Menu is too limited. I believe you need a few main dishes. Simple, but somewhere people can go and feel satisfied that they are able to have a complete meal while enjoying this unique establishment. The music is outstanding!!! I do believe the music charge should be separate from meal charge for tipping purposes. Again, music is absolutely WORLD CLASS, and there's nothing around like it!! I am so happy Uncle Cheef came to the area and I definitely will continue to support it! Best of luck!!

Excellent venue that brings authentic NYC style jazz and ambience to the Brewster area. Quality music, tasty food, great drinks and a lovely vibe ambiance. Kudos to Ian & Jenny for an outstanding addition to the area.

This is a legit jazz club within convenient drive time for people in Westchester Putnam, and Dutchess counties in NY and Litchfield, New Haven, and Fairfield counties in CT. Food is very good, service is very competent, and acoustics are spot on. It's not cheap, but it's very reasonable for what you get.

We had appetizers and dessert and they were all delicious. The warm dates were our favorites and we thought about ordering more, but were too full. Brussel Sprouts made a great veggie with the apps and paired perfectly with the Red Pepper Feta dip. We had more dip than pita bread triangles, so we topped our B.S. with them and yum! The Deviled Eggs with capers and tiny pickles on the side added some tartness. Speaking of tarts, we ended with Apple Tart a la mode. It was tasty and loved the flavors. Only wish was that it had more apples in it. Ours seemed to have more crust and crumble than apples. Mocktalis were refreshing and much appreciated since we don't drink. Festive drinks without alcohol help add that feeling of celebration to the night. The Venue is lovely and really has that jazz club feel to it the moment you step into it. The staff was all so friendly and helpful from start to finish. We can't wait to come back again!

We tried the ribs and both types of sliders--all were very good. Our dinner mates loved their food too. We all loved the chocolate truffle mousse cake. Great service, great atmosphere, and fabulous music--a must-visit for any jazz lover!

Love Uncle Cheef's. Music is excellent performed by world renowned musicians. Food is always great. Try going there at least once a week. Ian and Jenny have opened a venue worth visiting. And the parking is free!

My virginal experience at Uncle Cheef was fantastic. Didn't really know what to expect, I was going primarily for the music. A musician performed I've wanted to see for a year or two. The music was great and the experience was enhanced by Uncle Cheef and their attention to detail. It's a second floor space in an older building remodeled specifically as a intimate music venue. For a club of it's size and being on the second floor, next to a fairly busy road, the sound quality is exceptional. I would imagine they put some serious thought and money into sound attenuation. If that is something important to you in a venue, Uncle Cheef is the place. The staff is excellent. there's always going to be turnover in a club restaurant business. I hope the key components remain together. Excellent bartender. and the food from the kitchen, was simple creative and just top notch. And do they go the extra mile. There's a way I like to enjoy listening to live music, especially the second set. I love to drink a great cup of coffee as the set evolves. The caff I know heightens my enjoyment and enthusiasm. Sadly very few of the better clubs in NYC offer coffee, and if they do it's less than stellar. Birdland does and that's about it. Between sets I was close to the bar and took a look for a coffee machine. Didn't see one, so let it go. A few minutes later, while speaking to the owner, Uncle Cheef himself, I mentioned he should get a coffee maker for the bar. He said, how do you like you coffee, we make coffee in the kitchen, Italian Coffee. A couple minutes later, I had a beautiful cup of coffee with cream on the side. Did I mention it was Illy? Just about the time the cream was stirred into the coffee the second set began. And there I was in my element. Finally, I left something at the club when I departed. So, I'm on the Metro North Train platform waiting. A couple minutes before the train arrives Cheef's wonderful wife appears with my bag. Such sweet kindness.

Very cool club vibe - Music wonderful but very loud so don't expect to be able to talk- was hard communicating with server. Bartender got up to sing an was wonderful too! Our issue was the menu- we went for brunch, brunch tab on website offers 5 brunch items as well as few sandies, salads and charcuterie options. We had wanted to start with charcuterie board and were told only brunch menu ... the 5 bunch items, server acted like she didn't have a clue what we were showing her. Menu clearly showed all items, under brunch menu. We did not understand why boards or even a few sandies were not available- lol our bill would have been 4x what it was...Almost left but it was pouring so ordered and food was nothing to talk about. Looked lie plenty of kitchen staff as they kept coming out to hear music too... Understand new venue and will give it another visit, but not for brunch...

2nd time here in a week.. 1st time we had awesome service, nice snacks.and awesome music. Came back this week, for the great line up... and they did not disappoint . We sat in a different section, and the service was sadly not up to par. We had a great time regardless. a bit on the pricey side with food / drinks / music cover but has been very fun so far.

It’s a destination for great jazz . The club is designed to give maximum enjoyment. The atmosphere is an intimate setting conducive to listening and viewing the artists. This is an NYC style jazz club with a superior mixologist and flawless table service. The food is designed to support the bar ( small plates / appetizers) . The menu is limited but well prepared. This is not a cheap date option but is worth the price for the quality of the entertainment.

This is a jazz club, and as such, it is almost expected that the food is not the main draw. This is pretty much true. The food was good, but nothing outstanding. Also, not the best place to come really hungry. No burgers, mostly smaller plates of food, like 2 pulled pork sliders with no sides. But the service was very good, our waitress was very attentive, and we were made to feel welcome. As to the music side of things, the band we saw was top notch, these were well seasoned jazz musicians. The seating is set up for good viewing of the stage, no matter what table you were seated at, and even the bar had good sight lines. The sound was very good, and not too loud or too soft. My only real complaint was a table of 4 very loud people who were constantly laughing and telling loud jokes while the band was playing. We were on the other side of the room, and they were louder than the band. We're not talking about casual conversation here, these people were loud. A band member even announced between songs that they were being so loud, he couldn't hear his own band playing. My wife also complained to our server, and she was told 'they are working on a policy'. I can appreciate the need to satisfy many different costumers, but Uncle Cheef needs to decide what kind of reputation it wants. Is it a jazz club, taking the music seriously, or is it a party space where the music is just background ambience. I hope he chooses to highlight the music, because I would love to make this a regular spot. I'm not asking for total silence, just a little respect for the band and the people who pay to see some good live music.

My friends and I visited Uncle Cheefs this past Friday night and it was our first time there. Our experience was absolutely enjoyable! The food was tasty, the service was great and the live performances were outstanding! I am definitely recommending this place to all my friends. It’s definitely the go to place for a relaxing evening! Brewster needed a place like this! Thank you to Ian & his wife for creating this beautiful atmosphere and to a great night!

This is as our 3rd time in one week that we visited Uncle Cheef’s. The food was great and different and the ambiance is so relaxing. The music is fabulous but what blew us away was that the bartender sang “the girl from imponena “ in both English and Portuguese! We are telling our friends about this fabulous place and are planning on returning soon

It was definitely NOT what my husband and I were expecting, that is for sure. It was cute, the music was a great touch, but as expected, it was a little pricey. It’s kind of off the beaten path and we wonder about the survival of the business due to the location, but it’s definitely worth checking out if you’re up for something different!

awesome place! good food/drinks and spectacular performers. only downside I see is limited space for waiters/waitresses bringing out food+if you are sitting close to the stage it can be extremely hard to place any orders because your server cant hear you lol. loved the experience though!

What a terrific venue for listening to world class musicians! Emily Wade Adams and the Cafe Society rocked the place. LOVE the ambiance, high top tables, overall friendliness of the staff, and accessibility! Sooo much easier than going into THE CITY or any others in CT! Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic, mellow, delicious, wonderful experience! Beautiful place, with lovely candle glow lighting and great live soft jazz music. Today it was bossa-nova inspired in memory of Astrid Gilberto, “The Girl From Ipanema”, who recently passed away. Looking forward to going back!!! All the best, Ian!!!

Fantastic addition to the area. NYC vibe and prices but definitely a wonderful experience that I will do again. We only tried the warm nuts which were yummy and a few drinks. Be aware there is also a $20/pp cover charge, at least for the show we went to, but again worth it considering you are getting NYC quality performers so much closer to home. 4 drinks, an app and cover for 2 came to $129.
