Uncle Julio's - Annapolis
Uncle Julio’s menu also includes Tex-Mex classics such as tacos, enchiladas & tamales all with a selection of sauces made daily. Insider tip: order the tableside guacamole. It’s prepared for you at your table; if you like it spicy kick it up a notch with fresh chopped jalapenos.
Uncle Julio’s has a vast drink selection. Try our fresh margarita of the day, made to order with fresh fruit. If you prefer a frozen drink then the Swirl is definitely the perfect choice. The Swirl is frozen sangria & frozen margarita layered together dating back to 1987.
Reservations are guaranteed for inside & outside. We will try our best to accommodate any special requests.
Had a great experience, had an extremely polite and cool server. Delicious food and beautiful restaurant!
Delicious food and wonderful experience! Started with the tableside guacamole, got the Guadalajara fajitas and shrimp tacos, finished with the chocolate pinata which was such a cool and unique experience. The fajitas were so so delicious!! The bacon wrapped shrimp were so unique with the Mexican butter. Loved every part of it. Also got the swirled frozen drink which was great. Will definitely be back!
Our server, Jocelyn, was FANTASTIC! She was very friendly and attentive and took great care of us! Our only complain was that we were seated in a small somewhat enclosed area with a big group and it was LOUD! Once they left, the noise level was fine.
Everything was great!!
My family loves going to Uncle Julio's! The food is absolutely delicious and super fresh! There are a ton of options to choose from and we love so many of the selections that it is hard to choose, so we keep going back for more. We also love the wonderful discounts and specials that Uncle Julio's offers, which have saved us a lot of money. We'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves fabulous Mexican food!
Went for my birthday I enjoyed the food my waiter was amazing. Oh did I say how good the food was I’m a Vegan so the Veggie fajitas hit the spot.
Service and food were excellent. Seated about 20 minutes after reservation time.
birthday dinner. it was a bit loud inside but we enjoyed it
I don’t think our server spoke very good English, we had lots of errors with our order. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t amazing either. We may be back but more than likely not anytime soon. It was VERY LOUD couldn’t even have a conversation at our own table. We asked about peanut oil and received a conflicting answer. Was overcharged on the chocolate piñata. For a family of 5 the cost wasn’t too bad but food was just ok. I vote ehhh... meh face
Great place to have a Girls Night Out! Good food! Great Drinks! And you can even do separate checks!😉
The food is fresh I recommend to call ahead or reserve the wait time is going to be long on weekends and evenings
Food was great; though pricey for what you get especially since the server never brought my rice and beans to go with my fajitas. Service was bad. She was really nice and she tried hard, but she consistently forgot drink orders, forgot requests for water (never got around to refilling it), didn't bring sides, food came out at disjointed times AND the food and drinks took forever. One drink I never even recvd; but it wasn't on the bill so I didn't say anything. When we finally got drinks - the were awesome as was the food, but others in my party weren't as happy. We were a large party of 12, so I get it. But mgmt. should have been more observant and supporting their staff.
The service and food was excellent especially when you make a reservation ahead of your visit.
It’s a great place to be!!! Great food, great atmosphere.
Uncle Julio's Annapolis is one of our favorite spots for dinner. Fast service. Good food. Great drinks! Who could ask for more?
Great experience. The service staff was awesome. Thank You.
This was our second time having dinner. I have recommended this place to all my coworkers plus posted pictures on fb. All my friends are asking me when and how it was. One of my coworkers are coming in tonight for dinner. Lorenzo was awesome too I requested him after our first time there. We live in Baltimore but you will be seeing us again soon. My cousin and his family are also coming this weekend. I told them to come to Annapolis location instead of Columbia. Thanks again to our sever Lorenzo and the rest of the staff for welcoming us.
Food came out quickly, server was personable. One order was incorrect but was quickly corrected. Food was delicious, reasonable prices for portion sizes.
The food was good; however, the shirt steak fajitas was salty. Tender steak but salty The service was good, but while our server did her job, she seemed to have an attitude when we asked for more salsa & chips.
It was very good food!
Great. They never disappoint
Great service and consistently good food. Our server Pricilla was attentive, fun and professional.
Hostess & waitresses were very kind & efficient. Our family of 5 was served promptly & food hot & fresh. I had leftovers & the enchiladas reheated were a treat! Love booking thru Open Table. Will be back!
Fresh, but bland and not better than any other Mexican restaurant. Has a lot of hype, but nothing special.
First time and going back very soon. We made reservations and was seated immediately. Very energetic atmosphere. Chicken, steak and shrimp fajitas were delicious and raspberry margarita was tasty. Husband enjoyed bacon wrapped shrimp. It was dark so had to use flashlight on phone to see menu but worth the visit.
6 of us went for dinner to celebrate a 21st birthday. The place is just too big and noisy - arrived early for our 7:45 reservation and getting a drink at the bar was a challenge/ then no where to wait as the crowds continued to pour in. Probably better to go in summer when the outdoor deck areas are open. We had made reservations- had a table in the back. The waiter was good but the service was just ok- understandably so because it’s so crowded. Drinks are good but expensive. Food was typical Mexican-nothing special. I guess the draw is the chocolate piñata which is very unique and special. Wouldn’t go back.
Not worth the crowd at the door waiting to be seated. Maybe it’s because they are newly opened but they have a lot of kinks to work out. Our server was prompt in greeting us and taking drink and appetizer orders, but the promptness ended there. Our Queso arrived before our drinks or even water was brought to the table. Once water did arrive there were only 2 glasses for 3 people. We were promised a third glass and our drinks from the bar as soon as they would be ready. At 15 minutes post order, our drinks (small, over iced, and over priced) finally arrive (sans water) along with the table-side guacamole cart. The Guacamole was delicious but would have been better had we been offered more chips to eat it with. While waiting for more chips, dinner arrived in record time for any restaurant, 5 minutes post order; ONE DINNER OUT OF 3...My husband was served his fajitas and in about 5 more minutes TWO OUT OF 3 diners arrived; my tacos, then about 2 minutes after that FINALLY, 3 OUT OF 3 arrived; my sons Quesadilla. We ordered the chocolate Piñata well in advance because, really, that’s what brought us here in the first place. We thought it would be fun for our son. As we were finishing up our “mediocre at best” dinner my husband asked for a beer, which sent our server away to seemingly never return. Our table along with others around us where waiting and hoping for anyone at that point to remove the stack of plates from our tables that we organize in one easily removable grab. On at least 5 occasions an empty handed person (not our server) walked past our stacked table ignoring. Even when we tried to get their attention. At this point, which we are growing more furious (was our server on a cigarette break?), I even noticed the manager pull his phone from his pocket to check something(?). Please come take our plates! The Piñata, while fun, was meh in flavor with stale churros inside. 👎🏻 We have learned our lesson and will stick with supporting the local Mexican Cafe!
Great service, food, atmosphere! The chocolate piñata is fun, but it’s worth going to Uncle Julio’s for the appetizers alone!
I would most definitely recommend Uncle Julio’s to a friends - the food is amazing!!! Every single entree we ordered were delicious & proportioned well. Two complains - the server was distracted the whole time we were there. Not sure if he was nervous , or what was going on with him but he messed up on our order twice. Luckily the manager was very helpful . Secondly the restaurant was very loud and busy. We had a table of 3 adults - 3 children and we couldn’t hold a conversation because we were too distracted by everyone else’s !! Next time we will opt for a booth.
Uncle Julio’s was ok for a chain Tex mex restaurant.
Flooring was awful. Very slippery.
Great wait staff, attentive and friendly. Chocolate pinata is a fun way to end a celebration.; kids had a ball.
Our experience celebrating my husband's birthday was outstanding. The food was delicious, and tasted just like what we remember when we lived in New Mexico. Pleasantly surprised to see Hatch Green Chili on the menu; which is a New Mexico favorite. My husband loved his steak enchilada; said it was delectable and the steak was seasoned just right. I had the fish tacos which arrived with rice and soft taco shells. The fish was fresh and just right. For dessert; we considered the chocolate pinata but since we were so full from our delicious meal we went for the sopapillas dusted with powdered sugar. Everyone at our table loved their meals. The avocado dip was incredible and seeing it made at our table reminded us of one of our favorite restaurants in New Mexico. We would definitely recommend Uncle Julio's for an authentic New Mexican meal experience!
Our table was next to the restroom and we could smell the restroom the whole meal. That was the only bad and gross part of our visit.
Our server and food were fantastic! I work in a doctors office and highly recommend Uncle Julio's to our patients.
I couldn’t figure out what to order because everything looked so good!!!! So I ordered 2 appetizers and my meal and my husbands meal!! Amazing fresh and hot food!! I’m going back to get the chocolate piñata with my kids!!!
Not good service or good food. Bethesda location is much better!
We went to Uncle Julio’s in Annapolis to celebrate my son’s 8th birthday. He wanted a pinata. I made the reservation at least 3 days in advance for a Sunday night. We arrived on time for our 6:15 reservation for a table for 3 people. We checked in and by 6:30 still had not been seated. We had been told they were still clearing tables. We finally asked about the delay at 6:30 and were told the table had been ready for a while. Very frustrating! Then our table was next to the bathrooms, and every time the door to the men’s room opened, it was in my direct line of view. Unfortunately I quickly noticed that I could see well into the bathroom, not just the entrance. This is unacceptable and I will talk with the manager about it directly.
Went for a family members birthday. First time there. Food was great. Server had several large parties so we had to wait on things like side plates. Didn’t get one drink refill. Otherwise, it was great. Would go back. Got the piñata and would get it again
Amazing dinner. Our server was awesome!
Delicious food + great service = perfect combination!
