Food was pretty good, but they were extremely understaffed. Our server was nice, but we waited over 20 mins just to be acknowledged after being seated. Not sure I would return based on the experience.

Pre-show dinner, with a 5 min walk to the Capital One arena, garage parking right underneath. All very affordable and uniquely delicious menu. They were very busy so it took about 30 min to get water and to order. Felt a bit rushed by the waiter but once we ordered the food came out extremely fast. Dining there again was a 50/50 split within our party. But I recommend it.

My ramen was some of the best ramen I’ve ever had and the portion was a very decent size…I had to force myself to finish it. I got the tonkatsu ramen and it was soooo delicious. My matcha mule cocktail was the bomb too! The service was great and met all expectations!

I had a great time at umaya, service was top tier, food was amazing, never had ramen before but I absolutely love it. Antonio was our server he made sure we were doing okay, he was really patient and friendly with me, my friend, he even suggested us some food and drinks , and he definitely not disappointed with he’s choice, great server, good costumer service skill!

Foods ordered were excellent - chicken karrage, fried tofu, dynamite and volcano roll. The service was excellent. Only one lady was running the show - checking in, serving, bartending, cleaning, omg! Hands down to her. On the top of that, prices are reasonable, so highly recommended.

Very good food will draw us back. Beautiful special sushi roll, elegant on the plate. You can tell that they are understaffed, as the hostess was our server as well. However, she was very responsive, except one time when she failed to look up from her computer as I was trying to signal her. The room is drafty, a tad unpleasant in cold weather. Also, in terms of setting, there were no tablecloths. The place seemed somehow unfinished. Tables in the back were pushed together, with a corrugated box sitting there, waiting to be put away. What appeared to be servers' or kitchen workers' coats were draped over the chairs. The slapdash housekeeping gave the place a "not-ready-for-prime-time" feel. But the sushi and the hot appetizers were excellent.

This place was interesting. The food was solid and very nicely presented. The service was prompt and attentive. The restaurant atmosphere was… different. Normally I want more lighting and less noise. This place was the opposite because the lights were blaring and the music was at a good volume. There are also screens to watch the games. Which throws you off because you wonder if it’s a sports bar. Overall good place and good food. But not an elevated dinner night type of place.

This was an excellent restaurant. The food reminded us of an Izakaya in Tokyo. The robata grill was as good as you would find in a robata grill in Los Angeles or Manhattan and rivaled a Tokyo robata grill. We had various sushi and robata grill items as well as karaage and surimi squid from the small plates menu section. It was all outstanding. The service was courteous and efficient and the atmosphere was casual and non-crowded with good COVID spacing. And the location was fantastic. A central Washington DC NW location. We came from Maryland via the Metro. We departed the Metro Center station and the restaurant was literally a 5 minute walk (2 blocks) from the station. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and we will be back.

I’ve been here many times before the pandemic. My friend and I were excited to come for dinner but found the food ver greasy and lackluster. Nothing like what we were used to. The worse was an appetizer of brussel sprouts that were wet, limp, and soggy. I will not be attending this restaurant in the future.

The ramen soup is delicious. I had the grilled chicken and my husband had the pork belly. Don't get the lobster salad. It's mostly iceberg lettuce. Not worth $33. Dressing was terrible.
