy" for what we paid for this Chinese food, which we usually think of as less expensive fare.
This place did not disappoint. The entire menu sounded amazing. The wine list paired so well with the food menu. The fried rice Wagyu style was delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked and the flavor was perfectly paired well with the rice and veggies.
Excellent food and a pleasant dining experience. Will repeat for sure.
Food, drinks and service fantastic! Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!
The experience was good and felt safe in regards to pandemic precautions. Most of our food was very good. The big disappointment was the Chinese chicken salad for our guest. It was just not up to par with other entree’s and one would think that salad would be exceptional. I could buy a salad kit from Costco that would have tasted better.
The atmosphere is always outstanding, and the food is always impeccable with taste and flavor.
Decided to go to Uncle Yu’s with some out-of-town friends. They were looking for a place that offered a gluten-free menu and Uncle Yu’s did. We had a great time. The cocktails were amazing and the food and service were even better. Sitting outside under the lights was great. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal or dining experience.
Great for a Birthday
Our meal was delicious! Never experienced a bad meal and always look forward to returning. Some the dishes are pricey (Sea Bass) but it is the best dish on the menu...in my opinion. Asked for soy sauce twice and never received it, although won't result in me not returning.
We sat out on the patio, we had an amazing dinner.
The reason for the less than 5’s-
1) out of propane and kind of chilly. And there was an available heater lamp! But no propane.
2) more guests than staff! Our food came very slowly - and we didn’t even have silverware or plates yet!
Great service. Excellent food.
Had a great time at my friends Bday food and service was delicious
Couple next to us were coughing the whole time and the big party of 10 on the right side of us were talking so loud without masks while standing. We felt extremely uncomfortable.
Not cheap but worth every penny if you want the best Chinese food in town.
The food was excellant as always; however, there seemed to be plenty of help on duty but service was very slow. We weren't in a hurry but from start to finish our meal was 2 hours. Don't miss out on the Garlic Noodles!
We had brought family and friends from out of town and it was very special because we could always be guaranteed Uncle Yu’s would serve us well not only with wonderful service but delicious food and ambience even though we’re all under Covid dining now it kind of made it special to sit outside
The food was great! Service wise, our waiter was not very friendly. RARELY checked in with us and gave us updates on why the food was taking longer than expected. Wish I wrote his name down, but he has 3/4 tattoo sleeve.
Uncle Yu's is a favorite and go to restaurant for me when looking for a place to dine in Livermore. It is an upscale Chinese restaurant that offers good value and ambience for the money. It is nice to eat off of a white table cloth without paying "white table cloth prices".
This place is incredible. We ordered a large spread of dishes and shared them all. Will definitely be going back next time I'm up in Livermore!
Food was very good, but wait between courses was a bit long. Guessing was due to servers having to bring food out to the extended patio maybe. We weren't in a hurry so was wasn't a big issue. Would definitely dine here again though.
We were seated in the patio (per my opentable request) which was great. The server took his time coming and we ordered drinks and appetizers, then dinner. we finished the small appetizers and waited and waited for the dinner - we asked the server when we saw him and he said that he was 'giving us time with the appetizers' - well, he could have asked us! My friend had the salmon and snap peas - she enjoyed the snap peas but the salmon looked like 'chicken nuggets' and was dry on the inside but sauced on the outside. The thin-sliced lamb was tender but had quite a few pieces of gristle mixed in. altogether an unmemorable meal especially for $115+ before tip. Not likely to go back anytime soon.
The food and service were both very good. I was highly recommend Uncle Yu’s!
Server Lukas was great.
Everything was well done the food was fine, the wine list is extensive and we had a really really nice lunch. The patio is covered so the sun is not beating down. we’re still obviously In COVID mode and social distancing but they did a really good job of keeping tables separated and with tagteam service everything was really good and service excellent.
Our anniversary dinner out during unhealthy air quality and pandemic. Service was okay- we had two different staff members ask for our drink orders. The food was just okay- nothing spectacular. Unfortunately the two different entrees we ordered came with the same sauce, which was hoisin sauce . The menu called the sauce for one entree’ haunting sauce’ so we were surprised when it was just hoisin.
The food is always fantastic. I went there the other night with my daughters, and we just had appetizers for the full meal since they are all so delicious. I highly recommend the lobster shumai, peking duck spring rolls, crabmeat cheese puffs, and bbq ribs. I'm also a big fan of their mu shu pork!
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Our waiter was awesome. The food was too. Highly recommend UY!
